from your Pastor OUR DEDICATION in fulfilling the Great Commission surely pleases God. It is because He is delighted whenever we do His will. Hence, we must never stop what we have started --- to win souls, lead converts to biblical baptism, and help new believers grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through faithful discipleship. Those are what we can accomplish if we ourselves are devotedly involved in the work of the Lord. God be praised and thanked for unceasingly upholding our church to stick to His Word and to stay in His ways as He secures us through His watchfulness. We are really privileged to belong to a church that is seriously committed to the Great Commission’s fulfillment, which exalts the Saviour, evangelize the sinners, and edify the saints. I am inspired as your Pastor to have your cooperation in this heavenly goal while we altogether participate in our church programs and activities like our worship services, area soulwinning, Bible DR. ED M. LAURENA studies and visitations, Sunday school and doctrine classes, prayer meetings, discipleship sessions, men-mentoring-men lectures, and various fellowships. Even our mission support, Nehemiah project, and ministry endeavors are all geared toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Moreover, it brings joy and revival to see results of our Great Commission’s involvement, not only here in our place, but also abroad. Our outreach in Kaohsiung, Taiwan which celebrated its 20th Anniversary last Sunday yielded many souls saved, with a total of 235 people in attendance, 174 first time visitors, and two baptisms. Truly, God blesses our obedience to His command, “… Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Let us all be one in making such a reality through God’s power. This day, with thanksgiving, let us glorify the Lord in our Spirit-filled worship.

It is through God’s people’s commitment and consistency.
In this class are the youngest among the adults in the church. Couples aging 29 years old below are a captive audience at the Second Floor of the Administration Building every Sunday morning. As their name says, they are the ones who joyfully begin in their life as husbands and wives, as new fathers and mothers. Ranging from 30-40 in attendance every Sunday, the class is taught by Bro. Dave Medalla. His with wife, Sis. Elvie, assists in the divided Sunday School fellowship. Having students as young as 15 years old, Bro. and Sis. Medalla have been very careful to usher them to a good start of godly family living. Thus, they do periodic home visitations to reach the need of these young starters. Through this, the statement that “Our church is family-oriented” is indeed a true assertion.

The Pioneering TAIWAN OUTREACH Turns Twenty and Thriving
F
OR TWENTY THRIVING YEARS, CBBC’s pioneering Church Outreach in Taiwan has been amazingly singing and joyfully glorifying the Lord in a strange land. Spanning cultures and religion in a much-closed and foreign environment, our fervent Filipino brethren in our Kaohsiung, Taiwan Outreach are doing their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. Last March 16, they brought in a total of 235 in attendance, 174 of those precious folks are first time visitors and willingly accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour and 2 submitted themselves to biblical baptism. Our beloved pastor, Dr. Ed proclaimed God’s Word on that occasion.
Resolutely Conducted
Meanwhile, Dr. Gil Laurena from Christian Soldiers Impact Tabernacle preached to the Filipino community in the neighbouring counties and towns of Nantze, Daliao, Tainan, Kangsan, Luchu, Pingtung and Fangliao. The spirit of revival and renewal was very evident in this blessed event. For twenty blessed years, this Outreach has been producing faithful Baptist Christians and Church workers scattered within the Philippine Islands and overseas like Canada, the Middle East and USA.
AST MARCH 17-18, the Scouting Camp was conducted as part of the Christian Bible Baptist Academy’s Curriculum for Physical Education. Supervised by 4 members of the teaching and Church Staff, the 37 high school students spent two days in Villa Sylvia, Nagcarlan, Laguna for teambuilding activities, games, teachings and preachings that culminated in the giving of commitments to God by way of a symbolic bonfire.
Let us pray that this Outreach together with the other Outreaches in Taiwan will keep pressing on in the faith and Gospel evangelization. Let us likewise ask God that that they will soon be acknowledged by the government to have the capability to purchase their own mission house property, which will give way for a more expansive ministerial effort in a foreign land. May the Lord be magnified and glorified in all we endeavour for His vineyard.

