TEEZILY POST - JUNE / JULY

INTRO Dear Zilers, I am very happy to launch the second edition of the Teezily Post, our magazine designed specifically for you. In addition to special tips and insights for successful campaigns, we decided to show you the ‘behind the scenes’ of all our projects. As Head of Operations, this is definitely my field. Obviously, all of our updates are for your needs as sellers and are put in place in order to break down the e-commerce barriers. For example, we are committed to making the payout process as fast as possible and minimize the transfer fees, which is why we have integrated Payoneer to our system. We fully recognize the necessity to enhance brand awareness and to build an international business: our Production & Operations team has worked very hard to launch and improve worldwide shipping. Indeed, our work is not finished here and we remain committed to reducing production and delivery times for your buyers. And brand new products are yet to come! We truly believe that through Teezily you will be able to “custom your dreams”! :) Last but not least, as a cofounder, I cannot but share a few words about the evolution of Teezily: we were born in 2014 as a young startup, we spent a few moments of crisis and we struggled to grow and establish ourselves in the e-commerce world. The current achievements would have never been possible without your full support and your understanding. Zilers, believe me, your feedback is crucial for us. We look forward to continuing on this path with you! Maëva MARCHAIS

Nicolas Clerget : Ziler of the Month E IN CH A M A KE LI RK O W TO D EE N E “W YET THINK LIKE A HUMAN” This time, we are honoured to feature Nico Clerget as Ziler of the Month. Having been using Teezily for only 10 months, he has sold more than 20 K products. It’s an incredible record that he has accomplished. Born and raised in a small city in North East France, he studied mechanics and engineering in high school. But after only one year working in a company, he quit and never looked back. Ever since, he adventured into the world of being an entrepreneur. Simply by typing “how to be rich” into Google, he launched himself to online marketing. He has experience working in MLM, Affiliation, E-commerce, e-mail marketing and Dropshipping. All of them are done by trial and error without any formal education. Now, he drops his anchor while expanding his business into the online T-shirt marketing with Teezily.

of the top sellers in that platform. Sadly, there was a big problem with my supplier which caused an inevitable mess for my store. People complained and gave me bad reviews for undelivered products. In the end, I had to close my account in June 2015. It is demotivating when your 8 months’ work is crashed and burned. Then I saw Teezily and I decided to give a try. Best decision ever. YES AND YOU HAVE BEEN MAKING A GOOD TURNOVER IN TEEZILY IN 10 MONTHS. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE YOUR WORK EVERY DAY? NICO, TELL US HOW YOU STARTED YO BUSINESS IN TEEZILY?

UR

I started doing online marketing in 2009 actually, then I opened a side business also by selling pizza in 2012. But my main income was from eBay. I had a dropshipping business there and it was my gold mine. I was one

I start my work every day at 8 a.m. By following a meticulous to-do list, I have a road map which leads me to accomplish several missions during the day. But as the business is growing, the workloads are getting bigger as well. Yes there is a moment when you lose your motivation to work. But there is no word for procrastinate in my

dictionary. On the other hand, I have been thinking about recruiting someone to help with my work while I concentrate on doing research and finding new ideas. INDEED, HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR IDE FRESH FOR YOUR MARKET?

AS

There is no magic recipe, honestly. Everything that I know, can be found in the Teezily groups and universities. Research and test your new ideas directly to the market in order to get a real response while hoping that they are going to like it. I had a bad period and it was frustrating. But the only way out is to just be persistent; recycle the old ideas, tweak the ads, improve the design and test again. IS THAT THE TOUGH PART?

Yes, you have to arm yourselves with heart of steel and again, and have an unbreakable persistence. It works like a pilot. The more time you fly, the more experienced you will get. I have 5500 FB ads in my account and growing. One of the biggest obstacles I know is a series of failures which lead to demotivation. I got myself out by taking few steps back, trying to understand the situation and fixing it. In online marketing, we need to work like a machine yet think like a human. When shit happens, do not hesitate to reach out for help and advice from others. Locking yourselves in your corner will just worsen the situation. I am glad that in Teezily we have strong sense of community where we can communicate with each other. Like a wise man said, if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

AT AS YOUR BUSINESS BLOSSOMS, WH IS GOING TO BE YOUR NEXT MOVES?

