Netshivhongweni meets the mayor Musina News The traditional leader of Tshivhongweni village, Musanda Vho-Mutshutshu Gerson Netshivhongweni, pleaded with the leadership of Musina municipality to address issues of water shortages, damaged roads and provision of housing in his village quickly.

Netshivhongweni said his was a peaceful village that did not believe in protest action for service delivery. He had invited the mayor of Musina, Cllr Nkhanedzeni Godfrey Mawela, and local ward councillor Thiathu Mambeda to discuss service-delivery problems at Tshivhongweni village. The meeting took place at Tshivhongweni Musanda on Monday, 18 April.

Tshivhongweni is one of the villages that fall under Ward 10 of Musina Municipality and incorporated into Musina after the disestablishment of the then Mutale Municipality in August 2016.

According to Netshivhongweni, his village has many problems regarding service delivery that need to be resolved. “Some of the issues we are raising here today were left unattended by the now defunct Mutale Municipality. We tried to raise them with Musina Municipality’s previous council but received little attention in

response. Now that we have a new council, we are hopeful that our issues will be taken seriously and get attended to with the seriousness they deserve.”

The shortage of water has compelled residents to collect money to drill a small borehole at the village. “However, as the village is expanding, this borehole is now far away from where other people live.

Besides that, the water from the borehole does not have pressure, which means that there are days when we do not have a drop of this precious resource.

We also do not have a tank in which we can store the water in for our communities. Furthermore, my people need more RDP houses, and our main road needs to be repaired,” he said.

Netshivhongweni was happy that Musina Municipality’s leadership had accepted his invitation. “Your quick response to avail yourself clearly demonstrates that you are ready to help us to resolve our challenges. We do not have enough words to thank you for putting everything aside to come and attend to our issues here today,” he said.

In response, Mayor Mawela said that his administration took the role of traditional leaders very seriously, and that they would send a technical team out to the village to look at all the challenges and compile a comprehensive report that would determine a practical roadmap and way forward to resolve the challenges at Tshivhongweni village quickly.

The sentence of life imprisonment meted out to convicted rapist Ndivhuho Tshilongo Ratshilumela by the Sibasa Regional Court on Thursday (21st), has been hailed as a positive step towards the eradication of crime.

The 32-year-old former resident of Lwamondo Vhungwili village was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape, five years for kidnapping, 15 years for robbery and another 15 years for attempted murder. All the sentences will run concurrently.

Ratshilumela’s arrest and subsequent sentencing stem from an incident that occurred on 24 June of 2017 at the Makumbani Bar Lounge in Tshisaulu, where people

were enjoying their cold beers while watching a game of soccer.

Ratshilumela suddenly took out a firearm, pointed it at a male victim and demanded his cap. He then went outside, where he fired three shots at a 37-year-old woman who was on her way to a parked car.

The woman was shot in the hand, damaging some of her fingers.

Ratshilumela forcefully dragged the woman to the nearby bushes, where he raped her. From there the victim was taken to an abandoned house at Shayandima, where he raped her again and left her lying there.

An unknown, homeless man who lived in the house attempted to rape her too, but Ratshilumela returned and took his victim to the Tshilidzini Hospital bus stop. The victim managed to use her phone and call

her husband, who arrived with the police and took her to the hospital for medical attention. The case was taken over by Detective Sergeant Takalani Mulaudzi, who did a sterling job at arresting Ratshilumela.

During the trial, the victim told the court that she had been hospitalised for three months and had suffered serious injuries to her private parts. She is no longer able to use her injured hand, as her fingers are dysfunctional.

The accused pleaded not guilty on all four counts, but the court rejected his version of what had happened as improbable. The judge pointed out that the accused showed no signs of remorse. He also has previous convictions of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm between 2012 and

2015, which clearly did not deter him from committing these offences. The court decided that he was not capable of rehabilitation and that no justifiable reason existed to deviate from the prescribed minimum sentence.

The sentence was warmly received by members of the community. Tshisahulu Civic leader Mr Terrence Nethonzhe welcomed the sentence, saying it would serve as a warning to prospective law breakers. “Our community is suffering as a result of crime, and the delays in the finalisation of cases make a mockery of the justice system, with many believing there is no justice.

Following the gruesome incident, provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe ordered a 72-hour activation plan, and a massive manhunt ensued. The efforts by the police and members of the community assisting in the investigation soon paid dividends, and on Thursday, 21 April, less than 24 hours after the bodies of the couple were discovered, two men were arrested.

