A Message from Our… Jeffrey Fernandez - President “Hello Thunderpups! This is your club president just wanting to THANK ALL OF YOU for ALL of your amazing work in the month of November! During November, we had a couple events in our community which was the Veteran's Parade and we also had other events with our awesome division which was our November DCM and FALL RALLY! To those who volunteered at our Veteran's Parade, I would like to thank all of you for waking up early to help with various tasks for the event such as closing down streets and setting up where each special group participating in the parade knew where to go. And to those who attended our division DCM and Fall Rally, I would like to greatly thank you all SOOO MUCHHH for being so dedicated and passionate for service! Fall Rally was a really great event where our division all cheered our hearts out in hopes of winning the all amazing SPIRIT STICK! Sadly, we didn't win the spirit stick but we still had so much fun riding many rides, meeting new people, and bonding with our division and our members! We will have many great upcoming events in the month of December which includes the annual Rose Float Decorating event which will most likely be around Christmas Break! Thank you all and please continue serving on!”

Aja Archuleta - Bulletin Editor “Hey guys, this is your bulletin editor Aja, and thank you to all of you for the service you contributed in this month! While this month was busy with Fall Rally, you guys have still been participating in events such as Braille and the Veterans Day Parade with an abundance of spirit. Speaking of Fall Rally, to the the members who attended the event, how did you guys like it? It was an amazing experience for seeing all of the different clubs and divisions in our district, showing our spirit in full force, and have a fun and memorable experience all around. Unfortunately, our division didn’t get the Spirit Stick this year, but next year we’ll show our Wolf Spirit and go all out! It was great seeing you guys cheer your lungs out for Key Club and our division, and it was even better hearing how much you enjoyed the event when we had our next Key Club meeting. All in all, this month has been a great one, full of fun and service. But also remember: Christmas time is coming! So be prepared for a handful of events next month! And go Thunderpups!”

Articles “On Saturday, November 15 , was one of Key Club's biggest event, Fall Rally. At first, I didn't really want to go because it was during my Chinese lessons and the day before my midterm. Also being an introverted person, I was hesitant to go. But after hearing some experiences from last year I decided to pause my studies and go out to improve my social skills. Fall Rally was really fun and crazy! I met some Kiwanis from our district, (and the LTG and I sat next to him in the bus, it was awful) and bonded with the members from our club! I also met a lot of Kiwanis from different districts, and they look really cute in their district shirts! Some were giving out free hugs, and if someone would've told me this I would've made a free hug poster.....Anyways! The cheer session was completely crazy! Each district was cheering as loud as possible in order to win and go to the next round. Sadly, our district didn't win however we had a fun experience. Also, I went on some rides, but I didn't go to the big and "fun" rides such as the Full Throttle and Goliath (to be honest I chickened out). There are rides that I wanted to go but the line was too long. I saw a lot of Spirit Battles when Fall Rally was about to end. My favorite food was the funnel cake and I regret drinking hot chocolate because I got crazy during the ride back to Hoover High school...so yeah. I would love to participate Fall Rally again (with my free hugs poster), and whoever didn't go should because it's a wonderful experience!

Articles “During my week off, on Tuesday I went with my club to Braille. Braille is always a fun event to go to and it’s a very calming environment when I go there. The people are extremely nice and I love helping them stack the audio tapes and or the cassettes for the visually impaired. Just knowing that you are making it easier for those who help the blind gives you a nice feeling. We are privileged to have sight and to read, so my club and I wanted to help those who have gone through a condition leading to their loss of sight. We have had a a couple of members with us, and it was their first event so I hope they enjoyed it as well! Braille is a always a must go when you’re a member of our club, it’s one of our best ongoing events! You feel good inside when helping those who have supported the disabled their whole life and I look forward to the many other events we have with our members, whether old or new!”

Member of the Month Our Thunderpup of the month is none other than, Steve Carbajal! He is currently a sophomore and is very hardworking in our events! Steve is someone who is quiet at first, but once you get to know him, he’s full of spirit and cheer! This is his first year in Key Club, and he’s had a blast at our previous events with our other members and loves helping others with whatever they need. During this month, Steve has attended the Veteran’s Day Parade, and also Braille. At the Veteran’s Day Parade, Steve woke up very early about 6 on a weekend to be at the parade. He was very hardworking accepting any task given to him from the leaders of the parade, and had been volunteering till the afternoon! Although tiring, he was very determined to finish the work. Steve has also attended Braille during Thanksgiving Break. At Braille he was enjoying being around his peers and working together as a team with the cassette tapes arranged for the blind. Steve enjoys all the events he’s attended to at Key Club. We can’t wait to see how much our club has in store for him!

Officer of the Month Our officer of the month for November is our president, Jeffrey Fernandez! He is currently a junior and loves everything about Key Club, but he is always focused on the service! Ruben loves helping others and making them happy, so he strives to do his best in whatever task he’s told to do. During this month, he has attended the Veteran’s Day Parade and Fall Rally! Although volunteering for the parade was early in the morning, it didn’t stop Jeffrey because he was determined to help others set up a parade in recognition for those fighting for our country. He was helping different groups participating in the parade to be in the right order and helped closed some streets for the parade. As for Fall Rally, he led practices the week before and tried his best to teach the new cheers to the other members. Although a shy one at first, he can get loud on the stage. Jeffrey was upset our division didn’t get the spirit stick this year, but he’s even pumped to get it next year! He’s done a great job in keeping our club on track! Keep on howling Jeffrey!
