shainberg art gallery Tennessee Craft-Southwest in the art gallery 2/1–2/27
Tennessee Craft-Southwest (formerly known as MACA, Memphis Association of Craft Artists) is a chapter of Tennessee Craft, a Statewide organization to promote fine craft and support craft artists in Tennessee. This show encourages collaborations between artists in different media. Participating artists collaborate with a fellow artist who works in a different media and together they submit a piece for the show. In addition to the collaborative piece, each artist may submit work of their own.
Memphis/Germantown Art League in the art gallery 3/1–3/27
A nonprofit organization of visual artists whose purpose is to aid its member artists in their professional growth and in the development of their artistic skills by providing exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, and other continuing education opportunities. In addition, the League works to enrich the community by presenting original fine art in public exhibits, participating in other community art activities and supporting art education in the schools. Organized on August 16, 1976, as the Germantown Art League, the group was chartered on June 22, 1977, as a nonprofit Tennessee corporation. In May 1988, the organization’s name was changed to Memphis/Germantown Art League in recognition of the wider geographical distribution of its members. Today the organization includes substantial membership from locations throughout the mid-south area and surrounding states. The League depends on all its members as volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors and committees and to assist in the work of the organization.

Being a fitness instructor has had a huge impact on my life. I am a better mom, wife, and person because fitness keeps me healthy, mentally and physically. The mind/body connection is a powerful element in a happier, healthier life. I have been teaching group fitness for almost 25 years. I have taught step, kickboxing, bootcamp, SPIN/cycle, and strength classes. What I enjoy most is seeing class participants reach new milestones they’ve set for themselves, anything from body fat loss and lean muscle gain, to increasing the weight load they use in muscle class because they realize they are getting stronger and
You have three options when working out: give in, give up, or give it everything you’ve got!
Teaching classes allows me to share my philosophy of “strong minds, strong bodies” with others. Hopefully, that message influences them as strongly and positively as it has me.
I enjoy seeing a full class and I hope the members know how much we, instructors, count on them to show up for class. My goal is to motivate all who attend my classes, but I hope the members, in return, know how much they motivate me!
I hope class participants walk away from my classes feeling stronger and looking forward to the next one. I want them to leave with a sense of accomplishment, a boost to their self esteem, and

Also, new to this program, workouts on Sundays will allow parents to complete the workout with challengers, helping further the commitment to setting healthy lifelong fitness goals.

Typically, it takes two months for costume orders to be completed and delivered. Therefore, it is necessary for the MSOD to take measurements as early in the spring semester as possible.
Rehearsals Please note that technical rehearsals will be necessary for all classes performing in the recital. The rehearsal schedule will be announced in mid-March. The time of the recital will be announced later in the spring semester.
Recital Program Ads Be on the lookout in March for the opportunity to purchase Program Ads. This is a great way for parents, family members, and friends to show support for a specific dancer, an entire dance class, a dance instructor, and/or the Markell School of Dance. For businesses interested in placing ads in the recital program, please contact the Jenni Nettleton, Markell School of Dance Director, at jnettleton@jccmemphis.org.
Recital Fee Due no later than Feb 1 • $45 per class • $90 for Company All dancers (except Movers & Shakers, Discovery Dance, and Adult classes) will owe a recital production and costume fee for the Markell School of Dance Spring Recital. Failure to submit payment may result in a dancer’s inability to participate in the recital. The recital will be Sun, May 3 in the Belz Theater. Dancers will owe a fee for each class they’re registered in. The fee for Company is $90.
