U.S.A. RECLAIMS SOLHEIM
P
ING Pro Angela Stanford, playing in her sixth Solheim Cup, earned the biggest point of her career on Sunday at St. Leon-Rot GC in St. Leon-Rot, Germany. She posted one of eight victories in singles competition that enabled Team USA to take back the Solheim Cup trophy from Team Europe, 14½ to 13½ points. Trailing 10-6 to start the singles, Team USA mounted the largest final-session comeback in Solheim Cup history. The U.S. won the last five singles matches, including Stanford’s 2&1 result.
“We never quit believing,” she said. “Today everybody needed a win so I told myself I had to post mine. It’s really cool.”

his week’s season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta will feature PING pros Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen. At the BMW Championship in Chicago on Sunday, Bubba earned his ninth
top 10 of the season with a T10 after firing a final-round 6-under 65, one of the day’s best rounds. He was T2 in birdies for the week with 23. The world’s #4-ranked player heads to Atlanta fifth in FedExCup points. Because he’s among the top 5 in
points, a victory would guarantee Bubba the overall FedExCup title. Oosthuizen secured his spot in the Tour Championship after finishing -10 on rounds of 71-66-68-69. He posted four birdies on the back nine Sunday. He is currently 13th in the world ranking.
