Kurdish political prisoners on hunger strike in NEWS DESK - Pressures and human rights violations by Iranian regime is going on towards the Kurdish political prisoners. Over two dozen Kurdish political prisoners incarcerated in a prison in the western city of Urmiye have staged a hunger strike since Thursday to protest against the transfer of non-political prisoners to their ward. The transfer of prisoners that often include gangs affiliated to the regime, to Ward 12 of the prison is aimed at intensifying pressure and psychologically torturing the political prisoners. New fabricated charges towards Zanyar and Lokman Moradi Meanwhile, a court in the city of Karaj is planning to bring new fabricated charges against two Kurdish political prisoners - Zanyar and Lokman Moradi. To this end, the regime’s intelligence agents have produced bogus documents in the city of Marivan (in Kurdistan Province). Three Kurdish citizens sentenced in total to 44 years in prison According to Human Rights Activists News Agency, the revolutionary court sentenced, Kianoosh Rostami, Mohsen Khodaband Loo on charge of membership in Democrat Party, each to 15 years and on charge of insulting the supreme leader, each to 2 years in prison. Also, Nemat Fathi was sentenced to 10 years in prison on charge of «Baghy» (declaring war against the Islamic leader), by being a member in Democrat Group. These prisoners are currently kept in Diesel Abad prison of Kermanshan in Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhîlat). Need to be mentioned, according to Islamic penal, if the defendant is sentenced to prison for multiple charges, only the greatest penalty will be applied. Pressure on Baluchi political prisoners In another development, 19 Baluchi political prisoners held in the central prison of the city of Zahedan have sent a letter to international authorities and human rights organizations calling for the dispatch of an international delegation to visit the prison to look into the abhorrent prison conditions. The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights bodies and organizations to adopt effective measures to save the lives of political prisoners in Iran and to look into the demands of the striking prisoners and other political prisoners in Iranian regime’s dungeons. Iran: Kurdish political prisoners stage hunger strike in Orumiyeh Prison Today, November 22, the hunger strike by 30 Kurdish political prisoners in Orumiyeh Prison entered its third day. They began their hunger strike in ward 12 of Orumiyeh Prison on Thursday to protest the transfer of ordinary prisoners to the political prisoners’ ward. The objective of transferring ordinary prisoners to the political prisoners’ ward is to intensify the pressure and suppression of the political prisoners, especially that the regime brings elements of its Mafia gangs under the cover of ordinary criminals to the political prisoners’ ward to intensify the torture of political prisoners. The protesting prisoners are also demanding the return of 27 political prisoners that have been transferred to other wards in Orumiyeh Prison. At the same time, regime’s court in Karaj City is planning to bring up fresh fabricated allegations against two Kurdish political prisoners by the names of Zaniar and Loghman Moradi as their current file is empty. To this end, mullahs’ regime’s intelligence elements have started to produce bogus documents in the city of Marivan (in Kurdistan Province). hunger strike by 27 Kurdish political prisoners Kurdish prisoners on hunger strike in Urmia face threat of execution The hunger strike of Kurdish political prisoners in the Urmia central prison continues for the 18th day as administrators are responding to the protest with a threat of execution. The hunger strike by 27 Kurdish political prisoners was launched in protest against the Iranian regime>s decision for the transfer of criminal prisoners to the political prisoners’ ward in the central Urmia prison. Information obtained from the prison reveals that the Iranian intelligence service has many times threatened the prisoners on strike with execution or transfer to other prisons south of the country since their protest began. Osman Mostafapour who is also taking part in the protest has reportedly been interrogated by an intelligence officer this week. It is reported that in response to the threats uttered in order for the ending of the hunger strike, the political prisoners remain determined to continue their protest until their demand is met and non-political prisoners are removed from their ward. In the meantime, the health of the political prisoners is reported to be deteriorating as the hunger strike continues for the 18th day. Ali Reza Rasuli is reported to be refusing treatment despite having been referred to hospital several times. Mor 50 Arrested in Urumiyeh on Charges of Cooperation with Kurdish Groups Forces from the Orumiyeh Intelligence Office arrested at least ten Kurdish and Azeri citizens of Orumiyeh in late February on political charges, a local source told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran. In the intervening months, they have been interrogated and transferred to various prison wards, including the ward for violent criminals. According to the human rights activist, Orumiyeh Intelligence forces arrested Behrouz and Hassan Brokanlou, Mohammad Hassan Asadi, Mir Hadi Mousavi, Amir Hassan Behrouz, Afshin Mirzaei, Aziz Dalay Milan, Farzad Salamat, Abdolsalam Bahavar, and Khosrow Badavi in Orumiyeh, and searched their homes.
Since March 2013, security forces have arrested dozens of Kurdish citizens in the cities of Mahabad in Western Azerbaijan Province, Sanandaj in Kurdistan Province, and Paveh in Kermanshah Province. Some of these individuals were released on bail after a few weeks, but there is still no news of the fate of several others.

All arrested individuals were interrogated for a month at the Orumiyeh Intelligence Office Detention Center on charges of “cooperating with the Kurdistan democratic party (KDP) and Pjak.” The detainees were then transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison on March 22. On orders from the Orumiyeh Intelligence Office, prison officials have transferred the political prisoners to separate wards, including the methadone ward the ward for convicted murderers. Farzad Salamat, Abdolsalam Bahavar, and Khosrow Badavi were transferred to Ward 14 (Methadone Ward); Behrouz Brokanlou and Mir Hadi Moussavi were transferred to the Juvenile Ward; Hassan Brokanlou was transferred to Ward 13; and Hassan Asadi, Amir Hossein Behrouz, Afshin Mirazi, and Aziz Dalay Ilan were transferred to Wards 1 and 2, where prisoners convicted of murder and robbery are kept. Since March 2013, security forces have arrested dozens of Kurdish citizens in the cities of Mahabad in Western Azerbaijan Province, Sanandaj in Kurdistan Province, and Paveh in Kermanshah Province. Some of these individuals were released on bail after a few weeks, but there is still no news of the fate of several others. Farough and Hajar (Farzad) Samani, two brothers arrested by security forces in Mahabad during recent weeks, were transferred to the Mahabad Central Prison. Two other Kurdish brothers, Massoud and Khosrow Kordpour, have been transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison. Another Kurdish detainee, Khedr Rassoul Morovat, was transferred from the Mahabad Intellligence Office Detention Center to Orumiyeh Intelligence Office Detention Center. Neither the Intelligence Ministry nor the Prosecutors’ Offices have provided any information about the above-mentioned arrests to the media or the families of the detainees. These individuals are denied access to a lawyer during “temporary detention.
