LE PROCESSUS EST IRREVERSIBLE

’Année 2016 marque un nouveau tournant dans la vie de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau qui vient de tenir avec un succès éclatant, son 18ème Congrès et Exposition Internationale à Nairobi, la capitale du Kenya. Ce fut un grand rassemblement qui a réuni, en un seul endroit, près de 2000 professionnels et partenaires

du secteur Eau – Assainissement, pour se pencher sur la problématique de « L’accès durable à l’eau potable et à l’assainissement en Afrique ». Depuis Abidjan en 2014, Marrakech en 2012, ou encore Kampala en 2010, l’intérêt des professionnels du secteur pour les congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau va croissant, et a atteint cette année, un point culminant, qui place notre organisation à un niveau tel qu’aucun retour en arrière ne saurait être envisagé. Le processus est donc enclenché, il est irréversible, et nous sommes condamnés à, au moins, maintenir la barre au niveau qu’elle a atteint, sinon à nous dépasser pour aller encore plus haut. En 2018, nous serons à Bamako, la capitale du Mali ; un pays dont le maître mot est Djiguiya, qui signifie en langue malinké, l’hospitalité. Nous restons persuadés qu’une fois encore, notre organisation se montrera à la hauteur, pour faire de cet événement, l’un des plus importants rendez-vous de son histoire, et au cours duquel nous pourrons, une fois encore, faire la démonstration que c’est dans l’union que nous parviendrons à bâtir un secteur Eau – Assainissement dynamique, performant et qui sait faire face aux besoins des populations de plus en plus nombreuses et toujours plus exigeantes.

016 marks another milestone in the life of the African Water Association, which has just held, with a resounding success, its 18th Congress and International Exhibition in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. It was a great rally which gathered in one place, some 2,000 water-sanitation sector professionals and

partners to address the issue of the «Sustainable Access to Drinking Water and Sanitation in Africa». Since Abidjan in 2014, Marrakech in 2012, or Kampala in 2010, the interest of the sector’s professionals for the Congresses of the African Water Association has been growing and it reached its climax this year, which puts our organization at such a level that no step backward can be considered. The process has been initiated; it is irreversible and we are condemned to at least keep the bar at the level it has reached, if not challenge ourselves to go even higher. In 2018, we will be in Bamako, the capital city of Mali. This is a country whose watchword is Djiguiya, which means hospitality in Malinke, a local language. We remain convinced that once again, our organization will rise to the occasion and make this event one of the most important gatherings in its history, an event during which we will be able, once again, to demonstrate that united, we can build a dynamic, performing water-sanitation sector that knows how to meet the needs of the increasingly growing and demanding populations.

LES OFFICIELS DU CONGRES / THE OFFICIALS OF THE CONGRESS LE PRESIDENT DU KENYA, UHURU KENYATTA, A OUVERT LES TRAVAUX La cérémonie d’ouverture du 18ème congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau a été présidée par le président Uhuru KENYATTA, en personne, qui a voulu marquer par sa présence, l’intérêt que son pays porte aux questions liées à l’eau et à l’assainissement. Un millier de délégués ont pris part à cette cérémonie qui s’est déroulée le lundi 22 février 2015 à l’auditorium du KICC (Kenyatta International Convention Center) et au cours de laquelle le Président de l’AAE et les autorités Kenyanes ont situé les enjeux de ce grand rassemblement.

THE PRESIDENT OF KENYA, UHURU KENYATTA, OPENED THE SESSIONS The opening ceremony of the 18th Congress of the African Water Association was chaired by President Uhuru KENYATTA himself, who, by being present, wanted to highlight the interest of his country in the issues related to the water and sanitation. A thousand delegates took part in t ahe ceremony, which took place on Monday, February 22, 2015 in the auditorium of KICC (Kenyatta International Convention Center). During that ceremony, the President of AfWA and Kenyan authorities assessed the issues of that important gathering.

DEUX MEMBRES DU GOUVERNEMENT POUR LA CEREMONIE DE CLOTURE Au cours de la cérémonie de clôture, le président du CST, Olivier GOSSO a salué l’implication, au plus haut niveau, des autorités kenyanes dans la réussite de l’événement avant de présenter les résultats du congrès. Le Vice-président du Kenya était représenté à cette cérémonie par le secrétaire principal à l’agriculture et à la pêche, Willy Beth, et par le secrétaire principal en charge de l’agriculture, de l’élevage et de la pêche.

