Municipal CFO resigns “We need a capable CFO to be appointed,” urges DA

By Linda van der Westhuizen The chief financial officer (CFO) of the Makhado Municipality has resigned.

Mr Risimati Hitler Maluleke was to spend his last day as the local municipality’s CFO on 29 February. The reason for his resignation, given by Makhado Municipality spokesperson Mr Louis Bobodi, is that “he got an offer somewhere.”

It would later come to light that Maluleke had apparently accepted the job as CFO of the Greater Giyani Municipality.

Both the DA and COPE welcomed the resignation of Maluleke after both parties had earlier called for the resignation of both the municipality’s CFO and the municipal manager.

“The Makhado Municipality has once again received a disclaimer from the auditor general, which shows that the financial affairs of the municipality are in a poor state and have been for at least the last five years,” reads DA councillor Brian du Plooy’s statement.

The current budget and the municipality’s failure to implement that budget also came under scrutiny. “The current budget has yet again been adjusted by 17.6% on the budgeted operational income and the operational expenditure by 14.6%. The municipality undercollected revenue by R61 million. To have a budget year in and year out which cannot be implemented

properly, just to be adjusted because of the incapacity of employees, is unacceptable,” Du Plooy said.

COPE said that the resignation of the CFO was long overdue. The resignation “is happening just after COPE has made a call for the CFO, municipal manager and mayor to resign. Both the CFO and the municipal manager have failed to give good and clean administration of the municipality and its finances. The mayor, on the other hand, has failed ... to provide strategic political leadership, which leaves the Makhado Municipality’s administration in chaos,” said COPE’s Vhembe regional chairperson, Mr Geoffrey Tshibvumo.

“Stop all cadre appointments!” was the urgent plea of Du Plooy.

The DA warned that there was “interference by certain political figures in the finances of the municipality. For their own political gain, they prevent the finance department from running smoothly. We need a capable CFO to be appointed to enforce and implement the correct and effective financial procedures and planning, which will result in good service delivery to all the citizens of Makhado Municipality,” Du Plooy said.

Tshibvumo said that COPE called upon the municipality to replace the CFO with a skilled, competent, accountable and responsible CFO. “The Makhado

Maluleke obtained his BCom degree in 1985 at the former University of the North, now the University of Limpopo.

He worked as a business economist in the department of the Chief Minister of Gazankulu from 1991 to 1993. Thereafter he was appointed as assistant director of procurement, stores and transport in the office of the Premier. In 1997 he obtained a diploma in personal computing and a certificate in Pastel accounting through the Damelin School of Management.

From 2000 to 2002, Maluleke was responsible for supply chain management at Bushbuckridge Water. During this time he completed a course in basic finance through the Johannesburg School of Business and Finance, as well as a course in logistics and supply management through the University of Johannesburg. He was acting CFO at Bushbuckridge Water until 2006, when he became a part-time trainer at Human Capital Management Services in Johannesburg. Maluleke was appointed CFO at the Makhado Municipality in 2008.

An acting CFO for the municipality is Mr Hitler Maluleke, who resigned as the Makhado Municipality’s expected to be appointed this week.

Die bestuurder van Shatshane Systems Solutions het Dinsdag gesê dat die koste van die herbouing van die reservoir R9.5m bedra. Die voltooidatum is 4 Mei en hy is vol vertroue dat die projek voltooi sal wees.

DA raadslid Brian du Plooy sê dat daar ‘n oorhoofse analise van die waterkrisis moet wees, sodat daar vorentoe beweeg kan word met watervoorsiening. “Hoe kan dit so lank vat om ‘n kontrakteur aan te stel? Die raad en amp­ tenare moet leer om vinnig op te tree en dadelik te implementeer,” sê Du Plooy. Wat die beskerming van infrastruktuur betref, sê Du Plooy dat daar drie tot vier jaar gelede monitors by die toerusting geïnstalleer is wat dadelik waarsku as daar aan die toerusting gepeuter word. “Wat het daarvan geword? Dit is teen ‘n groot koste aangebring. As dit verdwyn het of nie meer benut word nie, dan kom dit neer op finansiële vermor­sing. Die munisipaliteit moet oor hulle toerusting en stelsels toesig hou en dit beskerm,” sê Du Plooy. Hy sê ook dat die heen en weer afskuiwery van verantwoordelikheid tussen die plaasike en distriksmunisiplaiteit ‘n onding is.

