A Message from Our… President — Lizelle Oreno

Bulletin Editor — Aja Archuleta

“Hello Thunderpups! I hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving break, taking the time to be thankful for all you have. I want to say thank you to YOU! If it wasn’t for our awesome members, we would not have a club! Thank you for your willingness in volunteering in our service events to make others happy! For this past month we’ve had events such as our Region 7 Fall Rally! Our members enjoyed cheering and being with other Key Clubbers having the same spirited attitude as we fundraise for PTP! As the month of December starts, the season of giving starts as well! We want to be able to help those in need like babies with special conditions at Children’s Hospital LA with our baby blanket drive, and gifts for foster homes! We are also looking forward to seeing our members participate in the Rose Parade Float Decorating which is always fun and exciting! I hope many of you can make it to our events in December! In the meantime, stay warm and keep on howling!”

“Hello everyone! Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! Hope you got to rest and spend some time with your families (and, of course, eat). As you all came back from break, I hope that you know how thankful we are for you guys! For every meeting you’ve attended, for every event you volunteered for, we thank you! Now, for the past month, we’ve had events like Fall Rally and Mutt Strut, which were extremely successful. We hope that those of you who got to attend Fall Rally had fun and got to meet other members of our region, Region 7, as well as learn about PTP and what it stands for! As for Mutt Strut, thank you to all those who attended and got to help cheer the participants and their dogs on! Amazing! Although we didn’t have many events for November, your spirit has shone through nonetheless, and will do so again in December, so remember to keep on howlin’, Thunderpups! And thank you once again for your tremendous participation!”

Articles “Fall Rally 2015 was such a great experience. This was my fourth and last Fall Rally, but this was definitely one of the most memorable Fall Rallies that I have ever attended, all thanks to our amazing division and its spirited and dedicated members. It was, once again, so amazing to see so many people representing their own division all come together to raise money for PTP! Even though I only rode one ride that day, I really enjoyed meeting so many people from other divisions. I also met and even got closer with a lot of people from our own division who were all underclass men and new to Key Club. I highly recommend everyone to at least attend one Fall Rally during their high school years because the experience this event holds is very memorable and definitely unique!”

Joyce Gineta — Mutt Strut (11/14)

Jeffrey Fernandez — Fall Rally (11/14)

“Mutt Strut was such an amazing volunteering experience. I volunteered with Xochitl and Aida. We started to set up the preregistration and registration tables by organizing papers and shirts that we had to later give to the runners and their dogs. Volunteering at the pre-registration table was a great experience because I got to meet new people who were running for a cause, and meet their adorable dogs!!! My favorite part of volunteering was cheering the runners at the finish line, knowing that they ran so many miles! My most favorite part of volunteering was the part when we were entertaining the crowd with our coolest dance moves!! Volunteering at Mutt Strut was an amazing experience because not only did I spend it with my great and amazing friends and the wonderful, Ms. Harada, but we also volunteered for a great cause!”

November 2015 — Joyce Gineta

Thunderpup is none other than Joyce Gineta! Joyce is currently a senior, and has been a part of Key Club since freshman year! Although she can be a bit bashful and reserved on the outside, I know that she is itching with spirit to help others on the inside! For this month, she has attended Mutt Strut with some of our other members, and had a great time participating in this event where people come to walk or run in support of the visually impaired that come along with their specialized dogs that help them in their everyday lives. At this event, she was seen as ready and set for any job given to her whether it is at registration, watching over dogs, and even cheering on the runners. Her cheerfulness rubbed off on every one of the runners giving them smiles as they crossed the finish line! Key Club can’t wait to how you’ll grow to be a leader who cares about others! Don’t ever stop howling, Joyce! Keep up the awesome work!”

Officer of the Month November 2015 — Jullie Dodon

“For the month of November, our officer of the month is Jullie Dodon! She is currently a senior, and is behind all of our club’s finances as the treasurer. Although Jullie is quiet and can be shy at times, her love for service is seen through her desire to raise money for our project, the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP). Jullie has worked hard this semester as she tries to juggle her other classes, but she is always trying to find ways to fundraise money for our club. She always has suggestions for sales at school. For the past months, she has neatly organized the dues payments for each member and makes it easier for us to keep in our club records. The club is looking forward to her many ideas to raise money and she hopes to gain the support in many of the members that her plans will follow through. When asked questions about the club’s finances, she is always up to date and ready to report her info to the whole board. Key Club will help Jullie to open up more and become stronger as a leader. We can’t wait to hear all the wonderful plans you have for the club!”
