ot easy these days to keep up with the world wide atrocities, aggressions. Unrests, kidnapping , killings, hijacking is just occupying most of the news. In between we have Grammy and Oscar events, overshadowed by all kinds of negativism. APPROACH got it´s part of the cake by getting criticised for a cover showing faithful, loyal and true Buddhist monks in prayer. However we arranged a friendly exchange of opinion with the BKK monks in charge of PR for this major Wat who was very concerned about the picture. Showing the Pope in blue jeans would have probably been the better option. There seems to be no humour anymore and so many people feel attacked, observed and persecuted. We decided not to become part of this dark side of life and shed some bright light. Had a nice conversation with a dear friend, publisher of Hot Hua Hin and we are going to cooperate in charities, Soi dog issues and environment problems. Let’s start off with World Wish Day.

Young and senior, equally rocked the dancing floors at both Resorts with life music from Chris & Maria and Focus with lead singer Jo Ann. Ritchie “Elvis” Newton added his “Just for Old Times Sake”, Teddy Bear and Jailhouse Rock series to wing a cheering crowd of Oldies and Goldies. Needless to mention the superb Buffets both at the Hyatt and Hilton, contributing
to the enormous success of the Multi Culti events so brilliantly organized by Lizzy and humbly MC´ed by Jerry. In 1982 it was decided that the flea market would be held at the Phahonyothin area from then on and it is later called Chatuchak Market after the nearby park under the same name. Until about 1995 the walkways were open to the sky and also to the rain. They then covered the walkways which stopped the rain in the rainy season, but also made the walkways hotter than before.
The market offers a wide variety of products including household items, clothing, Thai handicrafts, religious artifacts, collectables, foods, and live animals. For tourists, there are a number of onsite companies who will send purchases abroad. The Chatuchak Market owes its origin to Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram, the late prime minister of Thailand (1938–1944, 1948–1957), who came up with the idea of setting up a flea market in every town. Billy Holiday “Lady Day” (1915 - 1959)
Born April 7 1915 in Philadephia, Eleanor Fagan, grew up with her mother, Sarah “Sadie” Harris in Baltimore, Maryland. In her teens, Holiday took a job as a cleaner in a hotel, where she discovered the music of Bessie Smith and Louis Armstrong. Upon moving to Harlem in New York City with her mother in 1929, she began her singing career. In the early 1930s, Holiday sang for tips in clubs in New York, and it was around this time that she took on her pseudonym. When Holiday sang, she injected herself into her music, singing with such emotional clarity that today she is remembered as a jazz icon. In 1933 producer John Hammond introduced her to clarinettist Benny Goodman and pianist Teddy Wilson, with whom she performed and recorded during the swing era. This led to performances in big bands led by pianist Count Basie and clarinetist Ar tie Shaw. In 1944 Holiday signed a contract with Decca Records, with whom she recorded a series of hit songs, including “Lover Man,” “What is This Thing Called Love,” and “I Loves You Porgy,” Billie Holiday developed an intimate and personal style of delivery that has earned her legendary status in jazz. 1987 Won Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and was added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

MUSIC Sarah Vaughan “Sassy” or “The Divine Lady” (1924 - 1990) The vir tuosic and diversely talented singer Sarah Vaughan, was one of few jazz singers who was able to perform popular music to large audiences and jazz in small clubs with equal success. Vaughan began singing and playing piano in church. As a young girl, not yet of legal drinking age, she began to play and sing in jazz clubs in New York. In 1942, at age 18, she won the amateur night contest at Harlem’s renowned Apollo Theatre. In 1943, when Billy Eckstein formed his own big band, Sarah went with him. In what would become a fascinating period in jazz history, Vaughan worked with the jazz luminaries and fellow Eckstine band members Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis. Sarah soon transitioned to a solo career, signed the first of several recording contracts with Columbia Records 1949. 1954 Sarah Vaughan signed up with trumpeter Clifford Brown which was a great example of Vaughan’s jazz singing at its best. Her rendition of the Gershwin classic “Embraceable You” is a memorable gem from this session. Vaughan, called “Sassy” had vocal timbre with a distinctive smoky and rich quality. Her range was expansive, and she had impeccable control and vibrato.
This might have been enough to build a career for most singers, but Vaughan took her natural gifts even fur ther by incorporating the sounds of bebop, which was changing the jazz world in the 1930/40s. Emmy Award, for individual achievement, 1981 - Grammy Award for best jazz vocalist, 1982; “Gershwin Life” - Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, 1985 - Grammy Award, for lifetime achievement, 1989.
Ella Fitzgerald “The First Lady of Jazz & Song” (1917 - 1996) In front of a jeering and impatient audience, she decided to sing instead. She performed Hoagy Carmichael’s “Judy,” and the crowd was uproarious. After several encores she was awarded the $25.00 prize and had begun her career as a jazz vocalist. In 1946, Fitzgerald began to sing with Dizzy Gillespie’s big band. She developed a style of scat singing that could rival some of the most technically proficient instrumentalists. Not only could she mimic some of her scatting predecessors, such as Louis Armstrong, but she could also imitate instruments. On a famous 1960 recording, Live in Berlin, she imitates the sound of a bass bowing a solo on “How High the Moon.” In 1955 Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Songbook and Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Duke Ellington Songbook which are perhaps the two best known of this series. Fitzgerald’s Songbook recordings earned her critical acclaim and spread her popular appeal wide and far, beyond Ella Fitzgerald, born in Newport News, Virginia, August 25th 1917