Nog ‘n belangrike vraag aan die distriksmunisipaliteit wat beantwoord moet word, is die voltooidatum van die pypleiding vanaf die Nandonidam na die Levubu-, Louis Trichardt-, Kutama- en Sinthumule-gebiede.

Dié pypleidings moet ook oorgedoen word, danksy swak werk deur kontrakteurs.

Ralushai het onderneem om die antwoorde per e-pos te stuur, maar dit is teen druktyd nog nie ontvang nie. Dieselfde tipe navrae is presies drie jaar gelede gerig toe die eerste kontrakteur afgedank is.

Die afgelope drie jaar ondervind die inwoners van veral die nuwe uitbreiding ‘n nypende tekort aan water en ly hulle onder die slakkepas waarmee die pro­bleme met die reservoir hanteer word.

Die belangrikste vraag wat nou gevra word, is of die bou, afbreek en herbou van die nuwe reservoir nie neerkom op vrugtelose vermorsing nie? Dit laat ook vrae onstaan oor hoe die tender in die eerste plek toegeken kon word aan 'n kontrakteur wat duidelik nie geweet het wat hy doen nie. Iets wat mnr. Herman Smith van die SBBV hinder, is die feit dat die reservoir op die ou basis gebou word. Wie sê die basis was nie ook foutief nie?

Die toesighouer op die terrein meen dat daar nie probleme met die basis is nie. “Die basis is goed, ons het dit laat bly,” sê die

“Wat gaan aan met die water?” was die vraag op inwoners van Louis Trichardt se droë lippe, nadat hulle verlede week weereens vir dae sonder water moes klaarkom.

“Belastingbetalers het my kort-kort gevra wanneer die water gaan aankom,” sê me.

Aretha Smit, bestuurder van die Soutpansberg Belastingbetalersvereniging (SBBV). Die watervoorsiening in groot gedeeltes van die dorp is onderbreek vanaf Woensdag, 22 Februarie. Teen Vrydagoggend het sommige gedeeltes se water aangekom en ander teen Saterdag.

Plaaslike oorsake van die chroniese watertekort word meesal gesien as infrastruktuur wat nie in stand gehou word of voldoende beskerm word nie.

Die woordvoerder van die Makhado Munisipaliteit, mnr. Louis Bobodi, het die Zoutpansberger laat verstaan dat laasgenoemde die oorsaak van die droë krane is. Volgens die inligting wat deur die SBBV verkry is, was dit noodsaaklik om ‘n nuwe pomp van ongeveer ‘n half miljoen rand op die Albasini waterlyn te vervang.

“Daar sou net ‘n kort wateronderbreking wees, maar toe die pomp aangeskakel word, brand ‘n elektriese gedeelte uit. Dit is die uitsortering van die kragprobleem wat so lank geneem het,” sê Smit.

Bobodi het gesê dat hy nie vrae oor water gaan beantwoord nie. Volgens hom moet vrae oor water voortaan aan die Vhembe Distrik Munisipaliteit (VDM) gerig word.

Asphalt shortage the reason for delay Rehabilitation of several streets in Louis Trichardt’s residential area is underway. The asphalt shortage in the country is said to have contributed to the delay in the completion of the street rehabilitation project, which commenced last year.

Roadworks in Munnik Street are in full swing, with Stubbs Street soon to follow. The rehabilitation of Munnik Street started on 13 February.

“The planned time for completion is 2 March this year, weather permitting,” the spokesperson of the Makhado Municipality, Mr Louis Bobodi, said last week.

“The roadbed and selected layers have been completed. The stabilization of the sub-base is in process, and the stabilization of the base and the kerbing are still outstanding,” Bobodi said, referring to Munnik Street.

will probably commence two weeks later, since the contractor is still busy in Munnik Street.

“We advise motorists to be patient and drive with care and adhere to road signs as only one lane of Stubbs Street will be in operation at a time,” Bobodi said. The contractor responsible for Munnik Street is Fantique Trade from Polokwane. Though very inconvenient for the residents of the street, road users remarked that the roadworks seemed to progress rapidly. Fantique Trade will also be responsible for the rehabilation of the part of Stubbs Street between Krogh and Burger Streets.

“Why can the road be excavated and the subbase be prepared so fast, while it literally took months in Anderson Street and the road is still not done?” is a question posed by residents.