TWO MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE CLOSING CEREMONY During the closing ceremony, the president of the STC, Olivier GOSSO, hailed the involvement, at the highest level, of the Kenyan authorities in the success of the event before presenting the results of the Congress. The Vice President of Kenya was represented at that ceremony by the Principal Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Willy Beth, and by the Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

JOHN KUFFUOR ADRESSE UN MESSAGE D’ESPOIR SENDS A MESSAGE OF HOPE

’est maintenant une tradition, les travaux du congrès débutent par un symposium qui porte sur le thème principal du congrès, en l’occurrence : « L’accès durable à l’eau et à l’assainissement en Afrique, à la lumière des Objectifs du Développement Durable ». L’orateur principal de cette session était Gabriel NEGATU, Directeur Afrique de l’Est de la Banque Africain de Développement. En introduction de cette séance, l’ex-président du Ghana, John KUFFUOR, président de la Fondation John A. KUFFUOR dédiée à la promotion et au développement durable de l’Afrique, dans un message vidéo, a salué la tenue de ce congrès et a exprimé son espoir de voir sortir de ces travaux des diagnostics clairs, ainsi que des propositions innovantes susceptibles de redonner l’espoir à des millions d’Africains qui n’ont toujours pas accès à l’eau potable, ni à des services d’assainissement adéquats.

The keynote speaker of this session was Gabriel NEGATU, East Africa Director of the African Development Bank. In introducing this session, the former President of Ghana, John KUFFUOR, President of the John A. KUFFUOR Foundation dedicated to the promotion and the sustainable development of Africa, welcomed the holding of the Congress and expressed his hope to see, as outcomes of the Congress, clear diagnostic and innovative proposals that could give hope to millions of Africans who still have no access to drinking water or adequate sanitation services.

THE PLENARIES The 18th Congress of the African Water Association was organized around four plenaries that helped guide the sessions. NON-REVENUE WATER AT THE HEART OF THE

La question de l’Eau Non-Facturée a fait l’objet d’une session spéciale au cours du 18ème congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau. Au mois de juin 2015, le Groupe de Travail ENF du Conseil Scientifique et Technique de l’AAE, réuni à Paris, a fait un diagnostic alarmant de la situation dans 20 sociétés d’eau inclues dans le projet pilote. Le rapport des audits révélait des pertes représentant environ 37% des volumes introduits dans les réseaux, soit un coût de pertes estimé à 75 500 000 dollars US. Le congrès de l’AAE fut donc l’occasion de présenter les résultats des investigations menées par les experts de l’AAE, ainsi que les Plans d’Amélioration des Performances recommandés.

DISCUSSIONS

Non-Revenue Water was the subject of a special session during the 18th Congress of the African Water Association. In June 2015, the NRW Working Group of the Scientific and Technical Council of AfWA, meeting in Paris, made an alarming diagnosis of the situation in 20 water utilities included in the pilot project. The audit report revealed losses accounting for about 37% of the volume introduced into the networks, that is, losses estimated to cost 75.5 million US dollars. The Congress of AfWA was therefore an opportunity to present the results of the investigations conducted by the experts of AfWA and the Performance Improvement Plans of recommended.

• Solutions intelligentes et innovantes • Assainissement et environnement • Mécanismes innovants de financement Les sessions parallèles ont été animées par des opérateurs du secteur, des institutions financières et partenaires au développement. Il s’agit, notamment, de la Banque Mondiale, l’Association Internationale de l’Eau (IWA), TECHNOLOG, Pentair, Global Water Leaders Group, USAID – WAWASH, EVOQUA, LACROIX SOFREL, The Nature Conservancy (TNC), l’Association des Sociétés d’Eau des Pays Arabes (ACWUA), UNESCO, la Coopération Allemande (GIZ), WaterAid, WOP Africa / GWOPA, PAM Saint Gobain, Water Sanitation Program (WSP), JUNACO, Wateraid.