Hua Hin by Train HUA HIN - BANGSAPHAN HISTORIC ROUTE PLANNED.
A
s Hua Hin is on the main (and only) north-south train line, it is easy to travel up to Bangkok or down to the Deep South.Train routes are normally more picturesque than bus routes and whilst this method of travel is generally slightly slower than the buses, it is infinitely more comfortable, particularly on long and overnight journeys. There are three classes of accommodation - 1st, 2nd and 3rd. • 1st class sleeper compartments are air- conditioned and for two people. They have a wash basin and there is even a cold water shower in the carriage’s toilet. Food and drinks can be ordered and brought to your compartment. This is a comfortable, relaxing way to travel long distances. • 2nd class accommodation comes in a variety of formats. Sleepers with bunk beds. Alternatively, there are seated carriages which can be either air conditioned or fan cooled. Both are comfortable ways to travel shorter distances during the day. • 3rd class carriages come with either padded or wooden benches and are surprising clean and comfortable for short journeys. Tickets can normally be purchased from Hua Hin station on the day of travel, but for the more luxurious carriages, forward booking is advisable. This is particularly essential during holiday periods when the trains are sure to be full. On the longer, more popular routes, advance tickets can be purchased 90 days before your date of travel.

People will enjoy traveling from Hua Hin to cities throughout Prachuab Khirikhan while sitting on a train that is of historic significance.The train was first used 50 years ago and has been parked at Hua Hin station for a long time,” Khun Siva explains.
The 1-day train tour of Hua Hin-Bang Sapan-Hua Hin is tailored for weekends and national holidays. The promoters aim to gain big earnings from the patronage of both Thai and foreign visitors. A Steam locomotive, historic train, is planned for this for short journey and is normally based at Hua Hin train station. The tour will be operating only on weekends, long weekends and national holidays.
Passengers enjoying their trip will be able to get off the train at any of the 25 stations along the track throughout Prachuab Khirikhan province; the last train station is at Bang Sapan. The scheduling of return trip will be given prior to departure and issued by State Railway of Thailand, Hua Hin train station office. There are many interesting tourist attractions along the way such as Khao Chong Krajok mountain, Ao Manao coast, Air Force Base 53, the Aquarium museum, King Rama 4’s Science National Park at Waa Kor, and so forth. At the last station which is in Bang Sapan, there are old ruins passengers can visit.There are many shallow water fishermen’s villages and coconut oil factories waiting to be visited as well. The government hopes that the first trip will be sometime in this coming May.
5 Top Day Trips by Train from Bangkok STEAm TRAIN JOURNEy TO AyUTTHAyA Setting off from Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong station at 8am and arriving at the Ayutthaya station at 10.30am. From there, an air-con bus will take you to the historic temple of Wat Maheyong on the outskirts of Ayutthaya Island. In the afternoon, you’ll be taken to Hantra
Memorial Royalty Park, where you can learn more about the province and its 16 districts. Get the train back arriving at Bangkok at about 9:30pm. Tickets are B555 per person, which includes return train tickets, transport by air con bus in Ayutthaya, tour guide, snacks and water.
ERAwAN wATERfALL AND SRINAkARIN DAm This trip takes off at 6:30am from Hua Lamphong, stops at Nakhon Pathom for 40 minutes and arrives at Kanchanaburi’s River Kwai Bridge at 9:35am. You can swim in the clear water here so bring swimming gear with you.
The train is scheduled to arrive at Bangkok at about 9:25pm. Prices are B620 for non air-con train and B740 for air-con train. Note that foreigners have to pay additional B400 per person to enter Erawan National Park.
HUA HIN AND SUAN SON PRADIPAT Whether it’s for some fresh sea air or seafood, Hua Hin is our long-term fave weekend escape and the picturesque train station alone is worth a visit. The train departs Bangkok at 6:30am from Hua Lamphong and stops off at Nakhon Pathom at about 7:40am for passengers to pay respect to Phra Pathom Chedi, Thailand’s largest pagoda, and shop at a local market. The journey continues after 40 minutes and is scheduled to arrive at Hua Hin at 10:30am or APPROACH MAGAZINE

