TWO-WIN WEEKEND
L
ee Westwood and Miguel Ángel Jiménez followed up impressive Masters performances with dominating wire-to-wire victories on the European and Champions tours, respectively. Westwood, after a 7th at The Masters, gave the Ketsch putter its first win with a seven-shot victory at the Maybank Malaysian Open. Jiménez, who was fourth at The Masters at age 50, earned the Greater Gwinnett Championship title in his debut on the Champions Tour. Westwood made 23 birdies for the week and made several long putts with his Ketsch in a bogey-free 4-under 68 in the final round. Jiménez, who won the Hong Kong Open in December, became the first player in history to win European and Champions tour events in the same season.

PING PRODUCTS WIN ON PGA TOUR

ee Westwood relied on PING’s new Ketsch putter to win the Maybank Malaysian Open on Sunday, and Louis Oosthuizen, who was T2, also had the easy-to-aim model in his bag. Westwood plays a standardlength Ketsch at 34”, with a shaft bend that gives him a straight stroke type. Oosthuizen uses a counterbalanced version at 37” with a 400-gram head. It is a slight-arc stroke type.
Alignment lines make the Ketsch easy to align, and an aluminum head with a 17-4 stainless steel sole weight creates a high MOI. Among mallets, it recently ranked #1 in accuracy from multiple distances in testing done by mygolfspy.com.
G25 3-wood, along with Anser hybrids (20º and 23º) were in the winner’s bag at the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour Sunday. PING technology has contributed to 13 wins on various professional tours since the start of the year.
