Embrace curiosity at this art festival Better than ever: Toowoomba Show
I
t’s back and it’s better than ever! That’s right – we’re referring to the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show, a highlight of the Garden City’s regional calendar. Held from Thursday, March 26, to Saturday, March 28, this year’s show will include all the usual fan-favourites, like sideshow alley, livestock and handicraft competitions, and that glorious once-ayear food the kids have been waiting for. However, there will also be some exciting new additions, such as country singer Adam Harvey performing each evening in the main arena alongside bush poetry by the renowned Gary Fogarty, dancing and the Outback Riders. After almost 10 years away, both bull riding and monster trucks will also return each night, and there will be new exhibitions in the shape of Dinkum Dinosaurs and Luke’s Reptile Kingdom. Tickets are available to purchase online now, and once again there are some great prepaid ride deals and bundles for any budget. To grab your entry or find out more, visit toowoombashow.com.au

ast year, Toowoomba welcomed a fun new event in the form of Curious Arts Festival. A raging success means the festival is back for 2020, and will continue to be an annual event each March at the Empire Theatre. This year, the festival is being held from Friday, March 20, to Sunday, March 22, and will allow visitors to dive into the curious. The Garden of Curiosity will be back; the part installation, part pop-up performance, part creative playground will be open from 5pm on the Friday and Saturday with gold coin donation entry. Guests can also get their bush-dancing boots on and move along to The Smashing Bumpkins as they create funky tunes from popular music riffs, or just relax and enjoy at The Oasis with free events. From street performers to short films, contemporary dance to chilled-out music, there’s something for everyone. This is just a taste of what’s to come – there will be many more events on during Curious Arts Festival, for young and old and all those in between. For more information, visit curiousfestival.com.au