you can opt to stay onboard and head down to the quieter beach at Suan Son Pradiphat, the Royal Army’s area with a hotel, a golf course, seafood restaurants and massage places in short walking distance to the secluded beach. It’s scheduled to get back to Bangkok at about 9:25pm.The trip runs every Sat, Sun and public holidays. B240 for air-con train and B120 for non air-con, excluding meals.
TRAVEL AmPHAwA fLOATING mARkET Available every Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, the day trip to the Amphawa market starts at the Wongwian Yai station, where the train takes off at 7:40am and arrives at Mahachai at 8:39am where you can walk around the market which is famous for dried seafood. You’ll get to see the canal-side way of living at the old Bang Noi and Amphawa floating markets, where you can also have some traditional Thai food and enjoy shopping. At 6:30pm you’ll be transported back to Bangkok by an air-con van which is scheduled to arrive at 8pm. Price is B499, including transport by an air-con van. SUAN NONGNOOCH, PATTAyA Just a little further from Pattaya, there is a botanical garden. The train departs Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong station at 6:40am, stops to pick up passengers from Makkasan, Klongton, Hua Mark, Hua Takae and Chachoengsao stations and is scheduled to arrive at Pattaya at 10am. Buffet lunch at the park’s Fuang Fa restaurant is included. In the afternoon,
the trip will take you to Pattaya Floating Market where you can shop for local products and have food cooked by sellers on the boats at the market. Songkran has traditionally been celebrated as the New Year for many centuries, and is believed to have been adapted from the Sankranti Hindu festival. It is now observed nationwide, even in the far south. However, the most famous Songkran celebrations are still in the northern city of Chiang Mai, where it continues for six days and even longer. It has also become a party for foreigners and an additional reason for many to visit Thailand for immersion in another culture. The date of the festival was originally set by astrological calculation, but it is now fixed. If these days fall on a weekend, the missed days off are taken on the weekdays following the actual event. Songkran falls in the hottest time of the year in Thailand, April at the end of the dry season. Until 1888 the Thai New Year was the beginning of the year in Thailand; thereafter 1 April was used until 1940. 1 January is now the beginning of the year.

The traditional Thai New Year has been a national holiday since then. The most obvious celebration of Songkran is the throwing of water upon others. Thais roam the streets with containers of water or water guns. In addition, many Thais will have small bowls of beige colored talc sold cheaply and mixed with water which is then smeared on the faces and bodies of random passersby as a blessing for the New Year. Sometimes this talc is mixed with menthol. Besides the throwing of water, people celebrating Songkran as a Buddhist festival may also go to a Wat (Buddhist monastery) to pray and give food to monks. The throwing of water originated as a way to pay respect to people, by capturing the water after it had been poured over the Buddhas for cleansing and then using this “blessed” water to give good fortune to elders and family by gently pouring it on the shoulder. Rocking Rama A MUSICAL HERITAGE STORY BASED ON THE RAMAYANA.

he Ramayana is one of the great Hindu epics. It is ascribed to the Hindu sage Valmiki and forms an important part of the Hindu literature. It depicts the duties of relationships, portraying ideal characters like the ideal father, ideal servant, the ideal brother, the ideal wife and the ideal king. The name Ramayana is a compound of Rama and Ayana (“going, advancing”), translating to “Rama’s Journey”. The Ramayana tells the story of Rama (an avatar of the Hindu supreme-god Vishnu), whose wife Sita is abducted by Ravan, the king of Lanka (current day Sri Lanka). The Patravadi Highschool students have created a marvellous musical story full of heritage and rock. Patravadi Mejudhon Her dedication and commitment in the development of Thai performing arts has won her the prestigious “Golden Sithi Tada Award” from HRH Princess Sirindhorn. Her works have been invited to represent Thailand in many international occasions. Her latest project, Vic Hua Hin, is a large scale comprehensive arts complex that houses the Patravadi High School Hua Hin, a school that teaches normal curriculum with a creative approach.
Patravadi Mejudhon, the founder and artistic director of Patravadi Theatre in Bangkok, is an award-wining actress, a playwright-director-producer, a well-respected mentor, and an advocate for cultural policy in Thailand. Trained in Thai classical dance and singing since she was a child, Mejudhon furthered her training in western style of theatre and dance with various schools and masters in England, New York and Canada. Patravadi experiments the fusion of traditional Thai elements with contemporary theatre presentation techniques and creates her signature style contemporary Thai theatre.
Vic Hua Hin is a new institution for arts and culture for the new generation. Patravadi Mejudhon’s vision is to create a comprehensive arts complex where art and culture is learned, shared, enjoyed and exchanged, for Thai and international visitors, students and artists alike. Theatre, gallery, school, accommodation, restaurant… various spaces are designed so as to inspire the combination of ideas and skills in a creative approach.

Durian Fruit THE STINKY OR CHINESE FRUIT. by Dr. George Grossniklaus
T
he durian tree (Durio zibethinus), also called Zibet tree, is a plant in the family of the mallows (Malvaceae).. It is native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Today it is cultivated throughout Southeast Asia and
in many other tropical areas. The durian fruit is often referred to as stink fruit or cheese fruit. The Durian grows as evergreen tree which reaches heights of up to 40 meters. The leaves are arranged alternate, and in two rows on the branches and divided into leaf blade and petiole. The petiole is 1.5 to 3 cm long. The upper leaf surface is shiny and the underside of the leaf is yellow gold or silver and usually densely covered with scales. The 1.5 to 2 cm long stipules fall off early. The unpleasant smelling flowers are hermaphrodite and open for less than 24 hours. The three to five leathery sepals are fused with extended calyx bell-shaped base and four to six calyx lobes. Of 2.25 to 3 cm high calyx is densely covered with scales the outside and inside densely hairy fluffy. The yellow-white petals are spatulate elongated with a length of 3.5 to 5 cm, and bent back at the upper end. There are many fertile stamens present. In four or five bundles of 4 to 18 stamens are together that have grown to a length of one quarter to one half. Three to six carpels are fused into a continuous top three to six chamber ovary. Each ovary chamber contains several ovules. The stylus is penetrated.
The durian fruit is about coconut fruit or about to head size. The fruit skin is light yellow to greenish-yellow or gray-green at maturity and bears many about an inch long, hard, woody spines. The ellipsoidal shape with a length of 15 to 30 cm and a diameter of 13 to 15 cm, loculicidale capsule fruit is divided by relatively thick walls and completely separate from three to five or sometimes six chambers. Each fruit chamber contains up to six seeds from a white to yellowish, thick, meaty, greasy, odorous seed coat (arillus), which is referred to as “flesh”. The consistency of the pulp is comparable with fibrous pudding. The seeds contain endosperm. Taste and smell. The “flesh” is sweet and with an incomparable taste very different from the aromatic (for some repulsive) dependent species, smell. The taste is reminiscent of walnut and vanilla, but with a strong fruity top note and a significant proportion onionish taste. Processing and consumption. There are tastings of different species and provenances, similar to wine tasting. These Durian tastings and Durian feasts in the growing regions, which takes place every year, drawn from Durian lovers of this world designated by some as the “king of fruits” of exotics.