Interestingly, the same company, Fantique Trade, was also responsible for Anderson Street.

“Anderson could have been completed long ago, if the supply of asphalt in the country had not come to a halt. The problem occurred in September last year. It has not been sorted out, but we have been waiting in the queue and have been allocated material,” said Fantique’s Project Manager on Tuesday.

Fortunately they have material to tar Anderson, as well as Munnik and Stubbs Street. Road surfacing of both Anderson and Munnik is expected to commence by the end of next week.

As recently as February it was reported that the country was still experiencing an acute shortage of bitumen, made from crude oil and used to produce asphalt, which is used in road construction. There are problems in Durban where the bulk of South Africa’s crude oil imports are offloaded. Maintenance complications at refineries are seen as the main cause of the shortage of bitumen (www.sabita. co.za). In the meantime, workers of the Blue Dot Company were busy with the kerbing in Anderson Street. “The base in Anderson Street already looks as if it needs to be redone,” remarked a resident on Monday.

Bobodi confirmed that there quality control of the work in Anderson Street had been done. “Yes , it was checked and it was good,” Bobodi said.

Three arrested for attack on Noor-family Police have arrested three men for their alleged involvement in the vicious attack on the well-known Noor family of Louis Trichardt.

Matome Andries Letsoalo (39), Epeton Rikhotso (27) and Rudolph Marakalala (20) were arrested last Thursday and Friday. Few can forget the attack on Mr Solly Noor and his wife Zohra in February of last year.

During the attack, Mr Noor was brutally beaten over the head by

one of the robbers.

The incident occurred when a group of robbers managed to overpower the guards outside the Noor residence in Eltivillas.

When Mr Noor went to check up on the guards, one of the robbers started to hit him over the head with a gun. Mrs Noor was also hit in the process of trying to protect her husband.

The robbers managed to escape with cell phones and jewellery which they took from the

Noor residence.

Letsoalo, Rikhotso and Marakalala appeared in the Louis Trichardt District Court on single counts of housebreaking with intent and attempted murder. The trio will remain in custody for another seven days in order for the police to arrange an identification parade. The Zoutpansberger can therefore not publish their photos yet.

They will appear in court on 7 March.

Vleifontein residents say Sanco’s march is just a plot against the mayor. They protested outside the Makhado municipal offices where Sanco handed over a memorandum last Friday.

Residents protest over poor services The residents of Waterwal township outside Elim raised their concerns with regard to service delivery in their area during a peaceful march that was held in Louis Trichardt last Friday.

Led by the South African Civic Organisation (Sanco), residents handed over a memorandum with their concerns to Makhado Mayor Cllr Mavhungu Luruli.

In the memorandum, residents demand the “immediate scrapping of all our debts, normalisation of water supply, establishment of a new graveyard,” and that the roads in the area “be rehabilitated, as we are living in a sloppy area.”

The residents also demand the extension of their township, a community hall, the fitting of Apollo lights “to reduce crime” as well as the refurbishment of the stadium. They also demand the creation of jobs. “As Sanco, we demand the normalisation of the water supply. Water is a source of life and a basic right,” said the chairperson of Waterval Sanco, Mr Thomas Chauke.

He added that they believed that their demands should be addressed “in order to avoid rolling protest marches, until our demands are taken seriously. We need answers in black and white within 14 days. If you fail to commit yourself, you will face the full might of Sanco,” he threatened.

The memorandum was handed to the mayor by the regional organising secretary of Sanco, Mr David Makananise.

Some residents of the nearby Vleifontein township, who also protested outside the municipality at the same time that Sanco was handing over the memorandum, allege that Sanco was being used to plot against the mayor. They also held placards, some of which read: “Hands off our mayor”, “Ludere is Malema’s milk boy”, and “viva Tshikalange, viva”.

Luruli said that the residents of Waterval and Sanco should have contacted their ward councillor before engaging in a march. “I am also suprised why Sanco is engaging in a march as they had approached me, saying that if ever there was a problem in the area, we would work together to address it,” she said.

She added that there was no way that the municipality could scrap the residents’ debt. “We promise to refurbish the streets, provided you pay your debt.

Some of the services have already been rendered to you,” Luruli told residents.

She appealed to residents to pay for the services, so that the municipality can address the problem of potholes.

