Sand miners are stealing our land The scourge of illegal sand mining is leaving a path of destruction in the Vhembe area. Not only the environment gets destroyed by the illegal miners, but also the hopes and dreams of subsistence farmers in remote rural areas.

Bank employee accused of taking R36,8 million from deceased client Thabiso Matenda, a 28-year-old bank consultant for the Makhado branch of First National Bank (FNB) in Louis Trichardt was arrested on 10 June by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit for allegedly stealing R36 989 051.67 belonging to a deceased client.