You will find the durian fruit in Europe most likely in Asian shops of cities with large Asian population such as London, otherwise they are very rarely available fresh in Europe, mostly in large delicatesse departments. In Asian shops you find frequently frozen durian segments (seeds with pulp). For consumption one open the whole fruit at the seams and takes the coated seeds from the pulp of the fruit from the individual chambers. For consumption, the pulp is separated from the seed core. The fruits should be intact when you buy them; overripe durian open by itself, of which the taste suffers and what attracts to the extreme, insects. In Singapore, people eating mangosteens after durian, because they are intended to help to digest the durian better. Besides the durian fruit eaten raw they are used to produce jams, cakes, ice cream, fruit juice and curry dishes. The seeds are also cooked in the producing countries, thinly sliced and roasted as a kind of chips. In some places, warnings exist against drinking alcohol with durian, as this will lead to cramping abdominal pain. In the traditional folk medicine, leaves, fruit, bark and roots of Durian are applied by fever and jaundice.

Today selected kinds of Durian are grown in many areas of the tropics, particularly in the Indian subcontinent, Indochina and Malaysia’s. Durian is also found for example in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, but also in the tropical countries of Africa and even in Queensland in Australia. The name of the spiny durian fruit is derived from the Malay word “duri� the sting or thorn. It is often referred to on the basis of their odor as stink fruit.

Inflation or Deflation WHICH IS THE GREATER RISK?
M
ost people understand that a drastic increase in a country’s money supply will produce inflation. This is because if the monetary supply increases
faster than demand, the value of each unit of currency will fall. To put it another way, if the supply of money were to grow faster than the demand for it, the result would be too many dollars chasing too few goods which is the very definition of inflation. Despite the Fed’s massive capital infusion, why is inflation only 1.4%? This is the precise question we will attempt to answer in this article.
This is because if consumers believe prices will rise they will purchase now rather than wait and pay more in the future. Therefore, it can be said that inflation helps keep the wheels of an economy turning. A Government should be very concerned about the rate of inflation. In fact, stable prices is one of their mandates. Although Ministry of Economy should be keeping an eye on inflation, at the present time, they have both eyes fixed on the possibility of deflation as well. Why?
Measuring the Money Supply The U.S. money supply, for example is measured by an M1, M2 and M3 factor. M1 includes all cash, currency, checking and N.O.W. accounts. M2 includes M1 plus time deposits (CD’s), savings deposits and noninstitutional money market funds. Hence, M2 is more broad. M3 includes M2 plus longer term deposits The money supply must keep pace with the increase in the population and the expansion of the economy. If the money supply were to rise too fast inflation can result. Conversely, if the increase in the money supply is not enough, deflation may occur. Therefore, keeping a close eye on the amount of money in the system is crucial.
Inflation Inflation benefits some and hurts others. Let say you borrowed money from your local bank and promised to pay it back over a ten-year period. If inflation were to rise during this term each payment you make to the bank has less purchasing power than it did when you initiated the loan. Hence, inflation is good for the borrower and bad for the lender. A low to moderate amount of inflation is also good for an economy. APPROACH MAGAZINE
Deflation Deflation can be defined as the decrease in the general price level of goods and services. During the Great Depression deflation was present most of the time. Deflation results in an “increase” in the value of a currency, and as a result, it encourages individuals and corporations to “hoard” their money. After all, why spend money now if prices will be lower in the future? During deflationary periods demand falls as individuals and businesses wait for lower prices. This translates into a reduction in corporate profits, a contraction in the labor force, and lower wages. The end result is a further decline in demand. 30

Toyota Aygo The new Toyota Aygo is chasing a new level of customization, like the Peugeot 108 and the Citroen C1 that it shares it platform and mechanicals. WithThe bold face of the Aygo is shows off the brash new hatch that’s chasing a younger audience. Two three-cylinder 1.0-litre engines will be offered at launch, in 68bhp guise, with a fivespeed manual or five-speed auto transmission. Toyota hasn’t release mpg figures, but based on the French cars’ there should be an Aygo that claims better-than 65.7mpg and around 82g/km of CO2.
Volvo Concept Estate The sexiest wagon ever. The glassy tailgate and three-door layout remain from the classic car P1800 GT, but the strong shoulder line is something much fresher – it’s clearly a sister car to the XC Concept 4x4.
Hyundai Intrado This car is made from super-lightweight steel, affixed to a carbonfibre chassis which Hyundai has left exposed to save weight. The Intrado uses a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain, the world’s first series production hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Supplying charge to a lithium-ion battery, the fuel cell powertrain can provide up to 372 miles of range, Hyundai claims and can be refuelled in a matter of minutes – faster even than fast-charge electric cars which slash charging times from several hours down to around 30 minutes.

