THE MEDICARE ANNUAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD (AEP) ENDS ON DECEMBER 7. NOW IS THE TIME TO ENROLL IN A MEDICARE PLAN OR SWITCH PLANS FOR 2023.

Avariety of Medicare Advantage plans are available from Independence Blue Cross (Independence). Keystone 65 HMO and Personal Choice 65SM PPO plans both have monthly premiums as low as $0, doctor copays as low as $0, and $0 copays for the most commonly prescribed prescriptions.

All of these plans include dental, vision, and hearing bene ts, a quarterly allowance to spend on eligible overthe-counter health products, and a free membership to the largest Medicare national gym network — including all of the area’s YMCAs. And Independence has the area’s largest choice of doctors and hospitals, making it easy to nd health care providers who are in-network.

Our Keystone 65 HMO plans have received a 5-out-of-5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for 2023. This is the second year in a row that they’ve been awarded 5-stars — a testament to their outstanding quality and customer service. Independence’s Personal Choice 65 PPO plans also earned a strong 4-out-of-5-star rating.

To enroll, new members should visit ibxmedicare.com/2023plans or call 1-888-234-8860 (TTY/TDD: 711) to discuss their plan options with a representative. But time is of the essence. Act now to avoid missing the December 7 deadline!

For existing members, if you’re happy with your current plan, you don’t need to do anything! Your plan will automatically renew with your 2023 bene ts effective January 1, 2023.

Castillejo wants his story to give people hope. With that, he also hopes to encourage the Latine community to engage with researchers and participate in research and trials. Latine people make up less than 8% of clinical trial participants in the U.S. despite being 18% of the population.

At his mayoral campaign announcement, Brown struck a chord similar to Domb in advocating for stronger leadership, but with a will to change things.

“I see City Hall and they do nice speeches, they have fancy press releases, they do lots of reports and they spent a lot of time blaming other people for the failings they created,” he said. “That system perpetuates poverty. Asked whether Governor Abbott had given the city a heads up, Gym said “they didn’t expect any.”

“In terms of that individual, the Texas Governor who put a literal 10-year old to a bus for hours and hours, who was dehydrated and had a fever, he’s the one who’s inhumane. He needs to answer for that ridiculousness of a political stunt that he wants to conduct,” Gym remarked.

“But our city is meeting this moment with humanity, and skill, and professionalism, and actual services.”

Although the city doesn’t know if more migrant buses are Philly-bound, Gym affirmed the city is likely to commit to continued services.

“I think the city will be ready either way,” she said. z
