ccasionally, I get asked whether I prefer to visit the sea or mountains. This is quite simply an impossible question for me because, personally, I love both. The sea arouses the romance within me, the constant sound of waves kissing the beach paired with the sound of coconut trees swaying with the soft, refreshing sea breeze. I think the coast is the perfect location to express your love, or even propose and have a wonderful beach wedding. On the other hand, mountains are full of mysteries, from the charm of the mist, to the beauty of flowers blossoming in truly majestic valleys. Mountains, like the sea, are also very romantic, especially during winter, and they are a formidable contender to the sea when it comes to honeymoon destinations. Winter, the season of romance, is fast approaching, and it is time for many couples to look for a captivating destination for an intimate journey. This edition

Thailand announced the winner of Amazing Journey Blogging Contest 2015 at Centara Grand at Central World Bangkok on the 23rd floor. The contest attracted up to 50 top travel bloggers of Thailand to attend. The attendants were separated into 12 groups, doing a traveling quest and reviewing 12 “must go” provinces

in Thailand. The result was revealed by 4 honored judges from TAT office. T08 team, which went to Buriram, won the first prize with Mr.Chaton Chokpattara, the editor of 24Life Magazine (who also hosts www.gotravelphoto. com) capturing first place. Thanks to TAT for arranging this creative campaign which used online media to freshen up Thailand’s tourism industry.

he winds of winter blow as T if telling couples and travelers alike to lovingly feel the cool
breezes and fog together on the high cliffs of the north. It is not surprising that the mountainous regions in northern Thailand are crowded with people who flock to experience the stunning nature and share romantic times which happen just once a year between November and February.
“Everybody goes to Pai” is a phrase which has been heard for more than 10 years. Pai is a small district in Mae Hong Son province and is surrounded by glorious mountains. The clear water in the river slowly flows through this little town freshening people’s hearts. The abundance of chic resorts which line the banks of the river are waiting for travelers to visit and relax in. And in the morning, you can take a deep breath of fresh air in the middle of a white mist with your special one beside you. Pai is an ancient city of The Lanna Kingdom. Its culture is a rich blend of Shan, Vietnamese and Karen tribe. Visitors to Pai experience a way of life of years gone by as if time travel were really possible. When wandering around the local temples, you will find lots of amazing Shan-influenced Buddhist art and architecture. Pagodas, Buddhist statues, wall mounted art, woodcrafts and stained glass decorations have added even more value to this wonderful town driving all to want to know more about it. Traveling to Pai is a bit difficult as there is no plane transportation. The only way to get there is to take a car or a bus through hilly mountains on a curvy road with 1,864 curves! From Chiang Mai, you need to take a road to Mae Sariang and drive until you reach Pai. When you reach the city, you will realize that it is worth the journey because of Pai’s beauty, serenity and charm. A place of true relaxation. For couples who are looking for privacy, Pai is a fine choice. Indeed, Pai has in the past and continues to be selected as a location for popular Thai romantic movies. “The Letter” and “Rak Jang” were both shot there because of its sweet atmosphere.

Chalermchai Mahagitsiri
halermchai Mahagitsiri or C Kueng is the first son of Prayudh Mahagitsiri, a shareholder
of Nestlé Coffee Factory (Nescafé). Through their many businesses the Mahagitsiri’s are one of the richest families in Thailand. Chalermchai finished his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Suffolk University, United States then went on to earn his Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Boston University, United States. He returned to Thailand and spent time in the entertainment industry. As expected, he then stepped both feet into the business arena to carry on his father’s work. One of his greatest successes to date is when he took over the stock market listed Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA). He successfully lead a loss making enterprise back into profitability. Kueng took the chair and became an Executive Committee member and the CEO.

He remarkably turned around the crisis at TTA converting the operating loss into an operating profit. By converting TTA which was a cruise line company into a holding company, Keung enabled the company to do various kinds of businesses and thus maintain a net yield. Fast forward to the present day the company earns income from a wide range of investments. TTA maintains its presence in the transportation industry namely, the dry bulk shipping business, petroleum tanker business, and shipping services businesses. The company also has interests in the energy industry, providing offshore services to the oil and gas industry through Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited. Other investments cover the coal industry, a logistics business and stock ownership in Unique Mining Services Public Company Limited.
A further interest is in Baconco Company Limited, a remarkable company manufacturing and selling fertilizer in Vietnam. Baconco is now listed on the Thailand stock market. In addition to this long list of investments, TTA has also put money into Sino Grandness Food Industry Group Limited, a Chinese manufacturer and distributor of juice. Kueng, the eager young businessman holds true to his father’s words: Study thoroughly and gain the right information before making any decision. Once investing in something, take good care of it and make it strong and resilient. Investing is like raising a child, one needs to care for him until he has grown up and has a good life. Kueng says that being a great businessman’s son is very challenging. The obvious benefit is that you get to have a platform to launch from, however; it is quite tiring when you didn’t build the platform yourself as you have to study the work of others. With this in mind Kueng took his time learning his father’s system and processes, remembering what his father had said to him that to earn something is hard but to maintain it is even harder. Kueng’s father taught him many other lessons, such as, to always think hard before doing something, not be scared to make decisions and be able to accept the outcome because everything is an experience. Business is similar to life, there are rights and wrongs in it. All you have to do is to learn them along the way. Being a businessman is in Kueng’s blood. What he calls his hobby is doing business that he enjoys. He has an entertainment business and arranged a Korean star concert in Thailand, he owns a Japanese noodle (ramen) restaurant and owns a franchise of French Macaron brand Pierre Hermé. His reason for his investments in the food business is that he is interested in the hospitality industry. When he has a hard day at work, he will come to serve ramen in the evening if he has time. He feels good to see the happy faces of people eating in his restaurant. Similarly when he arranged a concert, he got to see people having fun. He has a good time making gifts for customers at Pierre Hermé shop as well.

place. The 61 year-old-Swedish conceptual -to-sculptural artist and Chiang Mai- based traveler shows some pre-eminent and cool bronze in different postures, fun and surprisingly abstract-looking art pieces, amongst a bunch of other budding tools. We had a chat with him below.

