EMPOWER Event Report AIESEC Chandigarh

Event objectives:   

Showcasing AIESEC culture to AIESEC applicants Brand positioning amongst youth Giving the youth of Chandigarh a platform to interact with a high profile company – Google & vica-versa

Key Highlights:    

Promotion via radio, posters, placards, website 350+ students from various colleges and backgrounds attended the event Session by Google India on Leadership 13 AIESEC interns, 10 AIESECers & 2 Alumnus facilitated team games at the event

Promotions: a) Promotion activities: a. Posters put up in major colleges and student hangouts: 200 b. Placards distributed in major colleges and student hangouts: 12,000 c. 14 Newspaper articles and advertisements in Hindustan Times, The Tribune, Indian Express, Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala. d. Promos on the Radio on 94.3 MyFM b) Places a. b. c. d. e. f.

where the event was promoted: All major colleges of the city Educational institutes which are partnering with AIESEC Student Center, Panjab University Campus Cafés: Mocha, Nik Bakers, Oven Fresh, Hot Millions, Indian Coffee House, Java Daves Major student hangouts like Sector-35,Sector-17, Sector-10 & Sector -11 In Fun Republic, there was a promotional event called “Leading The Change” for two consecutive days. 7 trance slides were put up all over Fun Republic mainly at the entry and exit points.

c) Registration process The students could register for the event by either of the following processes: i. ii.

Agenda a) Registration: All participants were allocated a Group and a Sub-group. There were five groups namely Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa. There were further 10 sub-groups in each group named after countries in that particular continent. All participants were seated according to their groups in the auditorium.


b) Introduction: Students were introduced to the event through a presentation and a video on leadership. Then they were lead to their respective areas for their team activity.

c) Team activities: Each group was facilitated by 5 Facilitators including International facilitators. After icebreakers (Evolution) the sub-groups within the group competed in one of the following team activities: a) Pipe Race b) Boat Race c) Human Tic-Tac-Toe

After finishing the team activities, there was a brief sharing session within the group on team work, competition, strategy and leadership. The groups also came up with roll calls for their continent. There was sharing from the audience about their experience after moving back into the auditorium.