The outgoing Seniors were exhorted to remember always and to cleave determinedly to the Biblical precepts which the Christian school instilled in them for 12 years. The Juniors, as well, were taught to realize and appreciate the benefits and privileges of having godly parents, a zealous Church and a vigilant Church-School. Preacher Dave Medalla gave a convicting preaching on “How to be a Wise Person” from Proverbs 1:5, “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.” Despite an eventful way back home due to vehicular aberrations, the scouts and teachers were brought home by the Lord safe, settled and satisfied for having participated in this lesson-filled activity. May the Word of God and godly fellowship be always a part of the lives of this batch of students and of those who will come after them.
Whose Ambassador Are You?
A
N AMBASSADOR is a person sent from one sovereign power to another; and is supposed to represent the person of the sovereign by whom he is deputed. George Shultz, Secretary of the United States during the Reagan administration kept a large globe in his office. When newly appointed ambassadors come to him for a visit, he gives out a crack of thought. “You have to go over the globe and prove to me that you can identify your country.” So they would go over, spin the globe, and put their finger on the country to which they are sent. However, when former Senate majority leader Mike Mansfield was appointed ambassador to Japan and was put to the test, Mansfield spun the globe and put his hand on the United States. He said: "That's my country." Shultz said: "I've told that story to all the ambassadors going out. “Never forget you're over there in that country, but your country is the United States. You're there to represent us. Take care of our interests and never forget it, and you're representing the best country in the world.” God reminds us of our role as His ambassadors through the expression of Apostle Paul’s conviction in the above verse. What an honour we have to look and live for Jesus Christ! The transformation He authored in our lives (2 Cor 5:17) must be published in the entire world. Jesus Christ allowed not the demon-possessed Gadarene to go with Him; rather He ordered the man: “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” (Mark 5:19). The deliverance of that man was an evidence of Christ’s mighty power; and his response to the Saviour’s command brought his family and friends, even Decapolis, to the same knowledge about the grace unto salvation. As professing Christians, we carry in our name, since that day we have received Jesus, the privilege to represent Him everywhere we go. Our works embody that homeland we are standing for. So, if you look back and turn again to your former character; and never speak for Christ, think again! You may serve the world or you may serve the Lord. By the way, whose ambassador are you?
THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP
I
THANK GOD FOR THE PRIVILEGE of saving me in 1991. Although I could not remember the exact date of my salvation, I can still remember that I once repented of my sins and received the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and personal Saviour. Then I was baptized in 1992. I am also thankful to those who were persistent in coming to my house to disciple me and encourage me to keep on attending every service. Also, I learned the importance of faithfulness in the church. I am also thankful to Dr. Ed through his ministry for teaching me how to win souls to Christ. God entrusted me souls even in my secular job. It is really my joy to see them in the church serving the Lord as well (1 Thess. 2:19-20). In 2002, God gave me the privilege to lead Area 22 through the man of God. It is a great challenge for me to be an area leader as I meet different kind s of people. It is in this experience that I have learned how to deal with different situations. It is really hard but I enjoy it. Another privilege is when God put me in the first time visitors’ class, which I love so much. I really thank God for Dr. Ed for those ministries. It is because of discipleship that I learned to serve God. I thank God for discipleship. It is a blessing to me. -

Pagtalima sa Dakilang Tagubilin Beata B. Agustin
I
N A WORLD WITH AN EVER GROWING NUMBER OF PEOPLE who hold diverse views about God and eternity, it is a viable thing for us Baptist Christians to be fastened securely to the cable of the Word of God so that we can know who we are, why we are here, where are we headed, how do we get there and that we have Someone to cling to in the most difficult times of our life. Going deeper in our spiritual maturity, we must aim to replicate the same wonderful and blessed life transpiring in others as well. Quite tragically “...we have been playing games while our world is in flames.” If we are to be honest with ourselves regarding our individual efforts toward the proclamation of the Great Commission, this could very well sum it up. We are like men and women who are straightening pictures on the walls of a burning building. We are dealing with peripheral issues when it is really the hearts of people that need to be changed. The problems in the world that are threatening to engulf humanity can only be solved through faith in Christ and obedience to His commands. This world is in dire hunger for something this world cannot duly offer. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." That may sound conclusive and arrogant but that is what the Lord Jesus said, and Jesus Christ is God! For many years, we may have come across people and asked them if they are assured of Heaven through faith in Jesus Christ. Apart from those who have met Christ in a personal, vital encounter, the answer in general is, "I am looking for God; I hope to find Him, but I haven't found Him yet!" No person will ever find God until he receives Christ. Do you really believe that people without Christ are lost? Has it occurred to you that some of your family and friends, your neighbors and associates who do not know Christ are spiritually lost? The Word of God is emphatically clear:
Pagtalima sa Dakilang Tagubilin ay kalooban ng Panginoon Dahil ito’y magalak na pagsang-ayon kaakibat ang mabuting pagtugon Upang ang Kanyang Ebanghelyo’y maibahagi sa lahat ng pagkakataon Nang ang tao’y maligtas at magkaroon ng buhay na walang hanggang nilalayon. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” This world is desperately lost without Christ. If we take our Lord seriously, we must dedicate fully ourselves with our time, talent and treasure to the fulfillment of the Great Commission, not out of a sense of legalistic duty, but out of love and gratitude for what Christ has already done for us. If we want to obey Him, we follow what He says, and that is "Go," which is sufficient reason for going. Mark 8:34-38 records our Lord's command to all who would be His disciples, “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” According to Mark 10:29,30 and John 14:21, God truly promised rich rewards and great blessings to all who will trust and obey Him. The Word of God is designed to be proclaimed. Obeying this commission is neither easy nor desirable to most Christians. However, there is an urgency to complete the task while the doors of opportunity are still open. This is the best time as any. We should dare not miss this unprecedented opportunity. If we are ever to walk worthy of the life and times God entrusted in our stewardship, we must plan and do it for Christ and His kingdom. We must do it now before the harvest ends.

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
