zone, and that's great! We've had a lot of eager members doing our ongoing events, and also those wanting to go to our upcoming events, such as Duck Splash and AIDS Walk. I just want to remind you guys it's very important to turn dues in so that you can be an official member of Key Club! If any of you have ideas of service, please let me know, we want to do as much as we can! Again, thank you to all the new members we have! I know your dedication and willingness for service will go a long way in one's life!”
“Hey there, Key Clubbers! How have you guys been doing? Hopefully you’ve been working hard, because we have some awesome events for you coming up! The month of October has some well-known and loved events, such as Duck Splash and AIDS Walk, which are both division and region events. So for all you new members, I highly recommend you try to attend these events! Speaking of members, don’t forget to pay your dues! They are $13 as of October 1st, so please pay them in order to become an official Key Club member! Also, a huge thank you to those who had the chance to attend events for the month of September, and to those who didn’t have to chance to serve, there’s always October events and ongoing events! Alright, that’s all, Thunderpups! Keep on howlin’!”

Articles + Dues! “On September 26th, I went to the Regional Training Conference, also known as RTC. Everyone wore formal clothing, which made the event look professional. I had a great time there. I attended in five training conferences, where I learned about Key Club, our goals, public speaking and the duties of each board member. I did some ice breakers with other Kiwanis, and I also got to know some new people. Most importantly, I met our LTG Gabriela Valencia (and our ex-LTG: Arbyn)!!! Lunch was pretty good, too. I tried Costco's veggie pizza for the first time and I liked it. Our division then somewhat got into a spirit battle with Division 25E! In the end, our division had a DCM. Overall, I learned a lot about our club and got inspired to run again for a position in the board. I do recommend the members to go to next year's RTC if they are a board member and/or intend in running for a position.”

Member of the Month
“For the month of September, our
Thunderpup of the Month goes to Nicole Velasquez! Nicole is currently a junior and this is her first year of joining Key Club! She is very shy and quiet, but we know she is always up for service. We know that Key Club will help her get out of her comfort zone and help her reach out to others! For this month, Nicole has attended our division event at the LA Food Bank near Downtown LA. She was seen stacking canned food and sorting them out in bags that will be distributed. Although it was tiring to carry many boxes of canned food, she still worked ahead and was able to finish with a smile. This was Nicole’s first event, and she showed great persistence. Nicole was also eager to

collect can tabs for our ongoing events and has collected 100 tabs in just the first week of being in Key Club. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Nicole in this term! Keep up the awesome work, Nicole!”

Officer of the Month
September 2015 — Aja Archuleta!
“For the month of September, the
Thunderpup of the Month is our Bulletin Editor and Vice President of Service, Aja Archuleta! Aja is currently a junior, and although she spends most of her time studying for classes and dancing in our school’s dance club, she always makes time for service! Her newsletters are beautiful and always entertaining to read! For this month, she has attended the Region 7 Training Conference. At RTC, she was very attentive of the presentations held at the conference and takes note of the duties of a club officer. You can see her dedication for the club as she accepts to hold the office of Vice President of Service. Although it was of short notice, she still was willing to take the position along with her Bulletin Editor duties. She is constantly helping the president and her needs to help make the club run more smoothly. Aja also helped out in making our club’s spirit stick, which the club can’t wait to use for our upcoming Fall Rally in November! Keep on howling, Aja!”
