Rupesh and Archana Baid of ..and design co. display a perfect synergy while creating the design basics of this duplex apartment in Chennai. With a subliminal mix of luxury and comfort, the enthralling interiors tickle the senses .The modern intricate design phenomenon is swept throughout this majestic apartment. The floor to ceilings blend in contemporary designs, speaking in volume of the thorough choices and picks that goes into making this a one of its kind space. The 4,000 sq. ft. area ornated with wallpaper, elegant lighting and marble flooring lavishing the senses with creative textures, is designed for a family of four. The innovative traces of glass railings and smartly placed luxurious furniture, spread across in seamless manner give out an overall appeal of ecstasy and euphoria. The word neutral may seem boring. However, a neutral home can also feel quite calming and cozy. The usage of neutral, dark color palettes throughout spaces, creates a sense of calm here. This home is modern with a clear emphasis on clean, straight lines and flat planes. Every edge is perfectly placed to draw the eye around the room to each squared away surface. The colors used may not be very lively, dramatic or whimsical, but they do serve to create a sense of calm in each room. So is the case with the perfect mix of lighting and fixtures to enhance the mood and colors of the home.

STRUCTURING DEPARTMENTS White and grey ceiling panels, natural stone tiles, filigree copper wire, wood and emotional colours like rose convey a Scandinavian flair to the new designed women’s world on the ground floor of the fashion house Leffers. A special challenge: the depth of the sales floor. By visually reducing it through a house-in-house structure, the pathway through the departments becomes more eventful and intuitional. Individual floors for Casual, Cashmere, Trousers and Accessories as well as shops were created. The center area, visible from all angels, offers white wall panels with integrated copper wires as reference points.

Each city has its very own distinct character. Dilli is the land of the dilwallahs. The houses in Delhi have a clear cut air of larges spaces, glamour and individual style statements mixed with a rural and sometimes rustic aura to the whole place. Perhaps because the rural and urban coexist and collide often that this Delhi aura is very visible in all homes here.

There is a strong relationship that the client has sought to be built into this house with the courtyard which is the central fulcrum of the home. All the various ends of the house meet at the courtyard which draws its sustenance from the basic elements of life itself, air, water, earth. The name given to the house thus a “Courtyard House is connecting all its residents to nature and constantly drawing from nature to sustain. The courtyard hence serves as a focal point for the entire architecture and the landscape. The house is conceptualized as a performative architecture and landscape design with a carefully interwoven built-form that strongly responds to the site context. Kitchens as Social Spaces Young Kitchens The new and young kitchen is distinctly different from the old concept of kitchens. A hands on, fun place for food and frolic. Preparing for the evening of food, drink and conversation, Googling new recipes and trying out different cuisine. This is a nuclear home where the couple, both working, seek the kitchen as the space to unwind and perhaps spend quality time together. It’s an exciting time to be in the kitchen. People are exploring new ways to discover recipes, get healthier and become better cooks with the help of technology. This is the time when appliance manufacturers are constantly seeking to improve products and create friendly and funky gadgets. Large manufacturers such as GE and Whirlpool create hardware incubators and utilize crowdfunding to test new