VW Polo This is the new VW Polo to face-off the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa. The new Polo brings some welcome changes under that barely-changed sheetmetal. LED headlights make their debut in the supermini class on board the new Polo, but they’re only destined for the high-end models. Meanwhile, three-pot 1.0-litre engines from the Up City Car appear in the petrol family and the 1.2-litre diesel makes way for a 1.4-litre with better fuel economy and more torque. Excited yet? No? Okay then. At least the Polo GTI hot hatch has been tickled from 178bhp to 189bhp.
BMW 2 Series The first BMW front wheel drive -five seater MPV. The 218i is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine, borrowed from the new Mini Cooper. Setting Up a Limited Company in Thailand PROCEDURES FOR ESTABLISHING A COMPANY IN THAILAND.
I
Shares and Shareholders- The shares of the Company must be or par value and the amount of a share may not be less than 5 Baht.The shares of the company can be issued only as ordinary or as preferred shares. The preferred shares have special rights attached to them as prescribed in the Articles of association.
n order to set up a limited company in Thailand, the following procedures should be followed: Naming your Company - The name to be reserved must not be the same or close to
that of other companies. Certain names are not allowed and therefore the name reservation guidelines of the Commercial Registration Department in the Ministry of Commerce should be observed. The approved corporate name is valid for 30 days.
If preferred shares have been issued, the preferential rights attributed to such shares cannot thereafter be altered. Shares are transferable without the consent of the Company unless otherwise provided by the Articles of Association of the Company. Both types of shares are transferred by delivery of a certificate. A transfer of shares entered in the name certified must be in writing and executed both by the transferor and the transferee, whose signatures shall be certified by at least one witness. The transferor shall be deemed to remain the holder of the shares until the particulars of the transferee and the shares transferred are recorded in the register of shareholders.
Memorandum of Association A Memorandum of Association to be filed with the Commercial Registration Department must include the name of the company that has been successfully reserved, the province where the company will be located, its business objectives, the capital to be registered, and the names of the promoters. The capital information must include the number of shares and the par value. At the formation step, the authorized capital, although partly paid, must all be issued. The Memorandum registration fee is 50 Baht per 100,000 Baht of registered capital. The minimum fee is 500 Baht, the maximum 25,000 Baht.
A Thai Company is a company in which Thai shareholders hold more than half of all issues shares, this is 51%. Foreigners therefore can hold only 49%. The rights of shareholders are:
Registration of Incorporation of the Company All shares must be subscribed to by shareholders and all promoters must hold at least 1 share. At least 25 % of the value of each share is required to by law to be paid up. The promoters shall then hold a general meeting of all subscribers, which is called the “Statutory Meeting”. Normally the business to be transacted at the Statutory Meeting is as follows:
To receive dividends - To attend and vote at any general Shareholder’s Meeting - To request the summoning of an Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting - To control the transactions of the company
Books and Accounts The Company books and accounts must be kept in the registered office and are to be a true and complete account of the sums received and expended by the Company. The accounts must show the assets and liabilities of the Company and its profit and loss account. The balance sheet and the profit and loss account has to be examined by the Company’s auditor and submitted to the general meeting for consideration. Accounts must be audited once a year and filed with the Revenue Department and Commercial Registration.
Adoption of the Articles of Association of the Company Appointment of the directors and authorized directors - Establishment of Preferred Shares (if any) - Consideration of the number of shares to be allotted as fully or partially paid up other than money and the initial paid up capital for the shares payable in money and Appointment of Auditors and the determination of their consideration Following the Statutory Meeting, the directors shall run the business of the Company. The completion of the incorporation of a Limited Company takes approximately 3 - 4 weeks. Promoters - Thai law requires at least 7 people to be the promoters of the Company and in order to be considered a Thailand Limited Company at least 4 of the promoters must be Thai nationals.
Tax Registration Businesses liable for income tax must obtain a tax I.D. card and number for the company from the Revenue Department within 60 days of incorporation or the start of operations.

Bach composed many works for Lutheran church services. He also wrote longer sacred pieces, such as the Mass in B Minor (1749), for choir, soloists, and orchestra. Married twice, Bach fathered 20 children, 10 of whom survived to adulthood. Several of his sons also became successful composers, including Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Johann Christian Bach. During his lifetime. Bach was known mainly for his skill as a musician. After his death his compositions were mostly forgotten until the early 1800s. Then people began to rediscover his works. WHY IS REINCARNATION SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND?

How can we live in this expanding reality of our conscious and yet be in denial of such a simple concept as reincarnation maybe because it’s viewed from the position of the present incarnation. If viewed from the soul level it’s a totally understandable concept. Many incarnations, unlimited lifetimes.The journey goes on forever. New awareness, from a different viewpoint. A different incarnation a different understanding. Everything is made of energy and energy is always changing.