THE MEETING PLACE FOR GIVING AND RECEIVING The Congress of the African Water Association is a platform that brings together all professionals and partners of the water and sanitation sector in Africa and the world. In Nairobi, there were 50 technical and scientific sessions nourished by more than 130 papers and presentations on the following themes: • Innovations for increased availability and improved access to water supply; • Governance and performance improvement tools • Smart and innovative solutions • Sanitation and environment Magazine Afwa News N°115 Avril / April 2016

• Innovative financing mechanisms The side events were facilitated by sector operators, financial institutions and development partners. VISITE DES STANDS L’exposition internationale du 18ème Congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau (AAE) s’est déroulée du 22 au 25 février 2016 au KENYATTA International Convention Centre (KICC) de Nairobi, KENYA. Cette manifestation a connu un franc succès, comme l’attestent les chiffres ci-après : • 2 400 M2 de surface d’exposition • 120 Sociétés exposantes • 500 exposants • Plus de 350 visiteurs par jour.

DES STANDS ET DES RENCONTRES L’édition 2016 de l’Exposition Internationale de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau a drainé du beau monde du secteur Eau, Assainissement, Hygiène, et tous s’accordent à reconnaître la parfaite organisation et l’atmosphère conviviale qui y a régné. Parmi les visiteurs on pouvait retrouver : des techniciens, ingénieurs, industriels, consultants, étudiants, bailleurs de fonds, revendeurs, ou encore des acheteurs. Les équipements exposés, allant de la tuyauterie de génération récente, aux matériels hydrauliques de dernière technologie, ont suscité ce grand engouement des visiteurs, ravis d’avoir une si large panoplie de biens et services du secteur sur le même site. Les stands ont également été le lieu de nombreuses rencontres B to B.

STANDS AND MEETINGS The 2016 edition of the International Exhibition of the African Water Association attracted a lot of people from the water, sanitation, hygiene sector, and all agreed about the perfect organization and the friendly atmosphere that prevailed. There were technicians, engineers, industrialists, consultants, students, donors, dealers or buyers among the visitors. The equipment exhibited ranged from the latest generation of piping to cutting-edge hydraulic material technology and elicited the great enthusiasm of visitors, delighted to have such a wide range of industry goods and services on the same site. The stands were also the site of numerous B to B meetings.

ZOOM EXPO / THE EXHIBITION IN FOCUS LA NAIROBI CITY WATER AU CŒUR DE L’EVENEMENT La société de distribution d’eau du Comté de Nairobi, la Nairibi City Water and Sewerage Company, actrice majeure dans l’organisation de ce 18ème congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau, était également au cœur de l’exposition internationale qui a vu défiler environ 1500 visiteurs. Le stand de la NWSC fut l’un des plus visités. Le Directeur général de la société, M. Philip GICHUKI, et tout le staff de la Nairobi Water, se sont mobilisés pour l’animation du stand que la société avait érigé au centre de l’espace d’exposition. NAIROBI CITY WATER AT THE HEART OF THE EVENT The water utility of Nairobi County, Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, a major actor in the organization of the 18th Congress of the African Water Association, was also at the heart of the international exhibition that welcomed about 1,500 visitors. The stand of the NWSC was one of the most visited. The Managing director of the utility, Mr. Philip GICHUKI, and all the staff of Nairobi Water were mobilized to run the stand that the utility had erected in the center of the exhibition space.

La délégation de la Direction Exécutive, conduite par le Directeur Exécutif, Sylvain USHER, comprenait le Directeur des Programmes, Siméon KENFACK, le Directeur Financier, Alphonse KOUASSI, la chargée du suivi / évaluation, Monique AVOAKA, le chargé du marketing, Aimé DIGBEU Kaloua, l’assistante du Directeur exécutif, Mme SANNON Fofana, le coordonnateur du programmes des jeunes professionnels, Valentin Kouadio YAO, le chargé de communication, Souleymane OUATTARA, le Chargé des TIC, Nicaise KOUAKOU, et l’assistante en communication, Corine ASSIENIN.

The delegation of the Executive Office, led by the Executive Director, Sylvain USHER, included the Program Director, Simeon KENFACK, the Chief Financial Officer, Alphonse KOUASSI, the Monitoring/Evaluation Officer, Monique AVOAKA, the Marketing Officer, Aimé DIGBEU Kaloua, The Assistant of the Executive Director, Korotoumou FOFANA SANNON, The Young Professionnals Program Coordinator, Valentin Kouadio YAO, the Communications Officer, Souleymane OUATTARA, the ICT Officer, Nicaise KOUAKOU, the Communications Assistant, Corine ASSIENIN. Animé par le responsable marketing, DIGBEU Aimé Kaloua, le stand a permis d’informer les visiteurs sur les activités menées par l’organisation. Il a également servi de point de contact pour toutes les sociétés membres qui y ont trouvé un lieu de convivialité et de partage. LES EVENEMENTS PRE-CONGRES / THE PRE-CONGRESS EVENTS LE PREMIER RESEAU DES FEMMES PROFESSIONNELLES DE L’EAU ET DE L’ASSAINISSEMENT EN AFRIQUE VOIT LE JOUR.

