News Editor's Note

Hiya BBs! Summer is offically over (for most of us I think) and hopefully we're all getting back in the swing of things, meaning club rush, homework, new members and more homework *cries*. With that, be sure to advertise and come out to our next DCM on August 27th at Red Hill Park across from Alta Loma, come pie the DLT, but not me ͞). Not much else to say but good luck to all you hardworking officers, as well as members, thank you for all you do! Have an amazing rest of your month, I know you will all do great!!

Lieutenant Lieutenant Governor's Governor's Note Note

Hello, Giraffes! I really want to thank you all for bearing with me this past two months; because of a family situation I was out of town a lot, had to leave the July DCM early, and completely missed R13 Beach Clean Up. And yet, you all continued to work hard and show up to events, and made me so so proud! As we get back into the school routine, I just want to remind you all to put your physical and mental health first TREAT YO SELF and prioritize that above all! Despite the stresses of AP classes, upcoming SATs, FRS season, and trying to maintain a social life, I know you all can do it, and prosper and grow. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, don't forget to serve! Service is the most important part of what we do as a club, and benefits so many lives. As new members join during fall season, be sure to demonstrate the life changing effects that it can have, and share your passion. If you or your club is having difficulty finding events to attend, PLEASE don't hesitate to email me (d15n.cnhkc.ltg@gmail.com) or Event Coordinator Grace Yang (d15n.events@gmail.com). Each and every one of you means the world to me, and serving you is a total joy. Please never hesitate to contact me if you need absolutely anything (I LOVE receiving your questions)! I love you all, ALL HAIL GIRAFFIA!

D1 5 Olympics & DCM

As our last Division event for summer, the annual D15 Summer Olympics was a blast! This was a day full of fun, games, and food! We even dontated all profits from the ice cream to PTP. After the olympics we had our individual DCMs, and discussed what went down the last month! We also gave out our monthly recognition (keep reading to see)!

CONGRATS!

Incredible Edibles This event we helped set up for the event that would occur at YMCA later on that nigh, for the most part. We set up a beautiful glass pyramid as well as added a nice design to the plating. Not only that, but our Key Clubbers also helped set up the tables and chairs for the event! Incredible Edibles enjoyed our service so much, they even offered us jobs if we ever need it at 18!

Vacation Bible Study

During MidJuly, I went to help out at Salvation Army’s Vacation Bible Study along with some other officers from Rancho and Upland. At 10 am in the morning, we helped them draw cute pictures on the wall by outlining the pictures from the overhead. After that, we helped them paint the tracings with glow in the dark paint for this year’s theme was outer space, which was pretty cool. Another volunteering group also came in to help and we got to know them a bit. The people responsible for the event were so kind to us, always giving us food and thanking us for the help. The service event may have been tiring and a lot of work but I still had so much fun with everyone. Our hard work pays off as we would end the days we volunteered there looking at the glowing props and pictures on the wall in the dark. Personally, I would always leave the church exhausted yet happily satisfied with the thought of helping them. Charlene Sangalang
