Lieutenant Governor's Note

HELLO MY BEAUTIFUL Gs!!!

My name is Allie Price, and I feel absolutely blessed to be serving as the first ever Division 15 North Lieutenant Governor! I've been involved in Kiwanis since 4th grade when I joined KKids, and my love for it since then has only grown. Key Club is 100% the highlight of my high school experience, and you all mean absolutely the world to me. Please please pLEASE never hesitate to contact me! I love hearing from you guys, and NO question is bad. You simply GOT to hit me up, so that together we can help the division reach new "heights" and thrive as an Ohana through Service. Love you, my babies!

OTC & JUNE DCM

what is otc?

Officer Training Conference is an annual event for new Club Officers to gain necessary leadership skills and training for the term. Various workshops will be provided to cover all necessary skills to be a successful leader. Not only will you learn to become a better Club Officer, but you will also learn about Key Club's Major Emphasis and preferred charities. Meet members from other divisions, learn something new, and have fun! You don't have to be an officer to attend all members are welcome!

dcm

Before presentations began, all 4 divisions headed out to start their individual DCMs. Like other DCMs, we started with updates from all the clubs, then moving on to recognition ( check them out at page 11! ). We also announced our new committies, such as spirit, website, fundraising and more!

Classroon Cleanup and Packing As students, we really appreciate our teachers’ dedication toward servicing us with knowledge. In return, Key Clubbers of Alta Loma decided to end the school year by aiding teachers with their endoftheyear packing and cleaning. Each set of students were given designated teachers to help. Many of us eventually aided the school library, where we were assigned to label and insert handouts in new school year packets, rebind damaged books, and put books back onto shelves. One day of volunteering was definitely not enough to aid the teachers so many of us ended up coming for multiple days. Helping the library was nice because I didn’t realize just how many duties the librarians were assigned over the summer, especially because it would have been tedious for only two librarians to finish on their own.

Relay For Life

This event was the best event of June as Division 15N teamed up to fight against cancer. Upland Key Clubbers came and helped set up the day before for a couple hours. On the day of the actual event the tents, chairs, and posters set up from the day before were all ready. Alongside Ken Moore the Key Clubbers passed out flyers that talked about tips on avoiding skin cancer. The event was amazing and fun as Upland Key Clubbers help run the booth and sell raffle tickets and bread!

Soups On

Soups On was an event hosted in which Soups from various other members of the community made. With this people tried and observed their favorite soup which essentially would win the golden spoon. The Key Clubbers were the ones actually serving the soup and catering to the participants and visitors of the event. They also helped clean up as well as helped set up the tables and chairs. One elderly lady said, “Without you guys I don’t know how we could do this.” It was overall a fun event where in the end the Key Clubbers were able to try the amazing soup.

Los Osos Banquet

On May 19, 2017, the Los Osos Key Club ended the year with our black and white themed banquet. The banquet consisted of food, a photo booth, music, and various awards. The 2017 Los Osos Key Club banquet took us down memory lane, and made us reflect on all the memories we have managed to make in a short span of time. Key Club has brought different individuals together and started a family in which none of us could’ve imagined. The banquet was filled with laughter and tears as we shared our last moments together during the 20162017 school year. It broke our hearts to see the seniors leaving and off to college, but we know that the memories and bonds we have made with them will not be forgotten. We are all proud giraffes and we will use the tools that Key Club has equipped us with to continue to change the world, starting with our own communities.

Butterflies in May

This event was very fun for the Key Clubbers as we were able to help kids discover more about butterflies and how they are formed. For the most part we just helped them decorate their box where they kept their butterflies in. After this we cleaned up and scrub the tables and checked the floor for stickers. It was overall a fun event that was sadly not longer. While it wasn’t a big event the smiles on the kids were pretty big.
