EDITORIAL –

Christmas is not that innocent anymore... Every year we see how the true meaning of Christmas is vanishing without leaving any trace... I have no idea how Christmas was at the time it came to be, at the beginning of the 3rd century approximately, when Christianity was at its peak. However, I do know what it has become today, an unstoppable frenzy of consumerism, in which the big companies and marketing rub their hands hoping to catch the biggest possible number of preys... We are filled with a completely unjustified stress, dragged to a numbing search for presents, to end up eating until we drop. Way too many lights and lights and more sparkles, to what end? Isn’t it precisely to try to mislead us so we can’t see reality in full clarity? This is the sad perception I have of Christmas, perception also shared by most of the photographers we have chosen for this Special Christmas Issue. For that reason we wanted to show you, through the eyes of these fantastic artists, "Modern Christmas". Here we go... Director & Editor in Chief Laura Punteri
