Hello Alta Loma giraffia! I’m so incredibly lucky to be serving as your editor and historian once again! This past year has presented its challenges, but I aim to come back stronger this year. Please anticipate all of the officers’ efforts and stay active in your service. Also, don’t hesitate to befriend or contact me, I hope to get to know all of you within the new term!

IPTQJUBM DBSET Since being sick and in the hospital as a kid can sometimes be discouraging. So, Alta Loma Key Club created “get well soon cards for the children of San Antonio Hospital. These cards were created out of colored construction paper, markers, stickers, glitter glue, and other cute decorations. Members individually designed cards and filled them with positive messages wishing the person receiving the card good health. During this time, members created their cards, talked to fellow members, and jammed out to music.

On May 19th, Alta Loma Key Club held their end-of-the-year banquet at John’s Incredible Pizza. At the venue, Clubbers all sat in one, giant booth to share their meal together. After finishing plates of pizza, gag awards were given, including titles such as “best rapper” to “most dedicated [to Key Club].” Members then migrated to the arcade, where we rode on the rides and played games. I personally enjoyed it because I became closer with some of my Key Club underclassmen peers.

DMBTTSPPN As students, we really appreciate our teachers’ dedication toward servicing us with knowledge. In return, Key Clubbers of Alta Loma decided to end the school year by aiding teachers with their end-of-the-year packing and cleaning. Each set of students were given designated teachers to help. Many of us eventually aided the school library, where we were assigned to label and insert hand-outs in new school year packets, rebind damaged books, and put books back onto shelves. One day of volunteering was definitely not enough to aid the teachers so many of us ended up coming for multiple days. Helping the library was nice because I didn’t realize just how many duties the librarians were assigned over the summer, especially because it would have been tedious for only two librarians to finish on their own.

EJWJTJPO CBORVFU This year’s banquet marks the official break between Division 15 North Giraffes and Division 15 South Belugas. The night was filled with speeches, GAG awards, pictures, good food, and bittersweet times with our full division. This year has been very busy, hectic, and stressful, but it has also come along with long-time memories, smiles, and happiness. Despite splitting the division, former members of D15 will remain one in spirit. Thank you to all of the division’s officers, members, and espcially the division leadership team for making this year memorable!

Relay For Life is a community based fundraising event of the American Cancer Society that takes place to further fund the efforts to find a cure for cancer. Key clubbers aided the Relay for Life event by setting up in preparation for the actual event that would be held the following day. Members set up all the chairs into organized rows. They also helpes put up booths and stands. “The people there were all very friendly and we helped them carry their bags and props from their cars to their stations. We basically provided help whenever someone needed it, says Chenghui Wang.

FRVJQ *OUFSOBUJPOBM Alta Loma Key Clubbers helped their Kiwanis advisor, Joe Cano, throughout the week from Monday to Thursday. At this event, our Kiwanis Advisor needed help with setting up the international convention-like event regarding missionary work. Members helped by setting up food platters, throwing away trash, moving items from room to room, and serving food to attendees. “The event was very fun because I helped alongside friends from Alta Loma and Upland and because we met people from various parts of the world. Their accents were especially cool! says Regina Tambunan.