Goodman Magoma and Engetelo Advice Sambo (both 19 years of age), remained in custody until their court appearance in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Facing charges of, among others, murder, attempted murder, robbery and arson, their case was postponed until 11 May for further police investigation.

Magoma and Sambo, both South African citizens, will remain in custody until that time.

Monday’s court proceedings were attended by members of the Levubu farming community, who picketed outside the courthouse to express their dismay with farm murders. In a press release issued by the TAU SA (Transvaal Agricultural Union of South Africa) after Magoma and Sambo’s court appearance, Mr Fanie Havinga, vice-chairman of the TAU SA North and chairman of the Soutpansberg District Agricultural Union, said that they were happy that the two would remain in custody until their next court appearance.

Havinga said that they would definitely oppose any bail application brought to prevent Magoma and Sambo from being released. Following the arrest of the two suspects, Hadebe commended the police and investigating officers on a job well done.

This ultimately affects the community. We run without water for weeks at a time,” said Nyamande.

The community members feel that they do not need new projects or infrastructure. All they need is a team to deal with the maintenance of water pipes, full-time operators to pump water, full-time security officers, and permanent appointments for the three volunteers who had been working at the plant for nine years.

Tshidada regards his calling as an honour that allows him to serve his community and the country at large. His poor background and growing up in a single-parent home had forced him and his three siblings to fend for themselves.

This, he said, made him realise that without hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and a qualification, for one to make it in life would inevita-

bly become hard.

Growing up, he was always inspired by the likes of Judge Joseph Raulinga, who happens to come from the same area. Tshidada said he felt humbled to have been the one identified to represent not only his community, but the whole of the country.

Tshidada said his recommendation did not mean that he was the most intelligent as other excellent candidates besides himself were definitely available. He thanked God first and foremost for making this possible. He thanked his family, colleagues, and fellow judges who had mentored him throughout his legal career.

“When we were approached by the African Century Group, we never thought twice. After going through the profile of the owner, Ms Tsakani Masia, and after listening to her vision, we were convinced that in her, we had found a partner equal to the task,” said Samuel Nassimov, MD of Premier Hotels.

Construction of the fourstar hotel in Thohoyandou has already started and if all goes according to plan, it will be completed in May next year.

The construction work will be handled by Nakiseni Business Enterprise, a sister company of African Century.

The mayor of Thulamela Municipality, Cllr Sarah Rambuda, said that the development of the new hotel came at a very opportune moment. She said that the municipality was aiming towards achieving city status by 2030.

When speaking during the sod-turning ceremony, CEO Ms Tsakani Masia became very emotional. “It has always been my dream as businesswoman and as a historically disadvantaged woman to make a meaningful contribution to the economy,” she said.

Masia said that the dream to launch such a project started many years ago, while she was still working at Standard Bank. “It has been through

determination and uncompromising hard work, guided by strong moral values, that I have made it this far,” she said. She thanked the people who had played a big role in her life and enabled much of her success.

Ms Masia’s husband, Thovhele Nthumeni Masia, gave a final word of thanks and expressed his confidence that the hotel would herald a new wave of development in Thohoyandou.

DNA results show that “dead man” who returned is not linked to family

By Kaizer Nengovhela The tale of the man from Ha-Magau who “came back from the dead” has still not reached a definite conclusion as the family members now dispute the DNA results conducted on the homeless man that they had taken in almost three months ago.

The Thame family, from Ha-Magau in the Sinthumule area, originally believed that the homeless man might be their long-lost brother, John Tshamano Thame, who was supposed to have died 33 years ago. The man, who apparently looks just like John, was spotted at a dumpster at a petrol

station at Bandelierkop. After closer inspection, the family decided to take him home with them, convinced that he was indeed John.

They claim that, when John died in 1989, they had just been informed about his death, but none of them had actually looked at the corpse inside the casket to verify his identity. Seeing the homeless man, whom they say bears the same marks on his body as their brother John, they were convinced that they had buried the wrong man all those years ago.

Things did not go as expected, though, as a few weeks after the family had taken the man in, he apparently

started acting aggressively and demanded to be taken “back to where he belongs” (presumably the petrol station at Bandelierkop). At one point he ran away, but the family found him on the streets and took him home with them again. This behaviour came as a shock to them, and they started to wonder if they had made the right decision in taking the man into their home. They tried to get him into some kind of place of safety, but no-one would take him in without identification, which he did not have.

