ubba Watson returns this week to the site of his miraculous victory at last year’s WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China. It was last November when he holed out for eagle from a greenside bunker on the 72nd hole using his Glide wedge, earning him a spot in a two-man playoff, which he won. PGATour.com proclaimed it the Shot of the Year. There were more compelling moments to come in Bubba’s 2014-15 season, as he went on to earn career bests in money at nearly $7 million, and top-10 finishes with 10 (two wins).
HSBC HONORS SOLHEIM PING Chairman & CEO John A. Solheim will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the HSBC Golf Business Forum in Shanghai on Nov. 3rd. Solheim is being recognized for his contribution to golf and his achievements, leadership and innovation within the business side of golf. In particular, HSBC saluted the Solheim family for creating the Solheim Cup in 1990 and elevating it to global success.

MAGGERT EYES POINTS CROWN

eff Maggert visited PING’s Gold Putter Vault on Monday to receive two solid-gold replicas of the Anser milled putter he used to win two major championships this season on the Champions Tour. The 51-year-old won the Regions Tradition and the U.S. Senior Open. Maggert tallied two more wins in 2015, bringing his putter count in the vault to 23. He is second in Charles Schwab Cup points heading
into this week’s Charles Schwab Cup Championship beginning Thursday at the Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. He is #1 on the money list with more than $2 million. He is one of only three players in the field with a chance to win the Charles Schwab Cup title. Also competing at the season finale will be PING pros Kevin Sutherland and Kirk Triplett. All three men will rely on a G30 driver.