Reincarnation Why is it so difficult a concept to understand? Because so many people are limited in their belief system. We make it all up anyway. We believe what we want to believe. If you think only with your mind you are going to have a very limited reality. Your perspective of your experiences will be those that fit your reality. Everything is influenced by knowledge. You read a book, absorb the knowledge and expand your consciousness, live in a more expansive universe. So why are we so condescending about the concept of reincarnation? Why are so many people who believe in reincarnation afraid to share their viewpoint? Why are arrogant opinionated narrow minded minds allowed to dominate our opinions into submission, using bully tactics, and ridicule? Only to disempower us. When something is new to our reality, it could threaten our beliefs our safe ego, our comfort zone.

You can guarantee it, everything is in constant change, dying and recreating, transforming in to something new, something different. Be it thoughts or what we call physical change. If you take the viewpoint that you are a soul with a body, or inhabiting a physical form. A physical body with a programmable mind, in an experiment called a lifetime to gather data, then return to the source which is everything. All that is and all that isn’t, way beyond our limited comprehension. The thought of reincarnation is a tiny step to take. Having the belief in reincarnation can make one more responsible . You cannot just have a lifetime and leave your load behind. One knows one has to take responsibility. Be accountable for your actions. It is what you plant you reap. We have many lifetimes so as to help evolve the creation of our reality, our universe and our cosmos forever expanding a journey of our souls design. Our Pets’ Health & Wellness PETS FIRST AID: DO´S AND DON’T´S
C
aring for our Doggies, Cats, Hamsters and Rabbits. You probably have first aid kits in a few different locations. This may be especially true if you have children who just can’t
resist touching that hot stove or picking up that piece of broken glass. Fully stocked first aid kits in the home, car, play area, office and maybe even a mother’s purse or diaper bag can be the difference between a quick patch-up and an hour-long wait at the emergency room. But while you may have these easy-access homemade kits available to tend to a burn, cut or scrape, are you prepared to treat similar ailments when Fido or Fifi are in distress? In many ways, our pets’ needs in an emergency situation are very similar to our own. Yet unlike us, our dogs and cats can’t tell us what the problem is and in some cases our best intentions can only make matters worse. Check out this list of do’s and dont’s when your pets need emergency care. Do have a list of emergency contacts readily available, including your vet, an animal emergency hotline number, poison control center and a nearby animal emergency hospital. Do wash out any wounds with water first and remove any debris with tweezers. Keep sterile gauze over a bleeding wound until you can reach a vet’s office. Don’t use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol on wounds, as these can damage delicate tissues. If the wound doesn’t require medical attention, an herbal ointment such as calendula ointment can prevent infection. Don’t attempt to induce vomiting unless instructed by your vet. Many chemicals can be corrosive and can damage the esophagus. If you suspect your pet swallowed a poisonous substance or object, call poison control or take them to the vet immediately. Don’t attempt to put your hands in a pet’s mouth if they are choking. Calm the animal as best you can and use tweezers to dislodge the object. Do wash an animal’s eyes with a gentle saline rinse in the instance of eye trauma. Don’t attempt to splint an injury alone. In the event of a broken bone, get the animal to the nearest veterinary hospital immediately. While you may have good intentions, improper splinting can do more harm than good.

Don’t attempt to restrain a pet in the event of a seizure. You may inadvertently injure the animal and you can get bitten. Attempt to calm your pet with a gentle voice and only attempt to move them once the seizure is over.
A good Pet First Aid Kit should include:
• A gentle muzzle (remember, even the friendliest of animals may bite if in enough pain) • Gauze • Bandages (not the human kind with tape; pet stores will have bandages that won’t stick to animal hair) • Blunt-end bandage scissors • Saline eye wash • Digital thermometer with lubricating ointment • Tweezers • Arnica and/or epsom salts to ease an injured pet’s muscles • Antibacterial ointment, spray or cream such as calendula ointment or colloidal silver • Chamomile tea or vitamin E cream to apply to dry or itchy spots • Electrolyte beverages such as pedialyte (avoid any product that contains aspirin as this can be fatal to some animals) Remember, always seek veterinary care if your pet seems to be in distress, as they cannot tell us what their symptoms are. A first aid kit can help with a number of pet incidences until they can be properly assessed, and will help Fido and Fifi bounce back into action ASAP.