On 23 March, the Thame family took the man to a private institution in Thohoyandou, where DNA tests were conducted and compared with

their younger brother’s DNA. The results they received on 19 April, however, came back negative, showing that the man was not related to them after all. Now some of the family members insist that the DNA tests be re-conducted and compared with their mother’s DNA instead.

Ms Peggy Maano Thame, one of John Thame’s sistersin-law, said that they could accept the results as they were, although they felt very disappointed. Especially after all the trouble they had gone through since the man had come into their lives. “It’s not just disappointing, but very painful because there is a division in the family now. All the marks

on his body show that he is a member of the family. We wonder why the results came back negative. We believe the tests had not been done correctly. In this instance, it should have been compared with the mother’s DNA. We are going to sit down as a family and discuss this issue of his DNA, and then we will decide on the way forward,” she said.

According to Calvin Nengudza, chairperson of the Real Man Foundation, they admired the Thame family for the pains they had taken since they had heard about this man.

“They took him in and looked after him and further used their hard-earned money to conduct the DNA results, just

It had been hard for them at one point, but they pulled through,” Nengudza said.

Mr Witness Tiva, the spokesman for the Department of Social Development, said that they had conducted assessments on the matter and also started providing psychosocial support for everyone concerned.

“The presence of this man in the Thame family’s lives didn’t just raise their hopes, but left serious heartache and division among the family members,” he said. “We are looking at the possibility of arranging temporary shelter for him,” he said.

Masungwini wants to empower rural learners

“I used to carry my pencil, pen, a few exercise books to write in and a ruler in my small homemade bag to school. Very few textbooks were made available for us to read then. Teachers were the centre of information. Should my fellow rural learners go through this same experience while technology is the order of the day today?

My answer is NO!” Not if she can help it, she says.

Because of her own basic learning experience, her personal mission in life is to make sure that learners from rural schools are equipped with the necessary tools to make their learning experience a good one.

On 14 April this year, she donated ten new computers to Mulamula Primary School in Malamulele, where more than 300 learners with no previous experience of computers will have the opportunity to become more computer literate.

By Thembi Siaga The Capable Boyz, two talented musicians from Thohoyandou, are proving themselves a musical force to be reckoned with as they pave their way to national attention. Famously known as DJ Papi Ricco and Drubabgo, the duo released a four-track extended play (EP) recently, titled Capable Way. The EP epitomize the essence of modern-day amapiano, infused with elements of hip-hop.

Drubabgo was born Rudzambilu Netsianda and comes from Shayandima, while DJ Papi Ricco was born Ravele Mashau from Peast. Over the course of the

spring-to-summer season last year, they released two amapiano singles, called Mme a vhana and Sikite, which apparently took the Limpopo streets by storm.

Capable Way is fun and vibrant and features some of Venda’s finest amapiano and hip-hop artists. “The EP is growing every day. The song, Shaka Zulu, which features well-renowned vocalists Van Best and Oxx, has so far been the highlight of the EP. Fans crave for it each time we hit the stage,” Drubabgo said.

The EP includes tracks such as Irwani, featuring hiphop artist Gusba Banana. “I see this song as one of the project’s top hits, with its sonic vibe of piano and flawless

fun raps from Gusba. This is just an intro of what’s to come from us.”

Drubabgo says they have worked tirelessly on this project, selecting each song perfectly and choosing each artist they collaborated with precisely. “We formed the team in December 2020, and it has been the talk of town ever since the debut launch.”

DJ Papi Ricco too is very confident that they have hit just the right spot. “We believe that we started a whole new movement within the House culture in our region. Our fans are always left attentive and with a deep interest in our music,” he said.

The duo is surely making a name for themselves in the music fraternity. “With each passing day, we are gaining traction all over our Venda hometown and neighbouring regions with bookings from prominent venues all around streaming in,” Drubabgo said.

I also did the Early Rider show on weekdays between 03:00 and 06:00.”

Twenty-one-year-old Sendrella Ncube from Musina is fast becoming a household name on national television, with roles offered to her in all kinds of drama productions. Her latest role portrays a waitress in the famous SABC soapy, Makoti, which airs at 19:30 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Makoti highlights relationship challenges and how best they can be addressed in our daily lives. She had previously also featured as an extra in Moja Love original docudramas, such as Ufelani.

