REFLECTIONS By Dr. Jun Vencer

PRAYER: OUR PRIMARY WORK

Prayer is the primary work of God’s people.” Why is prayer primary among Christian duties? S. D. Gordon’s answer is as good as any: “You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed.” Instinctively, people pray when in need or in danger. As the saying goes, “There are no atheists in the trenches.” They open their hearts and communicate in some ways with a greater presence and power. To Christians, their prayers, are addressed to God the Father through Jesus by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:18). Jonathan Edwards said that prayer is the acknowledgment of our dependence upon God. Conversely, prayerlessness is a declaration of independence upon God. We are saying to God that we don’t need His help. Scriptures say, “… far it from me that I sin against God in ceasing to pray for you” (1 Sam. 12:13). Prayer, as Philip Yancy pointed, is one of the imponderables of the faith. A.W. Tozer once said, that the heart has its language that the mind cannot understand. Our fundamental assumption is that God is sovereign and nothing escapes His notice or beyond His control in creation. What good, then, is prayer in a predetermined world? Since God already knows before we ask (Matt. 6:8), then why pray? And since God is good, will not His goodness cause Him to give without being asked? This being the case, is not the sovereignty of God a demotivation to prayer? A common question is asked: Will prayer change the mind of God? The answer is NO. God said, “I do not change” (Mal. 3:6). He is immutable in His attribute. Yet at the same time the answer is YES. He said “My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused” (Hos. 11:8). Jonah said that God is “a God who relents from sending calamity” (4:3) and so He did not destroy Nineveh as He threatened. Or consider Abraham who pleaded with God not to judge Sodom and Gomorrah if there were at least 10 righteous

ulit for assessment na doon. Sasabihin na nila sa akin if I’m allowed to run na, if I’m allowed to wear heels, parang ganun. Parang yung mga routine na ginagawa ko like hiking, running, biking, ganyan so baka puwede ko na siyang magawa,” she shared. The new Smart Padala endorser was known as one of the most outgoing celebrities who would regularly update her fans about her travels on social media. “Actually sobrang bored ako ngayon. Sa totoo lang sobrang bored ako ngayon kasi I miss my old routine. But thanks to my PTtinutulungan naman niya ako ng konti sa swimming at konting exercise but siguro dahil nasanay ako sa mas intense, na-mi-miss kong gawin.

people there and God agreed (Gen. 18:32). Or Moses who pleaded that God changed His mind not to destroy the Israelites at Mt. Horeb and God did not (Gen. 31-32). In these threats of judgments, we often ignore the small letters of His terms, i.e., the implicit conditions that refer to His long-suffering and His commitment to change if people repent of their sins and turn towards Him. This changing of will is also His will. God recognizes the dignity of causation. If you seek, you will find; if you knock it will be opened (Lk. 11:9). Another instance of God changing His mind is in the case of King Hezekiah, the 13th king of Judah. God told Hezekiah through the prophet Isaiah that the king should put in order his household for he is going to die. The king prayed to God pleading for an extension of life and God gave the king 15 more years to live (1 Kg. 20:1-11). We cannot resolve this theological difficulty by human reason alone. No one can change God or what He wills to do. Obviously, He is not a whimsical or an arbitrary God for His actions are never contrary to His nature as love and holy and as good and just. Yet, though sovereign, God respects human will. Without this will, this freedom to choose, it is not possible to fulfill the commandment to love God and our neighbors. It is a paradox that only His omniscience can ultimately resolve to achieve the highest possible good for His people. So why pray? Because God commands His people to pray for their own good and for His glory. God wills that through prayers He will provide for their needs. He did not commit to give our “wants” list. God will meet our necessities not our niceties in life. In fact, if God answers all our prayers then our world will be in a greater mess. Yet He also promises, “… seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things (even things beyond your needs) will be given to you as well” (Matt. 6:33). Consider His assurance, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father” (Jn. 14:13,14). So let us pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17). “You do not have because you do not ask” (Jas. 4:2). Amen. Dr.Agustin (Jun) Vencer, Jr. (LLB, DD, DLitt, PHD Applied Theology) is the President of Global Transformational Ministries and Pastor of the Alliance International Church of Pearland in Texas, USA. He is married to Annabella Castillo Vencer. They have four children and six grandchildren. His biography is Poor Is No Excuse, written by John Allan and originally published by Pater Noster in England. ibig sabihin I’m okay na,” she added. Because of her injury, Angel admitted it was really hard for her to turn down the role of Pinoy superhero Darna earlier this year. But she hopes to still be considered for the role when she returns from Singapore. “Sobrang hirap sagutin (yung tungkol sa Darna project) kung paanobecause like open naman ako kung gaano ko ka-gusto yung project talaga, kung gaano ko kamahal yung proyekto. But ang hirap kasi. After nung interview ko, triny ko muna siya talaga kalimutan kasi sobrang nadepress talaga ako at that time.

