LPGA HITS PHOENIX

T

he PING VIP range will be lively this week as a parade of PING LPGA pros visits for custom fittings and fine-tunings in advance of the JTBC Founders Cup, which begins Thursday. Of the 16 staff players in the field, 13 have one or more G Series products in their bags. Azahara Muñoz is all in, playing a G driver, two fairway woods, a hybrid, and the G irons. Angela Stanford carries a G driver, two fairway woods, and alternates between two G Crossovers. Eight players utilize a G driver; four play the G LS Tec (low-spin technology) version.

Azahara Muñoz is one of several LPGA pros relying on multiple G Series clubs.

BROOKE HENDERSON’S SHINING MOMENT

B

rooke Henderson, 18, visited the PING Gold Putter Vault last week, where she was presented a goldplated replica of the Scottsdale TR Craz-E model that she used to win her first LPGA title last August. PING Chairman & CEO John Solheim performed the honors.

Henderson was just 17 last summer when she set a tournament scoring record at the Cambia Portland Classic of -21 in a runaway eight-shot victory. She became only the third player in LPGA history to win before the age of 18, and just the second to win after Monday qualifying.
