ABOUT THAILAND
As one of Cambodia’s neighbouring countries, Thailand is one location in Southeast Asia that will amaze you with their familiar but different culture! At one glance, you may think there are many similarities but experience it like local to truly understand what Thailand has to offer. After all, it is only one bus ride away!
THAI CUISINE
Thai cuisine varies depending on the regions with influences from bordering countries in combination with local flavours of lime juice, lemon grass and fresh coriander which gives it very distinctive taste! Try the authentic Tom yam goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง) in its country itself if you want to experience the true Thai spice!
CULTURAL IDENTITY
Thai cultural values include family-orientation, respect for elders, positivity and politeness - sounds familiar? The whole population shares strong sense of traditions and cultural identities which has great influence from Buddhist principles and slight contribution from Hinduism. If you are thinking you already know Thailand well, think again.
PROJECTS IN THAILAND
Most of Thailand projects are based upon SDG #4 Quality Education as education is the most fundamental issue just like in Cambodia. You are not required to be from teaching background to become a teacher in this project - just yourself, your enthusiasm and your experiences so far!
