SONG PLAYS G IN VICTORY

P

laying a new G driver and 3-wood, PING Pro Young-Han Song prevailed over the world #1 to capture the SMBC Singapore Open by a stroke at -12, his first pro win and the first for the new G series. The victory wasn’t without suspense for the 24-year-old South Korean, who plays on the Japan Golf Tour. When the sirens blew, suspending play for the day in the final round, Song faced a 12-foot par putt on the 16th hole. After what he called a sleepless night, he came out the next morning and holed the putt, and went on to par 17 and 18 to maintain his lead and win.

Young-Han Song gave the G driver and 3-wood their first wins.

ouis Oosthuizen was among the latest in a fast-growing group of PING pros converting to new G series products. Oosthuizen relied on a G driver, 3-wood, 5-wood and a G Crossover in earning a T7 in Qatar on the European Tour. On the PGA Tour, Hunter Mahan played a G driver, 3-wood

and Crossover at the Farmers Insurance Open, following several PING pros who debuted new G innovation the prior week. The Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic saw Azahara Muñoz with the full complement: G driver, irons, hybrid, and two