Better known as Cindy in

the entertainment world, she started her career at Musina FM, presenting the A re aganeng show on weekdays between 09:00 and 12:00. She also worked as a news compiler, reader and editor at Musina FM. “I worked at Musina FM for a full year in 2020, until I decided to venture into the television acting industry last year. This became possible for me after I joined the Naps Casting Agency, where I received training and role placements at television houses,” she said.

Cindy is also an artist manager and presenter on a YouTube channel, called Life of Twins, which reveals how identical twins relate to each other.

Cindy attended high school at the local Mopane Intermediate School. Here she realized that she had a special gift for entertaining people. “I always took on the leading roles of our school’s stage dramas and both the teachers and learners were impressed with my performance. I was also very active in debate competitions and did very well. My teachers encouraged me to believe in myself, and today I am happy to be reaping the rewards from their advice.”

She encourages young people to not give up on their dreams either. “The most important thing is to work hard towards achieving your dreams. Be dedicated and love what you do.”

Tshauambea Ramukumba publishes her second motivational book

When Ramukumba was still young, she realised that she had a passion and a talent for writing. At the time, she was reading profusely and felt really inspired by the kind of literature she was exposed to. “I don’t even know if there’s a story behind my being a writer, other than that I started to create stories through my experiences and the experiences of the people around me. Everywhere I go, I see stories - stories that need my

attention, waiting to be written.

Pen and paper became my friends,” she said.

This second book, she said, was suitable for everyone, irrespective of the reader’s age, with the focus on encouraging, restoring and mending broken dreams and lives.

“Shades of Shock was inspired by situations around me. The youth especially should read it carefully as the content might be able to help immensely in day-to-day life.”

She said that she was very thankful for the support she was getting from everyone. “It would mean a lot to me if the readers would provide feedback regarding the book to help me to improve as a writer.”

His work, along with other artists’ work, was exhibited during the prestigious Nedbank International Polo event, held at the Inanda Club in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Sunday, 2 April.

In 2019, he was awarded a scholarship by the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT), the Dramatic, Artistic and Literary Rights Organisation (DALRO) and Nedbank to support his visual arts studies at a tertiary institution. “When the Arts & Culture Trust approached me with this opportunity, they suggested that mine and three other artists’ work be featured at the Nedbank International Polo event,” he said.

His artistic passion started at a young age. “My journey started early in my childhood. I always loved art, but having studied at Lishavhana Secondary School, I didn’t get the chance to study art due to the limited subjects available. I only started practicing art professionally in 2018 after I completed my matric,” he said.

Radio has also taught me how to speak to a larger audience. I am now confident to voice my opinions,” Mamabolo said.

At the age of 21, Baloyi is steadily climbing the ladder in the art fraternity.

R9.3 million spent by Tourism Department, but still nothing to show at Tshakhuma’s conference and heritage centre

By Bernard Chiguvare / GroundUp Proposed in 2010, the R28.5 million Tshakhuma Conference Development Heritage and Tourism Project near Thohoyandou in Limpopo was meant to create jobs and bring tourism to the area.

A conference centre and 20 camping chalets were planned. Instead, the Department of Tourism paid a service provider R9.3-million before the project ground to a halt in 2014 with very little to show for the expenditure.

According to Lesley Singo, who worked for nine months on the project, a site office was constructed, the area was cleared of bushes, and a small makeshift footbridge was built.

Asked what work had been done to warrant a payment of R9.3 million, the department told GroundUp it was for site clearance, purchase of a bakkie, a fridge and bags of cement, and the payment of a planning consultant and the training of workers.

GroundUp visited the site on 9 April. Thick bush has grown back over the area that had

been cleared and a maize field now stands where the site office once stood.

The land at Goedverwachting farm near Tshakhuma Dam had been allocated by the Traditional Council to the Department of Tourism for the project.

The company, however, failed to comply with the contract stipulations, mismanaged the project funds, and a criminal case was opened against the service provider, according to Seapei Lebele, Tourism Acting Chief Director at the national Department of Tourism.

Efforts to contact or get comments from BAGP were unsuccessful.

“The community is really waiting for this project,” said Joel Mulaudzi, a community leader. He said the development would create much-needed jobs and boost economic activity for local small businesses and vendors.

