Introducing the production of caviar as

“an art more than a science,” Mr. Alcalde proceeded to entertain the group with stories from his years of field study in places including Russia, Iran, China and Europe. While the Caviar Master has the ultimate control of caviar production, Mr. Alcalde explained that the farm utilizes scientific controls to monitor everything from the feed ingredients to the actually microchipping of individual fish to track and quantify the best outcomes of the caviar production process. Out of 200,000 fish, they have approximately 30,000 microchipped at any given time. According to Mr. Alcalde, this allows them to harvest each fish at its proper maturity and not when the market demands product. As a point of reference, he explained that it takes about six to eight years for a fish to mature enough to produce the "best" eggs and the highest yields.

Publishing unveiled their inaugural issue of Muses & Visionaries Magazine at an exclusive launch party on November 1, in West Palm Beach, Fla. The event introduced more than 1,000 guests to the publication, including up-and-coming Palm Beach society, grand dames and a multitude of area business owners and professionals. Tennis player Venus Williams, Congresswoman Lois Frankel and M&V's cover girl Amanda Lindhout were also in attendance. Lindhout is a freelance journalist who was kidnapped and held for 460 days in Somalia. She recently released her story in the memoir A House in the Sky, co-written with New York Times Magazine writer Sara Corbett.
