A Storekeeper will work under the direct supervision of Logistics Assistant/Officer and overall supervision by Head of Field Office/Head of Logistics. S/he will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

The Logistics Associate will be stationed in Vientiane and will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Logistics. He/she will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
Experience and skill: y y At least two years of practical progressively responsible experience in logistics operations, warehousing and storage, supply chain management, administration, commodity management, accounting or related field. y y Experience using computers, information systems, and logistics databases is critical y y Experience managing warehouses with food and non-food items and managing inventories. y y Knowledge of warehouse management, commodity and inventory management and handling processes and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities y y Provide specialized support to logistics operations and activities, following standard processes and contributing, directly or indirectly, to the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries. y y Coordinate requisitioning and ensure timely delivery of commodities and supplies to authorised partners and destinations. y y Manage logistics vendors’ contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement. y y Identify, resolve and/or provide recommendations on specialised queries/requests for support, using initiative and following standard processes, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of enquiries with excellent client service mind-set. y y Provide oversight for inventory management (e.g. physical stock verification, reporting, etc.), to ensure any existing and developing issues with regards to proper stocks management are timely addressed and WFP standard procedures for commodity handling and storage are strictly followed. y y Analyse operational pipeline and contribute to assessments and operational planning for all delivery modalities, to ensure that supply chain requirements are taken into consideration. y y Manage documentation processing for execution of logistics operations (e.g. customs clearance, invoice verification), take appropriate actions to resolve operational issues escalating complex issues to the supervisor. y y Perform research, collect data and conduct analysis, produce reports (e.g. SPRs, financial closure, physical inventory, transport performance) and ensure information accuracy in corporate systems to enable informed decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities y y Effectively receive/dispatch commodities including transhipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards. y y Prepare, verify and sign off warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements. y y Conduct daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks supporting internal control systems in compliance with the warehouse management requirements. y y Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received / dispatched and handled, detect promptly and analyse reasons for stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantity and prepare warehouse loss reports recommending appropriate solutions, to enable informed decision-making. y y Implement appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor. y y Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions, to support efficient warehouse space-planning and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards. y y Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff to contribute to their development and high performance.

As part of its FY16-20 Strategic Plan, WWF-Laos is implementing a comprehensive freshwater conservation programme in its Priority Landscapes and Priority Sites, aligned with the WWF International Network’s Water Practice. This includes protecting key water ecosystems, key species, reducing illegal fishing practices, ensuring fishing becomes sustainable and does not negatively impact biodiversity, and increasing the total size of protected river areas. The Lao Thai Fisheries Project (LTF), supported by WWF Switzerland, starts in April 2016 and runs for 3 years. The project focuses on two provinces along the middle Mekong main stem. The main objective of the project is to increase and improve the stock of aquatic resources through the establishment of fisheries co-management structures, scientific research on fish species, and support the improvement of local livelihoods. WWF-Laos is looking for a talented candidate to fill the position of Lao-Thai Fisheries Project Manager / Water Coordinator. The Lao-Thai Fisheries Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of the project (direct implementation, including responsibilities for technical, financial and administrative aspects of the project) and is also the WWF-Laos Water Coordinator, responsible for supervising and providing support to all water/fisheries-related staff in the Country Office, in alignment with WWF’ Water Practice (water and fisheries technical assistance).