Tydens Maandag se hofverskyning het Siebana skuldig gepleit op die klag teen hom. Na wat die koe­rant kon vasstel, was dié skuldpleit ooreenkomstig met ‘n reëling wat vooraf met die Staat getref is. Volgens dié reëling het die Staat ingestem dat die klagte teen die ander mans laat vaar word, mits Siebana skuldig sou pleit. Siebana is na sy pleit tot ses maande gevangenisstraf of ‘n boete van R5 000 gevonnis.

Die R1 000 borg wat Siebana se mede-beskuldiges met ‘n vorige hofverskyning betaal het, is weer aan hulle terugbetaal.

She said that her municipality had to cut on the operational budget and redirect some of the funds to capital expenditure. “We are embarking on a two-week programme, (during which) we will be fixing the potholes ourselves, together with the workers,” she said.

Luruli added that she also wanted to encourage and uplift the morale of the workers.

“This will help the municipality to improve its services,” she said, adding that she had also learnt while working on the project that there was a need to train the workers.

“We are therefore going to focus on improving the training of our workers,” said Luruli.

Project brings end to water worries In a unique venture, several organisations and individuals clubbed together to donate a R75 000 emergency water supply scheme to the residents of Laat Lente en Herfsakker in Louis Trichardt.

Eight water tanks with pressure pumps were installed on the premises of Laat Lente en Herfsakker through the combined efforts of Rotary, Round Table, the MOTHS, SACM,

Freemasons and Lucas Vermeulen.

The project was officially handed over last week.

Rotary’s Godfrey Went said at the handing over that the project was the first ever venture for which so many roleplayers had pooled their recources to assist a vulnerable part of the community.

On behalf of the residents of Laat Lente, Ms Jackie van Nie-

wenhuizen expressed profound joy over the project.

“This is a tremendous gift - a standby water reserve consisting of four water tanks. Thank you for your kindness - we feel truly blessed,” she said.

The project was installed just in time to save the residents from the serious privation of yet another unannounced cut in the municipal water supply, which lasted longer than 48 hours.

Enige iemand kan deelneem in spanverband, insluitend familie, groepe vriende, skole, sportklubs, besighede en selfs staatsdepartemente.

Spanne bestaan uit tien persone en deelname kos R500 per span. Geregistreerde spanne kan ook ‘n staanplek op die baan van ongeveer 3m x 4m kies en hul eie gazebo opslaan.

Daar is 148 staanplekke beskikbaar, asook 10 “prime” staanplekke teen R5 000 per span reg voor die verhoog. Belangstellendes word gevra om so gou moontlik ‘n span te registreer en ‘n staanplek te bekom, aangesien die tyd vinnig besig is om min te raak.

• EBENEZER MILE & 3000M SWIM The Ebenezer Dam will once again be

the venue for the very popular Ebenezer Mile & 3 000m swim on 18 March.

Men and women of all ages may enter this open-water mile (1 609m) swim.

The age categories are under 13 years, 14 to 30 years, and 31 years and older. There is also a 3 000m course for SA national “B” championship qualification.

The first race is at 08:00 (3000m), followed by the mile event at 10:00 for all female swimmers, with the three age categories swimming together.

The main event starts at 11:30 for males again the three age categories will swim the course together. A short-course development and introduction swim will take place 12:30. Race timing will be will be handled with electronic timing chips worn by competitors. Mile and 3000m entries on www.entrytime.com are R100 and the 500m swim costs R75.

Entries on the day will be charged at R125.

Policeman arrested over alleged bribe A police constable attached to the Waterval SAPS, Lesley Netshapala (35), appeared in the Waterval Magistrate’s Court last Thursday on a charge of demanding a bribe of R30 000. He will appear in court again on the 27th of March. He was released on bail of R1 500.

Netshapala was arrested in Valdezia last Wednesday when a man accused of cigarette smuggling claimed he had demanded a bribe. The policeman stopped a vehicle delivering smuggled cigarettes, but instead of arresting the smuggler, he allegedly demanded a R30 000 bribe, said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

The smuggler was released when he got a relative to deliver the money. He later reported the matter to the police.

According to the complainant, he was driving along the Vuwani road when he was stopped by the police. He was allegedly later approached by a single police officer, who told him he was being arrested for smuggling cigarettes.

