WESTWOOD WINS ON ASIAN TOUR
L
ee Westwood heads to Wednesday’s WGCCadillac Match Play fresh off a victory Sunday at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. It was the third time he’s won the tournament and the ninth Asian Tour title for the Englishman. He holed an 8-foot birdie putt using his Ketsch putter on the first playoff hole in Jakarta after rounds of 69-7465-73. “I’ve never been beaten around this course, which is great and this win will give me confidence for the year ahead.”
LEE WESTWOOD EARNED HIS 42ND CAREER TITLE.
For Westwood, this week’s event will be his record 51st WGC appearance. See the tournament preview on the next page.
HENDERSON, 17, SETS COURSE RECORD
C
anadian sensation Brooke Henderson finished third, one shot out of a playoff at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco. In the process, she carded a course-record 7-under 65 in the second round and broke the tournament’s halfway scoring mark by three shots, at 135. She registered six birdies and an eagle in her 65 on Friday. Henderson, who won three pro titles as an amateur on the Canadian Women’s Tour before turning pro in
December, was playing in her second LPGA tournament as a professional. In Sunday’s final round, she hit 11 of 14 fairways with her G30 driver and averaged 270 yards off the tee. She is playing this season on sponsors’ invitations and competing in Monday qualifiers. Today (Monday) she was extended a sponsor’s invite to the ShopRite LPGA Classic at the end of May. See her What’s in the Bag on the next page.

She eagled the hole during her tournament-record 7-under 65 in Friday’s second round, and birdied it on Saturday. And during Sunday’s final round she eagled again, holing out from the bunker.
