Members of Division 15 and 6N throw colors into the air for a group shot!

On a bright and shining Saturday afternoon, Division 15 and 6N joined together for a color war to conclude the 2016-2017 term. The DCM was also the last of D15 together as a whole, where D15N kept the giraffe mascot, D15S was born as the belugas, and D6N changed into D15E mantarays. At the end of the meeting, we finished off by enjoying the pleasure of throwing colored powders at one another. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN MAKING THIS YEAR SUCCESSFUL. ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB, WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK RICARDO (R-I TO THE C-K-YYYY) RUIZ, RETIRED LTG, FOR HIS SERVICE.

This is it, giraffes! Through the entire past term, it has been an honor to serve you as your Lieutenant Governor; and now, as the last month dwindles to a close, I can't help but feel a crazy wave of nostalgia and excitement about what we've accomplished this term. We won the spirit stick. We've raised over $3,000 for PTP, served over 14,000 service hours, chartered a new club, and are set to realign into two beautiful new divisions at the close of the term. I'll never forget the amazing things we've done, but it's always the most amazing thing to know all of the wonderful memories that are to come. Please give your beautiful new elects the same energy and love that I've felt this term, and remember that even if your Key Club journey is ending, your time as a servant leader is not over.

Stay amazing, stay passionate, and continue to the change the world. I love you all so much! See you at DCON and banquet! Love, Ricardo Ruiz (From D15 Key Club’s March Newsletter)

Alta Loma Key Clubbers throwing their colored powder into the air!

Feed the Children is an organization that aims to end childhood hunger. At this event, Key Clubbers aided by packaging food at Feed the Children’s distribution center. The food that gets packaged then gets sent to children in need. Other Key Clubs were present at the event too. “I had a fun time packaging because I got to indirectly help others, as well as enjoy other Key Club’s as they sang while they worked,” laughed Caitlyn Diaz.

Alta Loma Key Club went to the Cali-Nev-Ha District Convention (shortened DCON) to learn more about Key Club and the respective duties of individual club officers, as well as commemorate the end of the 2016 to 2017 term and mark new hopes for the start of the 2017 to 2018 term! At the convention, topics such as “How to BEE yourself” and “Graphic Standards” were presented by knowledgeable CNH members themselves to inform incoming officers and members on how to ensure a successful new term through Key Club. Of course business is always accompanied by fun with Key Club through spirit battles and Saturday’s Governor’s Ball! Left and right, clusters of divisions chanted at one another their division cheers, all while having a great time. Saturday’s Governor’s Ball was not one to forget! The Ball was practically like a Homecoming dance but with Key Clubbers who share the same values as each other, Sunday was a bittersweet day, as the day marked the end of convention, as well as retirement for Lieutenant Governors, Club Officers, and the Dictrict Leadership Team. It saddened all of us as a division to see our beloved Ricardo Ruiz cry on stage as we chanted his name as he received a distinguished LTG award to commemorate the end of his term. Although it was tiring to literally spend the entire day from morning to night in informational presentations and draining to wake up at the crack of dawn the next day, we wouldn’t have changed our experience at DCON.
