Hypnotic World of 3D Visuals This is the fif th film adaptation of the famed novel, with powerhouse celebrities Leonardo DiCarpio and Carey Mulligan por traying the lead roles. Luhrmann went all out in capturing the grand architectures and the flashy lifest yles of the rich in 1920s America by utilising 3D motion-capture technology and wide angled lenses. Another highlight of the film is the alluring costumes worn by the characters, helmed by t wo times Oscar winning costume designer Catherine Mar tin. Collaborating with fashion giants Brooks Brothers and Miuccia Prada in creating the glamorous costumes, the film has superbly replicated the ex travagant st yle of 1920s America elite societ y. In all honest y, it is wor th buying another ticket just to enjoy the visual feast created by t wo high fashion empires.

The Alluring Cinematic Experience with Prada X Brooks Brothers Director Ba z Luhrmann has previously collaborated with Miuccia Prada in Romeo + Juliet, hence the latest collaboration was a natural procession. Modelled af ter Prada and Miu Miu’s signature designs, an ex tensive inclusion of gold and silver satins, fur, and sequins were used in for t y of the 1920s inspired vintage costumes and accessories. The breathtaking beaut y exuded by the film’s female lead Carey Mulligan is a memento of the sophistication that Prada and Miu Miu have imprinted in the fashion industr y over the past t wo decades.

Whereas Leonardo DiCarprio’s sleek por trayal of the wealthy titular character is amplified by Brooks Brothers’ bespoke 1920s high societ y’s menswear. Established in 1818, much of Brooks Brothers’ designs are modelled af ter the 1920s fashion era, tailoring over five hundred of men’s clothing in the film. To mark the prestigious occasion, the brand has launched a limited The Great Gatsby collection of men’s apparel available at selected stores, which will include vests, bow ties and suspenders similar to the ones worn by the protagonist in the film. The film depicts the stor y of Nick Carraway’s life changing encounter with the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby during his journey to New York in 1922 to pursue the American dream. As the mysterious and hopeless romantic Jay Gatsby becomes at tracted to Nick’s cousin Daisy, Nick is then brought into the lavish world of Gatsby.