For a while, the project employed about 130 people from the community.

The Department of Tourism

claims it met with the Tshakhuma Community Trust in 2014, informing the trust that the project was being discontinued, pending a criminal case against the service provider.

Lebele said the project was not going to be revived. The department had advised the trust to liaise with and seek approval from the Traditional Council to take over the project.

Chief Netshavhani Edson Ramadi from the trust, speaking through an interpreter, said he had informed the community of the developments in 2014.

He said he hoped the project would be revived to help reduce youth unemployment.

He said he would welcome anyone willing to take over the project and contribute to the development of the community.

But Osliy Nyamande, a community leader, said the community had had no feedback since 2014 from the trust or the department. “If the department feels the project has been stopped forever, it must give us permission to get people who can take over the project,” said Nyamande.

Being a bit smaller, the Tiggo 4 Pro does get through its gears more quickly and the vehicle feels both more responsive and more spacious in the cabin. The Tiggo 4 Pro competes within the small SUV market against, among other, the Volkswagen T-Cross, Nissan Magnite and Mahindra XUV300.

As for service intervals and warranties, the top models come with a fiveyear or 60 000km service plan, five years unlimited roadside assistance, a five-year or 150 000km warranty and 1 million km or 10-year engine warranty.

Mutshayi loses fight on points

By Kaizer Nengovhela Lufuno Mutshayi, the female boxer who hails from the Vhembe District, lost her fight against Monalisa Sibanda on points on Sunday. She contested in a featherweight bout at the Orlando Hall.

What was evident from the start was that Mutshayi would be lucky if she survived until the end of their six-round clash, as Sibanda was all over her. Things turned against Mutshayi early in the fight when Sibanda started to push her back into a corner, pummelling her with heavy punches. Sibanda approached the fight aggressively, giving her opponent no time to breathe.

Despite Sibanda’s continuous attacks, the first round may have gone Mutshayi’s way, especially after Sibanda was felled down by a punch and the referee counted to three. Sibanda got up and continued with the fight.

Mutshayi started to take more control during the second half of the fight and managed to hurt her opponent on several occasions. This was, however, not enough to secure her a victory.

Mutshayi’s spirit was not broken by the loss, and she said afterwards that she would like to schedule a rematch as soon as possible. Sibanda responded by saying she was ready, should Mutshayi ask for such a rematch. Sibanda described it as a pound-for-pound fight, where she showed her jabbing skills and professionalism. “I have defended my title and that’s it,” she said.

Mutshayi’s trainer, Manny Fernandez, said that Mutshayi had again proved that she was a

good boxer. “We are going back to the drawing board to come up with new plans to win the next fight,” said Fernandez. He added that she had let her opponent down with soft fists. He praised her opponent for her victory, but felt that Mutshayi’s own defence had been poor.

Tshiozwi Mates collected the maximum points at the expense of Ramahantsha Blackpool, whom they beat 2-1 in their Makhado Local Football league match played at the Ramahantsha Grounds on Sunday Mates took the game to their opponents from the onset, but their original fighting spirit faded as the game progressed. Fortunately for them they were one goal ahead when they lost cohesion in the middle of the park. They scored their opening goal in the 18th minute when Tshililo Moshapo found the net, following a brilliant pass from George Mokhele. Moshapo dribbled past two United defenders in a row before scoring.

Blackpool regrouped from behind, creating some promising moves as they approached the opposition’s half. Their efforts did not pass without reward as they scored the equaliser in the 36th minute when Moloko Sebola handled the ball inside of his penalty area and the referee pointed to the white spot. Rotondwa a scored to take the half-time score to 1-1.

By Bernard Chiguvare Although they were eliminated in the quarter-finals, the Vhembe Cooliozil football team did very well at the Easter youth game tournament, hosted by Orlando Pirates in Johannesburg. Fifty-six teams participated in the tournament, which kicked off over the Easter holidays at the Mayfair grounds. Ambassadors FC from Thembisa

and Bosso FC from Zimbabwe played in the final on 20 April, with Ambassadors winning the match 3-2.

The initiative was organized by former football gurus Thabo Mongalo and Mashudu Ndou.

Mongalo called the team from the north ‘The Pride of Vhembe’.

This was the first time the Vhembe Cooliozil team was invited to participate in the tournament. Mongalo, who is

the chief scout for the team, is a former Super Sport and Black Leopards player. He said he was pleased with the tournament as it offered the players the chance to display their talents, as well as the chance to be trained by bigger teams.