This reinforces the belief that the market is being driven by Thai nationals, rather than foreigners – a key point, as it ensures that demand and prices will move in a stable way, rather than the fluctuating and erratic way prices would move in a market that is dependent on foreign demand.
hiang Mai’s real estate sector is booming, offering solid prospects for savvy investors. Chiang Mai is usually associated with rolling hills, elephant safaris and tourists
clicking away at the region’s scenic beauty. However, the city itself is currently going through its second real estate growth cycle. For decades, Chiang Mai’s economy has been growing on the back of its status as a hub for tourism, culture and education, with a student population of more than 100,000. The city’s close proximity to Myanmar and China has also aided its economic fortunes. Plans for direct highway and high-speed rail connections linking Myanmar to Chiang Mai have highlighted this. Furthermore, work has begun on a high-speed rail network that will link Chiang Mai and Bangkok directly, with real estate developers planning projects that are situated along its path.
Due to the availability of quality land parcels in and around Chiang Mai, many developers have chosen to develop villa communities rather than condominiums, especially since Thai consumers prefer landed property with a garden of some description, according to research from the real estate consultancy CBRE. There is a total of 740 units coming online by the end of the year in the inner-city area, and a further 1,180 in the outer city. As an investor, it is crucial to look at the number of units in the development and then factor in your investment. For example, if there were 400 units in a development, it would be very difficult at the point of sale to extract or portray any special value in your property against the 399 other properties in the development.
In the past couple of years, construction approvals, as well as the demand for properties, have skyrocketed in Chiang Mai. Thanks to raw land costs that are low compared to Bangkok and coastal areas, a number of prominent Thai developers, such as boutique experts Lucky Living and the multinational Sansiri, have increased their land holdings or announced project plans. The first six months of this year saw more residential units come onto the market than in the previous 17 months combined, but this sudden wave of supply has not dampened prices. Instead, the units that came online have sold for 11-12% more than the market price a year before.
Chiang Mai’s inner-city area has a total of 17 developments in the works, with an average of 128 units per development. These figures show that developers are not flooding the market by any stretch. Inner-city areas worth keeping an eye on are the neighbourhoods of Nimmanhemin, Charoen Prathet and Chang Khlan – all of them close to the centre of old Chiang Mai and leading the market in terms of price appreciation and construction activity.
According to Thai government figures, there is a total of 18,640 units in Chiang Mai. More than 6,000 of them have been launched in the past six months. The market’s ability to absorb this increase in supply while at the same time seeing prices rise is a very positive sign for real estate investors.The market’s strength can also be seen in the take-up rate, which was an impressive 72% for the first six months of this year.

s one of the world’s most economically varied regions, Southeast Asia is home to the entire bell curve of real estate. From incredibly
inexpensive apartments built as much for efficient space usage as comfortable living, all the way up to ultra-luxury designer penthouses, Southeast Asia’s big cities offer every option in real estate. However, given the somewhat restrictive economies of much of Southeast Asia, and the copious government regulations in many countries, acquiring real estate in most Southeast Asian countries can be a difficult process. From nationalistic property law, which is ubiquitous in most Southeast Asian countries, to local corruption and competition issues, buying a home or apartment in Southeast Asia isn’t a simple process.
Buying a Property
In Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and several other Southeast Asian countries, the process of renting an apartment, condo, or house is fairly straightforward.
Buying a condo or apartment, however, can be more complex. In Thailand, retirees and foreign residents are entitled to buy condominiums, but they are not entitled to hold a total of more than 50% of a residential project. This means that most real estate developments in Thailand are split in ownership capacity, with citizens of Thailand owning 51% of the development through unit holdings, and foreigners, the remaining 49 %.
Retirees in Thailand are able to sign the lease on a condominium even on a basic tourist visa, allowing them to reside at the property of their choice according to the lease terms. The situation is similar in Malaysia, where non-residents and tourists can easily rent property. In Singapore it’s the same again – signing a lease for property requires no special visa or residence status.
The housing and property laws of Malaysia and Singapore are more liberal than those of Thailand, and foreign residents will have fewer issues purchasing into a condo project in these countries. However, all regions can present legal issues and new customs for foreign property buyers to deal with, as well as unique market conditions and price points.

REAL ESTATE Purchasing land in Southeast Asia is a touchy subject in many countries. One of the most restrictive, despite having a relatively liberalized property market overall, is Thailand. While foreign investors can own up to 49% of residential condominium developments, it is forbidden for foreign residents to purchase land, or even to hold land on behalf of family members, on Thai soil. Malaysia’s property market is more liberal and open than Thailand’s, with foreign residents able to easily purchase property. However, foreign property investments must be above a minimum value, encouraging foreign investors to only invest in high-end properties in order to avoid disturbing the domestic mid-range market. Singapore is significantly more liberal, allowing foreigners with residency status to purchase almost any property in the small city-state. Given that Singapore is home to some of the highest real estate prices in the developed world, it seems rare for any retirees to the city to purchase large or exceptional properties in any case. The cost of renting or purchasing property differs dramatically from one location to another, even within a single country. For example, a simple yet comfortable home in one of Bangkok’s outer suburbs can be rented for as little as $250USD per month.
A home in the centre of town – even a modest twobedroom townhouse – could cost well over $1,500USD per month due to the more desirable and central location. Singapore’s property market is a similar situation, albeit with the prices of all types of property stretched to truly silly levels. Basic homes in Singapore can cost several thousand USD per month to rent, even on a long-term contract. At the basic level, a small studio or one-bedroom apartment can be found in Singapore for $1,000 USD per month, or even less in lowerend neighbourhoods. From inexpensive country homes to high-end condominiums, Southeast Asia offers a variety of real estate options that’s second to none. However, without the right mentality, what seems like a dream can easily turn into a nightmare. Apply the real estate wisdom outlined in this article and you’ll have no issues finding a great home, condominium, or apartment in a Southeast Asian city

Led by the hotel’s Resident Manager, Diana Moore, ably backed by five of the resort’s staff, the teams successfully completed the grueling Standard Triathlon comprising a testing 1.5-kilometre coastal swim followed by a 40-kilometre cycle ride and 10.8-kilometre run over rugged terrain around the twinned tourist towns of Cha-am and Hua Hin.

