VOLUME 23 > ISSUE 25> JUNE 23
Spiritual growth is a very important aspect for us, children of God, to enjoy our Christian life. The world’s way of thinking and philosophies are so different from God’s principle. Whether it is on setting priorities, or in showing decency, living with virtue, handling money, dealing with people, responding to situations, and fulfilling varied roles, God has set His guidelines through His Word. We must have a humble spirit in setting aside our own selfish ideas and start desiring for His principle for us to enjoy Christianity more. These past weeks, many students went back to school and their simple reason is to learn more. When a student stops listening to right authorities and teachers, then his learning ends, and he becomes stagnant. Likewise, when we as believers lose that desire to learn from God, our Christianity will stop growing and we will then be uninterested and uninteresting. I encourage you as a child of God not to lose that longing to learn more from God and His Word. Let us keep on longing for His wisdom! Have a blessed Sunday!

Another Blessed School Year Opens at BHBC, CBBA, and School for the Deaf and Mute
C
onsistently continuing to provide solid Bible education to Christian leaders, workers and citizens for the next generation, the Christian Bible Baptist Church (CBBC) opens another great school year for its three educational arms namely, Baptist Heritage Bible College (BHBC), Christian Bible Baptist Academy (CBBA), and School for the Deaf and Mute. A total of 323 enrolled students came in for the class opening on the 1st and 2nd week of June. At BHBC, it was an encouraging sight as 180 enrolled students and 40 Faculty members came in for the orientation night last June 17. The Pastor of Northside Bible Baptist Church of Laoag, Pastor Flor Ventura, gave an extraordinary “preachimony,” reinforcing his preaching with his testimony, even during a power brownout halfway through the sermon. Anchored on the text verse, 1 John 3:6, the message exhorted the entire student body to be obedient to the blessed call that God had led them into. It was indeed a challenge, a charge, and a reminder for all students, both returning and new, that the calling of Christ is a privilege. Throughout its 28 faithful years, the College has produced servant leaders and labourers for God’s ministerial work. Majority of the College’s alumni are now actively involved in their respective outreaches/ missions/churches as preachers/pastors/ workers. These are all evidences of God’s hand being at work in the lives of equip-
ping and training young men and women in this blessed institution. BHBC anticipates to cross-over the 400 mark of alumni on its Silver Commencement in April, 2014. Meanwhile, CBBA remains strong in its goal to instill in all its students, from primary to high-school, the necessary foundational principles based on the King James Bible. Backed up by an established ACE-SOT Curriculum and solid Biblical doctrine, CBBA opened the year with a Parents-Teachers’ Conference (PTC) for the 78 enrolled students last June 10. Dr. Ed gave a convicting preaching on the pivotal role parents play in partnership with the Academy. As a response, the parents made a willing commitment to partner with the Church in cultivating the young through a Bible-based, Christ-centered, character development-oriented education. Likewise, the Church, through the School for the Deaf and Mute, has provided a special education curriculum for the truly special people in CBBC. On its 13th year, this special school is used by God in leading the deaf and mute to accept Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord, to grow spiritually, to win souls, to worship, and to serve God amidst their limitations. Christ is definitely magnified for the persevering 65 enrollees and 13 faculty members. For all interested students, the institute will open its Sign Language class in August.
I
n the 1800s, a group of women met to study the Bible in Dublin. While studying in the book of Malachi, chapter three, they came across verse three which says: "he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." This verse puzzled the women and they wondered how this statement applied to the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out more about the process of refining silver, and to get back to the group at their next Bible study. The following week, the woman called up a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him while at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest, beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith work, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire, where the flames were the hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such

t a church meeting a very wealthy man rose to tell the rest of those present about his Christian faith. “I’m a millionaire,” he said, “and I attribute it all to the rich blessings of God in my life. I remember that turning point in my faith. I had just earned my first dollar and I went to a church meeting that night. The speaker was a missionary who told about his work. I knew that I only had a dollar bill and had to either give it all to God’s work or nothing at all. So
a hot spot, then she thought again about the verse, that "he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the entire time the silver was being refined. The man answered yes, that not only did he have to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on it the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "But how do you know when the silver is fully refined?" He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that’s easy - when I see my image in it."

I believe that God blessed that decision, and that is why I am a rich man today.” He finished and there was an awed silence at his testimony as he moved toward his seat. As he sat down a little old lady sitting in the same pew leaned over and said to him: “I dare you to do it again.” -illustrations Unlimited

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
