We hook up with Thakhani Ramufhufhi, a young professional sound engineer who is very versatile and fully charged with energy. He is now working with SABC and there is only one thing that defines him “ambitious and focused”. I studied computer science at the University of Venda and Sound engineering and productions at Sound of Sounds. * You do music we understand, any plans of releasing your own Album?

As for music I’m working with a few unreleased artists planning to release a group project soon. * Did you ever think you’d get this far as a youngster?

Yeah, I have a strong belief in dreams, and for me it’s just the beginning, I still have a long way to go to reach where I want to see myself. * How is your daily routine at work and what do you do during your spare time?

At work I’m always quite busy as I’m dealing with all 18 stations, so I’m always in front of my computer then run around sometimes fixing technical errors lol.

During my spare time I make music, read and go out with my friends, that’s it. * Girls would like to know about this one, are you available or taken?

Lol nah I’m taken Bro! * What are your future plans as far as your career is concerned?

I want to switch from radio to television operations and I also want to be involved with video productions.

As for music my vision is to establish as many good artists as I can and bring in something new in the music scene. * Three things you cant live without?

** Makoya for Love with T-man Gavini ** After our last Article on T-man Gavini looking for love, his phone has been ringing non-stop. From different single ladies asking for friendship, his face book is floating with ladies’ requests asking him out, funny enough even guys. An insider told us that he was spotted flirting with Ghetto Queen at the show. They were all cozy and pulling disappearing acts, said a close friend. They were spotted again together the following day; I wonder what’s going on here?

Guys, if there is something going on please tell us. It’s Kwaito King versus Kwaito Queen. Nowadays everywhere when T-man performs, Ghetto Queen will be there too. They will both be Judges @ Far North Talent Competitions on the 07th April Shumapark. Yerrr, you are watched!

I think they chose them according to the music genre. What about Bellafonte? Don’t worry my boy, Beetles might be next. Who knows!

Tshidino also added that the label played off her sexy persona, style, and attitude and targeted the 10 to 40-year-old group. “My branding will appeal to those who want to support my products,” Tshidino said. This hard worker from Tshakhuma also has an eye for movies. He completed 7 movies to date. His first movie, Hu do dzula nnyi featured Muvhango actors, VhoMukondeleli and Vho-Masindi.

Tshidino is also shooting a scary movie titled “Nwana O Ngalangala” which is scheduled for release in June this year. The movie has been funded by Dzhatsha Films.

Ingredients * Tomato & onion mix * Mushrooms * Bacon * Sweet Whole Kernal Corn * Fresh cream * Cheese * Tamaric powder * Chilli powder * Cumin powder * Onions * Cinnamon stick * Oil Method Fry onion and cinnamon stick together until onion is golden brown.

Add 2tsp chilli powders, 1tsp tumaric, ½tsp cumin - all at once.

Then immediately add tomato & onion mix (Found in tin form).

To the whole mix add salt and 1spn of sugar (Depending on how sour your tomatoes are,) In a separate pan, fry mushrooms (500g) adding just a little (1 crushed clove) garlic, Fry Bacon separately (250g), When done with all of the frying, cook pap not too stiff and not soft it should be in between.

When pap is cooked spread it out on

oven pan, then when cooled down add the corn.

Mixing First add the tomato mix in the pap, then the mushrooms mix, then the bacon. Mix well with the pap Then add cream stirring it through your pap mixture. Before putting into the oven. Sprinkle some cheese over the whole pan.

Bake at 180 degrees For 30min Serves good with a braai and salads

Mulalo Hulumeni (14) came to Makoya’s offices to fetch 100 Papers

by Liesl Jobson, a book that she had won in one of the Makoya give-away competitions. The Makoya team joined her for a pic.

She produced a file in which she keeps past issues of Makoya. Soon she was showing us an exercise book filled with poems, and instantly she became ‘A Gal of da Moment’.

“I thank Makoya for having been part of my life so far,” Mulalo says profusely. “Some people used to discourage me at school, when they saw me writing poems. But I didn’t listen to what they were saying.”

She says that her mom motivates her to continue reading poetry and trying her hand at it, and she does.

Not long ago, one of her poems, “I AM AN ACHIEVER”, was published in Makoya. Mulalo is a Grade 9 pupil at Makhado Comprehensive High School, and her favourite subjects are Life Orientation and English.

This gal’s ambition is to become a social worker and newsreader, but she is quick to add that she won’t leave writing poetry behind. “My love of poetry drives me insane,” so says words inscribed on the cover of her exercise book.

“What I can say to my peers out there is this: Never allow anyone to trample on you,” she says, looking quite serious for her age. “Stay away from things like alcohol, smoking and wasting your time doing nothing. Now concentrate on your studies.”

Life goes on for Shandukani Netsianda

Shandukani Netsianda is a 19-yearold, Grade 8 pupil at Mudinane Secondary School at Vhangani Village.

At the age of two, he lost first his Makoya in the company of LoveLife, father, after a long illness, and then drove all the way from Louis Trichardt his mother followed shortly. In 2008, Shandukani met LoveLife goGogetter, Vho-Grace Mabadzhe. She acted as his morale developer, and that alone helped strengthen Shandukani’s character. He was back in school, and active.

Today Shandukani aspires to work in the police field upon completion of his studies, but he adds that, if he does not manage to study in that field, since his academic progress is not that satisfactory, he would like to study carpentry at a skills institution.

Vho-Grace describes Shandukani as a positive persone, who will one day get somewhere in life. “He is a strong friend of my own granddaughter Vhuyi,” she says.

Vhuyi Maphasha (18), a Grade12 pupil at Mudinane, says that Shandukani does not confide in her.

“He’s had wrong friends before,” she says. “He can’t tell you everything

and I think it’s not good because it eats him alone. Even though I am in Grade12 myself, we study together.”

During our conversation with Shandukani, the best thing that strikes one about him is his sweet smile. This smile sticks in my mind vividly, as we drive back to Louis Trichardt.

What is happening to Rasta’s this year? It’s like Dreadlocks getting out of fashion, maybe its Mo hog year. First it was it was Mizophyll now its Post, I hope you still remember where you put them. Ek se, you might need them.

He has been around and still keeping cool, His name is Usher Raymond.

He was in the country a couple of days back performing at Orlando Stadium. From the days of “you got it bad”, he is back with a wonderful jam “climax”. I have heard few remixes of this song and it just doesn’t lose its vibe. The moment I listened to this song I wasn’t sure if I love it because of the influence and I decided to keep it on repeat just to find out, it is just magic. His name is Usher and I guess it means something to you!