Cleaning Up The Beach PATRAVADI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CLEANING THE BEACH.
A
s an example to other schools and children, the Patravadi Elementary school organized a day trip to the beach in Hua Hin. Children removed a lot of garbage from the beach front. Among others , plastic bottles that were not only thrown on the beach by residents , but also a lot of garbage thrown from boats on the Gulf and washed ashore. There are several organizations in Hua Hin that promote keeping Hua Hin and the beaches clean but this action by the school children gave evidence to the fact that not much is done. Keeping our beaches clean does not only promote Hua Hin as a top tourist destination but is also an environmental issue. The same goes for the horsemen who should clean up after the horses, even if they would throw it on the shoreline plants, at least our beaches stay clean. Several organizations have ushered the fact that there are a lot of stray dogs that multiply uncontrollably. Some of them are very ill and can hardly walk , infected with different kinds of diseases. One bite of such a dog can send you to a hospital for a week with dozens of injections to keep you from falling very ill. Schools should follow the example of the Patravadi Elementary school and do cleaning up actions backed by the municipality and controlled by our police force handing out sensitive punishment for litterers.

Basic Biscuit Recipe Challenge Rate: 2/5 Yields 16-20 biscuits (depending on chosen size)
This basic biscuit recipe serves as a dough recipe to add whatever flavouring you choose. The options I have listed are not the only things you can do, so be creative.You may also mix and match ingredients.
Tip: Use organic ingredients, free-range eggs and sea salt where possible as it is tastier, better for our health and the earth. Each ingredient that I have labelled organic has previously been found in Hua Hin as organic. Biodynamic, unsprayed, and chemical-free, are also good choices.
You may use any flour but I recommend spelt as not only is it an extremely healthy ancient grain but super delicious. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1. Preheat oven to 180˚ C. 2. Prepare an oven tray and line with baking paper. 3. Using a large mixing bowl, beat the sugar, eggs and butter together. 4. Add flour, baking powder and sea salt to the mixture and combine well. 5. Combine the option/s of your choice into the dough with a wooden spoon or hands. 6. Using a tablespoon, scoop some dough from the bowl and roll dough between hands until it is a smooth ball. Place on prepared oven tray. Press the ball gently to flatten slightly. Repeat this process until the bowl is empty. 7. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. 8. Allow to cool before eating.

Entertainment Review RIDER by Joyce Chng Rider, Book 1 of the Rider Trilogy (A Novel of Jin), by JOYCE CHNG, Math Paper Press, 2013, paperback, ISBN: 978-981-07-2958-5, RRP: $18.00 SGD, 157 pages. This science-fiction young adult novella is packed in action, intrigue and wonder from the very first page. At Chapter 1 I was captured, by Chapter 5 I had found my footing in the world of Jin, and by the abrupt though fitting ending, I knew I wanted to read the sequel, Speaker. In Rider Lifang dreams of being a Rider and soaring across the skies on the back of a Quetz, similar to the pterosaurs of Terra, the old planet her parents came from. Lifang has a way with plants though, and is sent to the Agri-seers to develop her skills and help bring greenery to an otherwise desert planet. When a wild Quetz is captured and its brother comes after it, Lifang discovers she can speak to the wild one, a skill no human has ever displayed (let alone a Rider) and Lifang must confront her destiny all over again. Besides flying dinosaur-like creatures, Rider offers readers a diverse range of rounded characters in a complex and lively world. Themes carried in this book range from unfulfilled dreams and hope, to sister relationships, acceptance of one’s own body, and sexual orientation. Lifang’s challenges also include self-esteem, composure and attitude – all things that teenagers deal with on Earth. At the core of the story is the ultimate question of trust: trust in self and trust in the ones you love and those who love you. Topics are all brushed upon delicately, with varying degrees of delving into in the allotted space. Singaporean fantasy and science-fiction author Joyce Chng writes incredibly well in English, her second language. There were some fragments that could be adjusted, but overall it was wonderfully written through Lifang’s point of view. Maths Paper Press, the publishers of the Rider Trilogy, have designed a book with quality materials and a beautifully designed layout. Not only is this novella a delightful story, but a keepsake worthy book (with a ‘Tales From Jin: Snippets’ section at the end). Rider is a fantastically fresh read for 14-16 year olds. The Rider Trilogy is available in print from Books Actually (http://booksactually.bigcartel.com/) and from Amazon as an e-book. If purchasing the print copy from Books Actually, you will have to pay for shipping but your product will be wrapped like glass and arrive within a week or two.
Mr. Morgan’s Last Love (2013) Mr Morgan (played by Michael Caine) is an American widower living alone in Paris, France where he is befriended by a young French dance teacher, Pauline (Clémence Poséy) who takes it upon herself to look out for Mr Morgan. Meanwhile, Mr Morgan is battling with the grief of his loss and struggling through his uncomfortable relationship with his two adult children. Mr Morgan’s Last Love is deep and stroked with touches of warmth and humour. The story perfectly captures the image of a stubborn expatriate who refuses to learn the local language, refuses to move on, and refuses to put the past behind him. The themes are about family, of many dynamics, grief, love and life. I recommend this sad and quirky film for adults who don’t mind deep stories without any car chases!