Did you grow up with any artistic-related family? Everybody on my mother side works with the theatre as actors. My grandmother, grandfather, and mother are all actors. My father was like a food guru of Sweden, he was really creative and he’s like the legendary chef. He was like the first superstar chef in the movie.

Please describe the space where you do most of your works and all creativity. In Sweden, my works are created in my homey studio in Stockholm and also in my country house. In Chiangmai, I would have an idea after being relaxed and meditated .The actual situation when I get inspired or I get ideas can vary. I don’t have a work schedule. I actually work when I have an idea.
Tell us a little bit about your own unique work and your signature style. I make what pops up in my head. I work on conceptual reflections. I like to make arts for people to think by themselves. I don’t lead what people think and I won’t tell them “You should think like this and that.”
What does your schedule look like? What do you usually do in every single day? I have no idea. It’s always different. I must confess I like to sleep in the morning and prepared myself really late. As the artist, you don’t have any vacation. You have to turn on the thinking mind all the time, but I like to take it easy. But when I’m hooked on something, I’ll do it without any hesitation.
What food, drink, or song inspires you? What inspires me is quietness. Silence makes me relax and that inspires some of the best ideas sometimes. Your favorite or most inspirational place? Chiang Mai. I love the climate which totally differs from where I came from. The people are friendly and I love the moment when they talked and ideas stayed, some crazy different ideas happened during our conversations. Artists like to show the world the way they see in different angles and that, I think, is very important.
您是从小生长在一个和艺术有关 的家庭吗？ 我母亲的家庭每个人都来自于戏剧 演员。我的奶奶，爷爷，和母亲都 是演员。我父亲是一个瑞典美食专 家，一个非常有创意的传奇大厨， 就像电影里面的超级明星一样。 哪里是您的这些作品和全部创意 的地方？ 我的大部分作品都在我自己老家瑞 典斯德哥尔摩家里的工作室完成。 在清迈的话，大部分想法来源于在 休闲和冥想之后。其实我大部分的 创意和灵感都很多样化。我并没有 固定的工作日程，我工作的时候就 是我创意来的时候。 能告诉我们一些关于您独一无二 地的作品和您专属的风格吗？ 我的作品都是我一些脑子里突发奇 想的东西，一些概念性的映像。我 喜欢做一些作品能引起人们自己思 考的东西，而不是我引领着人们去 思考，或者说是告诉他们你应该这 样或那样的去认为我的作品。
What’s the weirdest idea you have with your works? And what’s the popular work created by such weird idea? My big favorite is the foot, Big Foot! It’s crazy in some way, yet it’s really cool. The other one is 0+0=8 which was like a game but visual art also. And my current, but not completed yet, is the fountain in the form of dragon. I like doing what I’ve never made before and I really love to learn new techniques from new pop-up ideas. I get bored when I feel like I did these particular things before. But if there’s something impossibly challenging, it can drive me to do more.
What can we expect to see more from your works? 99.9% of what I do, you can see in Sweden. I am like a world famous only in Sweden but nowhere else. I have my website but I did not update since 2008 and I am not interested in such process. I mean when I was young it’s important to promote yourself. I am not young anymore and I don’t need people know me everywhere.
你的工作日程是怎样的？你平时 每天都做些什么？ 我不太清楚。日程表一直都是不固 定的。我只能说我喜欢在早晨才睡 觉，然后会很晚才给自己做好一切 准备。作为一个艺术家，你得承认 没有假期这一说。你不得不时时在 思考。但是我自己更喜欢轻松点的 方式，还有就是当我有什么创意的 时候我会毫不犹豫的去做。
在您的作品里面什么是您最特立 独行的创意？哪个是您特立独行的 创意创作的最得意的作品？ 我最爱的是脚，大脚！虽然很疯 狂，但是这特别有型。另外一个 就是0+0=8的像游戏一样的视觉 艺术。而我现在在做的一个作品还 没有完成，一个像龙一样的喷泉。 我喜欢做一些我之前从未做过的东 西，而且我非常热爱从一些脑子里 蹦出来的想法里学习新的技巧。我 很觉得很无聊当我觉得这些东西已 经创作过了，但是如果那里有东西 是值得我区挑战超越的，我会不由 自主的去做这些东西。
有什么食物，饮料或者歌曲带给 您灵感的吗？ 平静才是我的灵感来源。沉默让我 放松，有时候还会带给我一些非常 棒的创意。 您有特别喜欢或者带给您灵感的 地方吗？ 清迈。我喜欢这里的气候，和我的 家乡是一个完全不一样的地方。这 里的人们非常友好，而且我喜欢有 时候我们交谈之后带给我的灵感， 一些非常疯狂的创意就发生在我们 交谈的时候。我认为作为艺术家最 重要的就是你能展示给人们从你这 个角度看到的世界。
您的作品有什么是值得我们期待 去欣赏的呢？ 我创作的百分之九十九的作品，你 都可以在瑞典看到。我看似世界 级出名的大师，其实我只在瑞典比 较出名罢了。我有自己的个人网站 但是从2008年起我就再也没有更 新了，因为我不太喜欢搞这些东西 了。我的意思是我年轻气盛的时候 是为了让自己被认可，但现在我已 经不再年轻了，我不需要让全世界 的人都认可我了。 24LIFE M a g a z i n e l 67