e Dimanche 21 février 2016, en prélude au congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau, s’est tenu le 1er Forum du Réseau des Femmes Professionnelles exerçant dans le Secteur de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement en Afrique. Ce forum a vu la participation de femmes exerçant dans les sociétés d’eau et d’assainissement, d’Organisations Non Gouvernementales, de femmes ingénieurs, chercheurs… soit plus de 200 femmes, provenant de 15 pays. Le DR ROSE KAGGWA, Directrice Business and Scientific Services de la National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) d’Ouganda, Mme DIANE D’ARRAS, future Présidente de l’Association Internationale de l’Eau (IWA), le Dr. LALLA ASMA EL KASMI, Directrice de la coopération et de la communication de l’ONEE, branche Eau du Maroc, étaient les principales oratrices de ce forum qui a vu la participation de plusieurs directeurs généraux de sociétés d’eau et d’assainissement.

THE FIRST NETWORK OF WATER AND SANITATION PROFESSIONAL WOMEN IN AFRICA HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED

he first Forum of the Network of Professional Women in Water and Sanitation in Africa was held on Sunday, February 21, 2016, ahead of the Congress of the African Water Association. This forum welcomed women working in water and sanitation utilities, non-governmental organizations, women engineers, researchers, that is, more than 200 women, from 15 countries. Dr. ROSE KAGGWA, Director of Business and Scientific Services of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation of Uganda, Mrs. DIANE D’ARRAS, future President of the International Water Association, Dr. LALLA ASMA EL KASMI, Director of Cooperation and Communication of ONEE, the Water Branch of Morocco, were the keynote speakers of the forum, which was attended by several CEOs of water and sewerage utilities.

LES EVENEMENTS PRE-CONGRES / THE PRE-CONGRESS EVENTS 2ÈME FORUM DES JEUNES PROFESSIONNELS THE 2ND FORUM OF THE AFRICAN YOUNG WATER AFRICAINS DE L’EAU ET DE L’ASSAINISSSEMENT AND SANITATION PROFESSIONALS En marge du congrès de l’AAE, les Jeunes Professionnels Africains de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement (JPAfEA) se sont retrouvés le dimanche 21 février 2016 à Nairobi pour le 2ème Forum de leur groupe de réflexion. Les travaux ont porté sur le thème : « Jeunes professionnels, notre espace de Réseau & d’Innovation », et ont réuni des étudiants et travailleurs du secteur de l’eau et de l’assainissement. Ensemble, ils ont tenté de mettre en évidence les liens qui existent entre les Nouvelles Technologies de l’Information et l’efficacité des Services Délivrés aux Clients. Le premier forum des Jeunes Professionnels Africains de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement (JPAfEA) s’est tenu à Abidjan en février 2014.

On the occasion of the Congress of AfWA, the African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals (AYWSP) met on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Nairobi for the 2nd Forum of their focus group. The session focused on the theme: «Young professionals, our Network & Innovation Space» and brought together students and workers from the water and sanitation sector. Together, they tried to highlight the linkages between the New Information Technologies and the efficiency of the services provided to customers. The first Forum of the African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals (AfYWSP) was held in Abidjan in February 2014.

LES EVENEMENTS PRE-CONGRES / THE PRE-CONGRESS EVENTS LA TABLE RONDE DES BAILLEURS SUR LA REDUCTION DE L’EAU NON-FACTUREE Le dimanche 21 février 2016, en prélude au Congrès, les bailleurs de fonds, partenaires au développement, opérateurs du secteur de l’eau et de l’assainissement en Afrique, se sont retrouvés, à l’initiative de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau, pour réfléchir sur la problématique de la réduction de l’eau nonfacturée. L’Association Africaine de l’Eau (AAE) et L’Association des Sociétés d’Eau des Pays Arabes (ACWUA) ont présenté les résultats d’études menées dans leurs zones respectives, afin de susciter l’intérêt des bailleurs pour le financement des plans d’amélioration des performances élaborés.