The day where I launched 5 till 10 designs every day is over. Now quality of the campaign matters more to me. I have 300 designs ready on stock which need my attention along with tons of details coming with them. Clearly, market expansion on an international level is going to be next on my to-do list. There is still an odd feeling for me to create campaigns in a foreign language. But I believe I need to get out of my comfort zone to conquer a bigger victory. And it is going to be a long winding road. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. BUT WHAT DO E YOU THINK OF THE FUTURE OF ONLIN T-SHIRT MARKETING?

I believe there is a bright future ahead. T-shirt is a renewable, appreciated and inexpensive for everybody. We can develop this business by adding more product choices like tote bags, pillow cases, helmet and any other items that can be personalized. That’s where the better future lies. ER BUT WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO BE BETT PERSON IN THE FUTURE?

Total freedom. All great people inspire me but my biggest inspiration is having total freedom. Will I really have it? I don’t know but by working as an entrepreneur, I am quenching my thirst by developing myself to learn new skills and to have new experiences. Finally I am able to make my family and friends understand why I quit my job in 2009 and “waste” 7 years of my life. It is well paid. Personally I thank Charles, Enzo, Maëva, Chedi and the team for transforming small Paris start-up into fast-paced online marketing platform where people can earn their living.

Get to know all about Trademark policies Before applying Trademarks, you should know your way around the basics. Knowing their restrictions and definitions makes it easier to handle them. So what is a trademark? A trademark is a proprietary term, recognized by a symbol, design, phrase or another insignia, that refers to one or several products or services. Hereby the scope of your trademark, depends on where you register it. There are three different kind of offices, the nationals, EU and international, where you can legally register or establish the exclusivity of your trademark. Notice that the scope on an international base, only covers the exclusivity of your trademark in countries you have chosen. Trademarks not only assure its exclusive use by its owner, but they also allow customers to identify a business and insure the product’s quality. Trademarks are based on policies, which particularly protect against exact copies or copies that slightly differ from the original, and therefore can be confused or compared by its consumers. The criteria for consumer confusion is very strict, since it does not requires from the consumer to have both signs in front of him at the same time. Furthermore the owner can prevent the use of a trademark even if his trademark is not filled in the product/service category concerned by the infringer use. The campaign could then be considered as authorized and initiated by the trademark owner.

Please keep in mind that the commercialisation / publication of any derivative work, always requires the original author’s authorization from the Trademark’s owner in any case of commercial use on Teezily. If no authorization has been given, this publication is prohibited and will automatically be considered as infringement and cancelled by Teezily. This would happen too if the design was too similar to its original trademark. (for example by using a different font or replacing simple graphics with other simple graphics) Again, there is no clear line for determining if it is a fair use. In serious cases, a court’s decision is required We all know that the European Football Cup is just around the corner – Here are given some Do’s and Dont’s you have to be aware of creating your individual Football Chersey.

Top trends in graphics MODERN RETRO: Modern Retro is all about the revival of the late 80s and 90s. If you print T-shirts with early models of mobile phones, Gameboys, Discmans, cassette tapes, vinyl records and all types of video games, you’ll evoke the nostalgia of all 20-30 year olds who grew up with this technology.

FLAT 2.0 Material Design, also referred to as Flat 2.0, is the evolution of the flat design movement that gained momentum in the early 2000s. Flat 2.0 is still flat and minimalistic, however, bold and contrasting colors, large fonts and shadow effects are added to improve the user experience. And even though this design trend has its origin in the IT industry, material design principles also gained attention in the apparel industry. Leading trainer producer Nike banks on flat designs in its new collections.

GEOMETRIC SHAPES The geo trend of 2015 continues in 2016 and is expected to become especially popular in packaging design. Characteristics for this trend: Triangles, rectangles and other geometric shapes are combined with 3D elements - a design that is aligned to the 80s.

COLORS In line with the 80s trend, bright, bold and vivid colors are on the rise. Electric colors will also be more frequently used in 2016.

MINIMALIST DESIGN Minimalist design will never go out of fashion. It works best with two contrasting colors like black and white. Also contrasts in motives (round, square, yin-yang etc.) as well as Sans Serif typography are characteristic for minimalism.

DRAMATIC TYPOGRAPHY This year you should go for typography that catches attention. It is all about bold, playful and dramatic typography that makes a statement. Drama can be created in different ways, through size, color, arrangement or texture. Below there are some links, where you can check out trendy fonts.
