PING PROS BIG AT PRESIDENTS CUP

P

ING pros Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen were key contributors for their respective teams as an exciting Presidents Cup was decided by the final singles match on Sunday, with the U.S. prevailing 15 ½ to 14 ½. Watson was 2-1-2 at Jack Nicklaus GC in Incheon City, South Korea. He was part of foursomes and four-ball wins Thursday and Friday. Bubba tied his singles match. In his second Presidents Cup, Bubba moved his record to 5-3-2. Oosthuizen was a star for his International Team, going undefeated, 4-0-1. His dramatic eagle 3 on the 18th hole earned him a tie in his singles match, and gave his squad a critical half point. In two Presidents Cups, Louis is 6-3-1. In Saturday four-ball, Oosthuizen’s team outlasted Watson’s, 1 up.

BUBBA WATSON WAS FOCUSED IN HELPING THE U.S. IMPROVE ITS PRESIDENTS CUP RECORD TO 9-1-1.

PGA TOUR SEASON TEES OFF

H HUNTER MAHAN

unter Mahan, Angel Cabrera and other PING pros kick off the 201516 PGA Tour season this Thursday at the Frys.com Open, in Napa, Calif. Daniel Summerhays is also in the field, and he’s coming off his best year on the PGA Tour. He achieved personal bests in top

55 irons were in the winner’s bag Sunday at the British Masters on the European Tour, another title for the phenomenally successful model. The S55 was used to claim 20 titles worldwide in 2015 alone and many more since its introduction in October 2013.

Whether he was playing “PING” Pong in his Presidents Cup team room or golfing on the course, Louis Oosthuizen brought his ‘A’ game to South Korea. We don’t know his win-loss record in table tennis, but he went undefeated on the links, going 4-0 in foursomes and four-ball, and earning a tie in his Sunday singles match after winning the par-5 18th hole with an eagle 3. Following up a 320-yard drive, he hit what he called “one of the biggest 7-irons of my life” 214 yards over water to 11 feet, then drained the putt. It was the only eagle on 18 on Sunday, prompting a demonstrative celebration from the normally reserved South African.