THE ROUND TABLE OF DONORS ON THE REDUCTION OF NON-REVENUE WATER On Sunday, February 21, 2016, ahead of the Congress, donors, development partners, water and sanitation sector operators in Africa met at the initiative of the African Association of water African Water Association to reflect on the issue of reducing non-revenue water. The African Water Association (AfWA) and The Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) presented the results of studies conducted in their respective areas in order to attract the interest of donors to fund the performance improvement plans developed.

PERSPECTIVES / PROSPECTS LE MAROC PREND LA DIRECTION DE L’AAE POUR LES DEUX ANS A VENIR La présidence à l’Association Africaine de l’Eau est assurée de façon tournante par les représentants des différentes régions qui composent le continent. Ainsi, l’Afrique Australe vient de terminer son second mandat de deux ans (2012-2016) assurés, respectivement par Duduzilé MYENI et Hamanth KASAN de l’Afrique du Sud. Avant eux, c’était l’Afrique de l’Ouest qui était aux affaires, avec le sénégalais Mamadou DIA (2008-2012) qui succédait à la gouvernance de l’Afrique Centrale, sous la présidence de Pene SHAKO de la RDC (2006-2008). Aujourd’hui, c’est au tour de l’Afrique du Nord d’assurer la présidence tournante pour les deux prochaines années, et c’est tout naturellement que le choix du Comité de Direction s’est porté sur le Directeur Général de l’Office National de l’Electricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE) du Maroc, Ali FASSI FIHRI. L’élection du Maroc vient récompenser les efforts de l’ONEE qui a su construire, au fil des années, des partenariats durables et structurés avec plusieurs pays d’Afrique et faire valoir son expertise et son savoir-faire auprès des opérateurs de l’eau et de l’assainissement.

MOROCCO IS HEADING AfWA FOR THE COMING TWO YEARS The presidency of the African Water Association is filled in a rotating manner by the representatives of the various regions that make up the continent. Thus, Southern Africa has just completed its second two-year term (2012-2016), provided by Duduzile MYENI and Hamanth KASAN from South Africa. Before them, West Africa was in office with the Senegalese Mamadou DIA (2008-2012) who succeeded the governance of Central Africa, under the presidency of Pene SHAKO from DRC (2006 -2008). It is now the turn of North Africa to ensure the rotating presidency for the next two years, and it is quite natural for the choice of the Executive Board to fall on the Managing Director of the National Electricity and Water Supply Office (ONEE) of Morocco, Ali FASSI FIHRI. Morocco’s election rewards the efforts of ONEE that has built, over the years, lasting and structured partnerships with several African countries and promotes its expertise and know-how with water and sanitation operators.

LES MEMBRES AFFILIES ONT UN NOUVEAU PRESIDENT C’est par consensus que le nouveau président des membres affiliés a été choisi, le dimanche 21 février 2016, à l’issu de l’Assemblée Générale de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau. C’est le français, Jean-Yves GADRAS, viceprésident, directeur Développement de Suez qui prend la tête de cette instance, aidé dans sa tâche par Benoit LECLAIRE, le responsable zone Afrique de DIEHL Metering. Auparavant, cette fonction a été assurée pendant plus d’une décennie par Claude JAMATI.

AFFILIATED MEMBERS HAVE A NEW PRESIDENT It was through a consensus that the new Affiliated Members’ President was chosen on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the end of the General Assembly of the African Water Association. A French national Jean-Yves GADRAS, Vice President, Development Director of Suez, will head this body, with the assistance of Benoit LECLAIRE, the head of the Africa zone of DIEHL Metering. C’est la ville de Bamako, capitale du Mali qui a été choisie pour l’organisation du prochain congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau prévu en 2018. Ce choix s’est opéré au cours de la réunion du Comité de Direction du 21 février 2016 à Nairobi. Deux pays étaient en lice pour l’organisation de la manifestation, à savoir, le Mali et la Guinée. Le dossier malien, présenté par le Directeur Général Adjoint de la SOMAGEP, Abdrahamane DEMBELE, a mis l’accent sur la contribution que la SOMAGEP et la SOMAPEP entendent désormais apporter dans l’animation des activités de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau. Le Mali qui est un membre fondateur de l’UADE et un membre actif de l’AAE, n’avait jusque-là, jamais eu l’occasion d’organiser cet événement d’envergure qui rassemble l’ensemble des acteurs de l’eau et de l’assainissement en Afrique. La ville de Bamako est une habituée des grands événements d’envergures internationales et offre toutes les facilités d’accès, d’accueil, de convivialité et d’hospitalité ; toutes choses qui promettent un congrès de très belle facture en 2018.

