The Magical Gummy Bear!? by Sofia Merino, age 13 There once were two friends named Sofia and Itzel. They are both in middle school and they have a lot in common like listening to music, mostly pop, they’re both funny and they like to have bubble tea. Their school was going to have a field trip to Paris and to Costa Rica, they were both ready for the winter break to begin. Itzel and Sofia were waiting in the airport with their whole class. Everyone was so excited to go to Paris and Costa rica. The whole class went to go get snacks before they were going to board on the airplane. Itzel had to use the bathroom so she told Sofia to go with her and they both went. When they were in the bathroom they heard, “Now boarding gate 24 to Paris.” Itzel and Sofia weren’t paying attention and their class had already left until Itzel said, “Hey isn’t that our flight?” “Yeah that is, but we still have time,” said Sofia. When they got there they saw no one there and thought that their class already left. So they asked the flight attendant if their class had already left and the flight attendant said yes, they both had to wait half an hour for their flight to board again. For now they both tried to take a nap but they couldn’t because they were scared. They thought that they were going to miss their flight again. So they went to go and get snacks like gummy bears and Hot Cheetos. Sofia tried a gummy bear and teleported to Paris. Itzel was still in the airport so Sofia called Itzel to tell her to eat a gummy bear and teleport to Paris. So Itzel did what Sofia did and then arrived in Paris with their whole class. At last now Sofia and Itzel now know to not wander off and stick with their class to not miss their flight again.
