ANAHEIM COMMUNITY SERVICES NEWS Historic Mother Colony House Celebrates 165 Years It’s the 165th Birthday of the Mother Colony House! George Hansen, the Los Angeles Vineyard Society superintendent, who had the formidable task of creating a vineyard colony in a semiarid region, built the house in 1857. Known as a symbol of Anaheim’s viticulture era, it is the oldest remaining wood-framed building and was the first historical museum in Orange County. Learn more about the historic house at the Open House Tours on the first Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Founders’ Park, or visit Anaheim.net/2475/Founders-Park.