The victim said that the police officer then phoned another policeman, who came and handcuffed him. When they were on their way, the policemen allegedly demanded money from him. He told them that he had only R5 000 in his possession. The victim further said that the police took the R5 000 and demanded another R30 000. “I phoned my friend and my wife to raise the money and directed them to send the money to Valdezia. I pleaded with him (Netshapala) not to make the amount R30 000, but he said foreigners had lots of

money.” The policeman was later arrested on suspicion of corruption and defeating the ends of justice. The police also recovered R10 000 from Netshapala.

Mulaudzi said the alleged smuggler would also be investigated, even though he was now a witness. He had not been arrested. Mulaudzi confirmed that R10 000 was recovered from the “cigarette smuggler” who was allegedly given the cash back by the suspect, who was trying to prevent the complainant from opening a case.

Brigadier Mulaudzi condemned the involvement of police officials in criminal activities. He reiterated that those who were still involved in criminal or corrupt activities would be exposed and “dealt with accordingly.”

Man commits suicide over watermelons An 84-year-old Beit Bridge man, Mr Salmon Mlilo, who could not continue to nurse the stress caused by some people straying into his field and stealing watermelons, decided to end it all by committing suicide.

He hanged himself from a tree.

Local police spokesperson C/ Supt Lawrence Chinhengo confirmed the incident, which occurred on Thursday at around 17:00 at Dendele Village outside Beit Bridge. “Earlier on the day

of the incident, the man had complained to his wife over the theft of watermelons by some people who were tresspassing in his field. He later left his homestead and went to a nearby bushy area where he hanged himself.

- Although all people are susceptible, lighter skins have less melanin to protect the skin from damage and are at greater risk.

- Melanoma type skin cancer is also linked to family history and the appearance of atypical moles. Though not cancerous themselves, these moles indicate a tendency toward inherited development of melanoma.

- The risk increases for non-melanoma skin cancer with repeated exposure to X-Rays, arsenic, coal tar and radioactive substances.

TYPES OF SKIN CANCER: There are two different types of skin cancer.

- Melanoma skin cancer, where the cancerous cells originate from the pigment-producing cells of the skin. This type is less common, but the most serious as it grows and spreads rapidly.

- Non-melanoma skin cancer is again divided into basal cell and squamous cell cancers.

Basal cell cancer is the most common type of skin cancer and rarely spreads to other parts of the body. In rare cases it can spread to the deeper layers of the skin and tissue or even muscle and bone. Squamous cell cancer is less common than basal cell cancer, but is more invasive.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF SKIN CANCER - Non-melanoma skin cancer usually presents as a change in the appearance of the skin such as a growth, irritation, a sore that does not heal or change in a wart or mole.

- Melanoma skin cancer can develop in an existing mole or skin mark (such as a birth mark) but can also appear on normal skin. It looks like a flat black or brown mole with an irregular asymmetrical border. It can be lumpy, rounded, change colour, bleed or ooze.

- Melanoma usually appears on the upper back and on the legs of women. It can however develop under nails, on the soles of feet, palms of hands and on the mucous membranes.

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT: - Skin cancer is diagnosed by biopsy of the affected skin.

- Skin cancers that have not spread are treated by surgical removal and regular check ups thereafter to detect any return.

- Skin cancers that have spread are treated by several chemotherapeutic drugs, but are rarely curable.

PREVENTION - The most important way to prevent skin cancer is by limiting sun damage: • Daily use of sun screen of SPF 15 or higher.

• Wear protective clothing such as wide brimmed hats, long sleeves and long pants.

• Stay out of the sun between 10:00 and 15:00 • Avoid sunbathing.

- Pay attention to any skin changes and seek medical attention promptly.

New interim board, but is everything in order at Makhado FM?

Is everything finally in order at the community radio station, Makhado FM? This is what a number of people have been asking, following the latest re-launch of the station and the appointment of a new (interim) board.

Makhado FM in Louis Trichardt made the news on several occasions over the past year amid reports of infighting and allegations of mismanagement. In January this year, the former station manager, Mr Moses Muneri, was arrested for allegedly stealing a radio transmitter and he was also accused of the mismanagement of funds. These accusations will still be tested in court.

The radio station further had to fend off several creditors, one of them being the landlord who is allegedly owed more than R700 000 in rent.

The municipal bill of the station is said to be far in arrears and Telkom discontinued its service a few years

ago, following payment problems.