Bamako, Mali’s capital city, has been chosen to host the next Congress of the African Water Association scheduled to be held in 2018. This choice was made during the meeting of the February 21, 2016 Executive Board meeting in Bamako Nairobi. Two countries were competing for the organization of the event, Mali and Guinea. The Malian dossier presented by the Deputy Managing Director of SOMAGEP, Abdrahamane DEMBELE, focused on the contribution that SOMAGEP and SOMAPEP now intend to make in order to support the African Water Association’s activities. Mali, a founding member of UAWS and an active member of AfWA, had until now never had the opportunity to organize this important event that brings together all the players in the water and sanitation sector in Africa. The city of Bamako is used to large-scale international events and offers all the facilities of access, reception, friendliness and hospitality, which heralds a great congress in 2018.

THE MASAI GALA

C’est dans la pure tradition Masaï que s’est déroulé le gala de clôture de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau, avec des participants drapés de Shuka, le pagne traditionnel Masaï. Un gala riche en couleurs et en sons, au cours duquel des troupes artistiques ont mis en évidence la diversité du patrimoine culturel du pays. Le point culminent de ce gala de clôture fut la cérémonie de distinction au cours de laquelle huit personnalités ont été élevées au rang de membres d’honneur de l‘AAE. Il s’agit de MM. Basile EBAH (DG de la SODECI- Côte d’Ivoire), David BABALOLA (DG de la SONEB - Bénin), Jonas K. JABULO (Cadre de la GWCL LTDGhana), Peter REISS (USAID / FABRI), Indatou ATTO (Secrétaire général, SPEN- Niger), Mamadou Lamine KOUATE (Ex. président de l’AAE & Ex. DG ONEA – Burkina Faso), Mahamady Jean Claude KOANDA (Ex. Membre du CST et Ex. cadre de l’ONEA – Burkina Faso) et Dr Cheick TALIBY SYLLA (ex- DG de la SEG - Guinée).

The closing gala of the African Water Association was held in the pure traditional Masai way, with participants draped Shuka, the Masai traditional loincloth. A gala rich in colors and sounds, in which artistic troupes highlighted the diversity of the country’s cultural heritage. The high point of this closing gala was the award ceremony during which eight persons were awarded the tile of Honorary Members of AfWA. These were Messrs. Basile EBAH (MD, SODECI- Côte d’Ivoire), David BABALOLA (MD, SONEB - Benin), Jonas K. JABULO (Senior Executive, GWCL LTD - Ghana), Peter REISS (USAID / FABRI), Indatou ATTO (General Secretary, SPEN - Niger), Mamadou Lamine KOUATE (Former AfWA’s chairman and former MD, ONEA – Burkina Faso), Jean Claude Mahamady KOANDA (former STC Member and former Senior Executive, ONEA – Burkina Faso) and Dr. Cheick Taliby SYLLA (Former MD,SEG - Guinea).

C’est la raison pour laquelle des invitations à diner sont organisés. Ainsi, la SODECI, DIEHL METERING, PAM SAINT GOBIN ou encore SOTICI, ont organisé des réceptions au cours desquelles des participants au congrès ont été conviés pour déguster des mets authentiques du Kenya et apprécier la diversité culturelle du pays Masaï.

THE CONVIVIALITY GATHERING The Congress of AfWA is a good opportunity to bring people together, to enable companies to establish their relationships and business partnerships, to fraternize. This is why dinner invitations are organized. Thus, SODECI, DIEHL METERING, PAM SAINT GOBIN and SOTICI organized receptions at which Congress participants were invited to taste Kenyan authentic dishes and enjoy the cultural diversity of the Masai country.

MEDIAS UNE FORTE REPRESENTATION DES MEDIAS La cérémonie de clôture du congrès a été suivie par une conférence de presse qui a permis de faire le bilan de l’événement, et d’envisager les perspectives. Outre la presse locale, fortement représentée, le congrès a suscité l’intérêt de plusieurs médias étrangers qui ont contribué à promouvoir les activités menées au cours des 4 jours de travaux.

STRONG REPRESENTATION OF THE MEDIA The Congress closing ceremony followed a press conference that take stock of the event and helped consider the prospects. Besides the local press, strongly represented, the Congress attracted the interest of several foreign media, which helped promote the activities during the four days of work.
