“Hey everybody, I just want to say that the month of February has been outstanding! We have had many different events, such as Spaghetti Night, Ohana Night, and of course, our Club Elections! I am so proud of the things we have accomplished throughout our term, and am glad that we are finishing it off with such amazing service coming from you, the members! Also, we have a BIG event coming up. That’s right, DCON is coming around the corner pretty soon. We will get to see the convention and learn more about Key Club, through formal yet spirited ways. We also have other upcoming events, such as Tree Planting and our Club Elect Training. Speaking of Club Elects, CONGRATULATIONS to the new officers of the 2015-2016 term! Let’s show this next term who’s boss! So keep making sure to serve, serve, serve! And… go Thunderpups!”

Articles “On Valentines Day, my fellow friends and I went to volunteer at Spaghetti Night. It was a really fun event. Everyone was really nice and praised us for helping the people there. I remember the first thing we did was setting up the silverware, and guide the blind to the sign up counter. It was a bit awkward when guiding the elders, in the beginning, because I'm not good at socializing. But in the end I became adapted and had fun making small conversation with them. The most hectic yet fun part was serving the food. When the elders want some other food that I don't have I have to quickly go to the kitchen and get that particular food. I'm glad that I experienced this event as I acquired a new skill (serving people) and improved my social skills At the end, my friends and I got free food (I didn't get a free box of pizza) and a nice ride back home. I recommend others to join this event next year, and I would attend this event again (if I have the time to go next year). Also, I hope they would have a fun experience like I did a few weeks ago.â€?

Member of the Month Faith Sy “Our Thunderpup of the month for February is Faith Sy! Faith is currently a sophomore and is proud to be a part of this club that gives many opportunities to know the community and help our fellow citizens. She loves being around people that share the same interests such as volunteering and Key Club is perfect for her! For the month of February, she has participated in volunteering for our La Cañada’s annual Spaghetti Night. At Spaghetti Night she was at a rough start because she was trying to familiarize herself with the people who were visually impaired and asking them what they would like to have. After a while, she had gotten used to speaking to them and had enjoyed the whole night throughout just serving with a smile. Faith has also accepted the responsibility of being a board member! Seeing how much fun and how great it felt helping others in events, she wanted to expand her great abilities as being our newly elected secretary for the new term! Our club can’t wait to see what she has in store for us! You rock, Thunderpup!”

Officer of the Month Ruben Anguiano “Our officer of the month for February is our treasurer, Ruben Anguiano! He always does his absolute best to make our club shine and is very enthusiastic in his work! He loves that great rewarding feeling of seeing others smile and is willing to do any task! For the month of February he has attended our event in Spaghetti Night and has also decided to take his Key Club experience to another step as being our newly elected vice president! Although it was a Saturday night, he still wanted to come and help out with his fellow members. At Spaghetti Night he was seen as an accommodating server who enjoyed seeing the Kiwanis’ faces as he helped served them. He enjoyed Spaghetti Night with our other club members and is willing to go back again next year! As for elections, Ruben has ran for the position of vice president to increase his knowledge of Key Club to grow and develop more skills as a dedicated leader! Keep on howling Ruben!”

Meet Your New Club Elects! Congratulations to our new Key Club Board elects of the new term! I’m so glad to announce on the behalf of our club that our new board has finally been elected, and that the new term coming up will be a great one for our new elects! The new elects are active members in our club who seek to serve their community and represent what Key Club is all about. Not only are they active serving members, but they are fully spirited in what they do, which adds more joy and flare to the events they volunteer in. On March 8th, the current board members will have a small training conference with the newly elected officers to show them the ropes of being an officer, how to do their submissions, what they can offer to our club, etc. The new term will be packed with new and different ways to serve in our club and will be led greatly, I just know it!

Also, to the other candidates who ran, don’t worry! There’s always the next term to run for a position, and you can still serve the club in tremendous ways! Just remember that your service will always be what we’re grateful for. Keep howlin’ with service, no matter what!
