Student Council Primary Student Leaders introduced the concept of ‘Play Buddy’ as a way to encourage and build friendships during play time. This was also a great way for our new students to feel welcomed and part of our caring ACG community. It is our 3rd week of executing this idea, which happens every Friday, during snack time. Primary Student Leaders use this time to encourage students to play and build new friendships. Our project leader for Play buddy, Nur Ivy from Year 4 shared, “Play buddy has been really famous now as all students want to join the activities we organize. We try to first have a walk and see if anyone is alone, we then encourage them to join us for a short play. We sometimes even read books to the lower-level students. We hope students will continue loving our play buddy idea. Next week YEAR 6 will oversee the play buddy activity. We also thank all our friends for working together with us during this time.” Look out for Play Buddies every Friday (they will be wearing a special sash).
At ACG School Jakarta, we pride ourselves on having some of the most amazing and gifted students and teachers. What other way to showcase these talents than a fun talent show? However, because of this pandemic, we were unable to present these talents in person. Well, the student council took this into their own hands and decided to host ACG’s first-ever virtual talent show called “ACG’s Got Talent”. Through this, students and faculty were able to record videos without stepping out of their homes. The student council then collected these videos and compiled them into one video. We were able to witness a variety of talents ranging from singing and dancing, to cool athletic tricks. This was a great way to end the first semester and celebrate everyone’s individuality. We hope that this event was memorable for all, and a joyous end to Semester One. If you have not already done so, please check out the video on our ACG School Jakarta YouTube channel!
