A Message from Our… “Hey Key Clubbers! I hope all of you are having fun with your families for the holiday season! While you guys enjoy your presents, don't forget those who aren't as fortunate as we are. We've given back to others by having a baby blanket drive, and a toy drive for a nearby foster home! Events Key Clubbers have also volunteered in are preparation for the NELA Christmas Parade and our annual Rose Parade. Both events were enjoyable so I hope many of you can participate next year! Thank you for all the service you have done for this year! Looking forward to another great year with lots of spirit and service events ready for you guys! Let's be ready for 2016! Have a Happy New Near Thunderpups filled with happiness and cheer!”

Articles “I enjoyed decorating a Rose Parade float. It was a great experience because it was something I had never done before. I started off with cutting the flowers’ petals, then moved on to working on the float. I would do it again because i enjoyed working with my friends and being a part of making a successful float for the parade. I would recommend it to people who don't mind working for a long time and for individuals who don't mind redoing something if it is asked.”

! - Nicole Velasquez (Rose Float Decorating - 19th, 26th, & 29th)

“Volunteering to decorate the Los Angeles float for the rose parade was a remarkable experience. All the detail and hard work that goes into decorating the floats is stupendous. One would never imagine how long it takes just to cut and grind flowers to place on the borders of some small stars. I would definitely do this again if I got the opportunity to. I would also like to recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time with their friends, and anyone who loves to play close attention to detail. Overall, my experience was great and memorable and I would come back next year if I could.”

Member of the Month For the Month of December… !

Jasmin Benitez! “For this month of December, our Thunderpup of the Month is no other than Jasmin Benitez! Jasmin is currently a junior and it is her first year in Key Club! Although a little shy at times, once you get to know her she is very nice and friendly. Jasmin is always up for service, and this month of December she has showed her love to help out! this month, Jasmin has participated in our events such as the North East Los Angeles Christmas Parade and Rose Parade Float Decorating. At the NELA Christmas Parade, Jasmin was seen actively working to decorate the truck the club had been assigned to. She enjoyed putting props up with the other members getting into the Christmas spirit! In Pasadena for the preparations of Rose Parade floats, she had taken the task of cutting tiny flowers. Although this was a very tedious job, she still pulled through and was able to cut many pieces for the float! Jasmin has also showed her eagerness to help through our ongoing events by donating children’s books, can tabs, and our baby blanket drive! thank you for all you do, Jasmin! You will go far in Key Club! Keep on Howling!”