Ndou, also a former Orlando Pirates player, serves as managing director for the Vhembe Cooliozil team, with Lufuno Mathias as the team’s fitness trainer.

After suffering a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC in their opening Hollywoodbets Super League match at the Giyani Stadium last Sunday, Maindis will enjoy the home-ground advantage again this weekend. They will host JVW FC at the same venue on Saturday.

The defeat was the second in a row at the hands of Sundowns for Maindis. Maindis had wrapped up their league activities for the 2021 season with an embarrassing 0-7 defeat at the hands of Sundowns at the same venue.

Maindis has assembled the best squad ever this season. Apart from the fact that they have acquired the services of a vastly experienced goalkeeper in Theledi Monnye, the team’s defence, which is marshalled by Xiluva Tshabalala and Kelebone Mnisi, is not easy to beat. The defenders of JVW FC will have the mammoth task to stop the strikers of Maindis, Molepo Rapatsa and Tswarelo Digaota.

The other Limpopo-based side, First Touch FC, will travel to Kimberley in the Northern Cape. Their match against Richmond United will be played at the Galeshewe Stadium.

Thunderbirds Ladies will entertain Durban Ladies at the Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg. Tsunami Queens will have a date with Coal City ladies at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem, Free State.

The University of Western Cape Ladies will battle for the league points against Bloemfontein Celtic at the UWC Campus Stadium.

The University of Johannesburg FC will play against Vasco Da Gama in one of the three

matches that will be played on Sunday. The other Sunday fixtures are Mamelodi Sundowns vs Golden Ladies and TUT FC vs City Lads FC.

Venda Football Academy (VFA) are still battling to come to terms with the 0-2 defeat they suffered at the hands of TS Sporting FC in their GladAfrica Championship match played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors from Nelspruit took the game to the home side from the first whistle. The defenders of VFA, Tshepo Makhopa, Msekeli Mvalo and the team’s skipper, Gerald Takwara, had no time to breathe. Realizing that the visitors were all over them, VFA were compelled to abandon their positions and pack themselves at the far back, relying on counterattacks.

The referee, Mr Thabo Mkhabela, flashed the first yellow card in the 18th minute. Katlego Ramonyai of VFA was booked for a late tackle on Mxolisi Khoza.

The only time VFA came close to scoring during the first half was when Tau Rankoko unleashed a powerful ground cutter from the edge of the box in the 34th minute. His attempt was blocked by Khoza, the captain of Sporting. No goal was seen during the first half, despite numerous attempts by the visiting side.

VFA strengthened their striking force by leaving Thembisani Nevhulamba and Thifhelimbilu Magalela in the dressing room during the half-time break. They were replaced by Jabulani Maluleke and Jabulani Shongwe respectively.

The wheel of fortune turned against the home side in the 59th minute. William Nkosi forced his way through the defence of VFA and beat the keeper with a ground cutter.

VFA lost hope after they were reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute.

The struggle for promotion will continue among the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women’s League this weekend.

All roads will lead to the Muziafera Grounds at Tshitungulwane Village outside Vuwani on Saturday afternoon, where the much-awaited Vhembe derby between Rodadau FC and Lacoste Morning Stars will take place. Morning Stars are still fresh from their 4-0 victory over Tshandama Young Stars at the Shayandima School Grounds last Saturday.

According to the managing director of Morning Stars, Mr Emmanuel Mudau, the team’s victory over Young Stars has injected a spirit of self-confidence into the players.

He revealed that their aim was to continue from where they left off last season. Morning Stars had completed their league programme on top of Stream B last season. They disappointed the fans when they failed to make the grade in the provincial promotional playoffs.

Two for Joy Ladies, who had recently bought their Sasol League franchise from Chippas United Ladies, will host University of Limpopo FC at the Tshirenzheni Grounds in the Nzhelele Valley. Two for Joy commenced their league programme with a 1-0 victory over Sealene Ladies at the Sealene Sports Grounds outside Phalaborwa.

Sealene Ladies will undertake a journey to Nwamitwa village outside Tzaneen. Their match against Sisters FC will be played at the Mandlakazi Dynamos Grounds. Real Mighty Ladies will host Merwe United Ladies at the Mavalani Grounds outside Giyani.
