SONG PLAYS G IN VICTORY

P

laying a new G driver and 3-wood, PING Pro Young-Han Song prevailed over the world #1 to capture the SMBC Singapore Open by a stroke at -12, his first pro win and the first for the new G series. The victory wasn’t without suspense for the 24-year-old South Korean, who plays on the Japan Golf Tour. When the sirens blew, suspending play for the day in the final round, Song faced a 12-foot par putt on the 16th hole. After what he called a sleepless night, he came out the next morning and holed the putt, and went on to par 17 and 18 to maintain his lead and win.

Young-Han Song gave the G driver and 3-wood their first wins.

OF THE

WEEK

With his black-and-pink G driver, Bubba Watson demonstrated PING’s fastest, most forgiving model last week during Demo Day at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. Bubba talked to the crowd about his preparations for a tournament, his practice routine and his mindset in the majors as he worked through his bag before unleashing some towering drives. The two-time Masters winner tees it up this week in PING’s backyard at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where he has finished T2, 1 shot back, each of the past two years.