All of this is behind them, however, and things are starting to look a lot better, reckons the station's new management team under the leadership of the new CEO, Mr Junior Ramovha.

The station introduced their new board to members of the press last Saturday. Among the board members are people who were involved when the station was started a few years ago, such as Kedibone Makwarela and Roddy Sibiya.

During the press conference, Mr Ramovha was asked about the legal obligations of the radio station, such as making audited financial statements available and having an annual general meeting to which all stakeholders in the community are invited.

station must also have meetings with the community where they report back on issues.

Mr Ramovha chose not to respond to these and other questions posed to him and referred them to the station manager, Mr Takalani Khomola. Mr Khomola later stated that the new board is only an interim board. This was in sharp contrast to the announcement made during Saturday's press conference.

From what could be established, the (interim) board of Makhado FM was elected three weeks ago. It seems highly unlikely that audited financial statements are available and these have apparently not been available for a number of years.

On the issue of outstanding debt, Khomola first answered that he was busy negotiating terms with the landlord, so that he could pay back the money.

He later said that he had already paid the landlord R3 000. He then contradicted himself when he stated that there was no proof that the radio station owed such an amount for rent, adding that if the landlord could provide proof, the station would pay the money.

Khomola announced that the radio station would hold its AGM on 28 April. Asked about the financial statements, Khomola said: "I can only provide (statements) from (the

time) when I was appointed station manager. The public is welcome to come and check the financial statements."

He confirmed, however, that the legal battles between the radio station and the former station manager, Mr Muneri, are continuing.

Mr Junior Ramovha appealed to people to continue trusting Makhado FM. "We are also appealing to the business community to work with the radio station. It can not function properly without funds. We need to reach out and establish friends of Makhado FM," said Ramovha.

The new (interim) board and staff seem to have some troubled waters in front of them and some hard work will have to be done if they want to reach calm waters. The latest RAMS figures, which measure radio audiences, put the station's total listenership at 23 000. This is almost half that of the figure two years ago and way behind other community radio stations in the province, such as Univen FM (148 000). The station has to fight for a part of the advertising cake with SABC stations such as PhalaPhala FM. The station also has to deal with strict licencing requirements, which prescribe that they broadcast in other indigenous languages such as Xitsonga, Sepedi and Afrikaans. Currently, the station is biased towards Tshivenda and English.

Principal scoops up prestigious award

“I never expected to be the recipient of this prestigious award,” said Mr Henry Denner, principal of Louis Trichardt High School upon receiving an award in the Leadership Section at the annual Calvary Community Empowerment Award function.

Awards were presented to 22 recipients on 25 February at the function hosted at the Calvary Christian Church Centre in Lwamondo. An audience of about 2 000 cheered the recipients.

The different sections in which the awards are made include leadership, sport, culture, economic development, community development, religion, media, education and impairment. There were two recipients in each category.

Denner’s leadership skills, selflessness and generosity had been noticed.

“Your life has clearly communicated the message that ‘a man’s greatness is not determined by what he receives, but by what he gives’. With this award we are saying, ‘Don’t grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap the harvest,” reads the message by Dr AM Masakona, the president and founder of Calvary Churches.

“This award is truly a good motivation to continue,” Denner said. Denners’s spouse, Ms Adri Denner, accompanied him to the function “We met very interesting people. The two recipients with physical impairments, Ms Matodzi Phasha and Ms Masingita Masungu, really touched my heart. They reached great heights in spite of their physical challenges,” Denner said. Jessica McMurtrie, O/19-atleet van Hoërskool Louis Trichardt, ontvang die trofee vir die beste senior meisiesveldatleet tydens die jaarlikse interhoër atletiekbyeenkoms wat op 24 Februarie by die Peter Mokaba stadion in Polokwane aangebied is. Jessica het baie goed presteer in gewigstoot. Ses skole het deelgeneem. Die Triegie meisiesatlete het ‘n derdeplek behaal,die seuns ‘n vierdeplek en die skool het algeheel vierde geëindig. Die eerste drie skole is Pietersburg Hoërskool, Merensky en Tom Naudé, wat 10 punte meer as die Triegies behaal het. Die sangbeker het aan Hoërskool Frans du Toit gegaan. “Die Triegies op die pawiljoene was ongelooflik gedissiplineerd en ons is trots op hulle,” sê die skoolhoof, mnr.