“Kaya siguro may history kami, kasi we liked each other, I’ve had so many surreal moments sa journey na ito. Naalala ko before na bumili pa ako ng notebook na siya ang cover at pina frame ko pa yun. Step by step yan, we are just having fun. ‘Wag na bigyan ng pressure. Ako kapag nandyan siya sobra saya ko yun naman importante,” kwento ni Gerald. Sa tanong naman kung nag-date

na sila sa muli nilang pagkikita, naging honest si Gerald sa kanyang sagot. “Nagchill, hang out lang kami.” “Kasama noon sina Enchong. Paulo and I are friends talaga since Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, mga two years na kami magkaibigan. Siguro sahil nga single kami nabibigyan ng kulay,” giit ni Bea. Nilinaw din ni Bea na hindi nanliligaw sa kanya si Paolo Avelino. Ipapalabas na ang How to be Yours sa last week ng July.

Breakout Box Office trio engage overseas Filipinos to experience “The Achy Breaky Hearts” via TFC@theMovies; make the call to fight piracy First team-up of Ian Veneracion, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap, all set to screen in Europe and Middle East this July via TFC@theMovies

L

ondon, United Kingdom - As Filipinos in Europe and the Middle East eagerly await the TFC@theMovies screening of Star Cinema’s latest blockbuster hit “The Achy Breaky Hearts,” the all-star cast and the award-winning director Antoinette Jadaone personally sought the support of kababayans at the recent threeway, virtual press conference of TFC in Manila, Europe and Middle East, to experience the much-awaited kilig fest on the big screen starting July 9 in United Kingdom (UK), July 10 in France and Italy; and July 14 in the Middle East. During the online press conference of the “The Achy Breaky Hearts” last week via emea.kapamilya.com, lead stars Richard Yap, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Ian Veneracion and Jadaone, described as a “hugot” director (because of the memorable lines in her films that are drawn or pulled out from real life experiences), treated members of the Filipino community, media and now including the fans clubs, to a lovefest where

the four icons shared their mutual admiration for each other’s performances which the audience can look forward to. Award-winning director Jadaone shared an interesting anecdote about how she herself shed tears over a scene because of how effectively Sta. Maria performed. In that scene, Sta. Maria as her character Chinggay, tried to pacify herself after a heartache by playing happy melodies but in the end, could no longer contain herself. Jadaone kidded Sta. Maria during the press con: “Pagpasok ko sa loob (set), hindi na ako umiiyak kasi baka isipin niya na

masyado siyang magaling. Ang galing ni Jodi. Ang galing niyang artista.” (When I entered the set, I wiped off my tears because it might become obvious that I was affected by Jodi’s great performance and she might think she was a great artist). Veneracion on the other hand, said he was thrilled by the loveteam created out of his and Sta. Maria’s team-up first in “Pangako Sa `Yo and then in “Achy Breaky Hearts,” especially their interplay in the scenes. “Ako, kami ni Jodi noong ginagawa namin ‘yung eksena, natutuwa Page 23 pls.

e all hail the new queen of sexy. Jessy Mendiola!

And of course herald those who came too close to winning the crown: adorable darling Nadine Lustre, last year’s winner Jennylyn Mercado, and the sexy royalty frequently named in previous lists, Angel Locsin. But, hold the presses! It seems we see a noticeable trend among these sexy heavyweights, particularly the bombshells Jessy, Jennylyn, and Angel. A good question is, what do Jessy, Jennylyn and Angel have in common other than having been crowned FHM’s Sexiest? It has nothing to do with style, or their laudable careers, or even their luscious sexiness. It has something to do with one man they all held dear at one point in

Angel, Jennylyn and now Jessy? Luis seems to be the Sexiest’s pick by: Gerry Plaza their lives. Is it just a coincidence? Or is this man, one prominent and celebrated TV host and actor, is simply on the prowl for the country’s sexiest and beat all the ogling magazine readers to the draw? Or is he just that irresistible to the sexiest? Well, Luis Manzano should have all the qualities they want in a man as he holds the distinction of having been in relationships with most of the FHM sexiest—Jennylyn was crazy for him, Angel

fell for his charms not once but twice, and is now widely reported as having taken Jessy’s unbridled attention as well.

How does he do it? It could be his affable stance, his humor, his charm, intelligence maybe, seen in his mastery of the spoken word, or that awkward jigger when gets that implausible vibe. Whatever it is, Luis remains that dreamboat of the sexiest. And of course, he surely won’t tell how.

Ani Anne excited siya dahil, “hindi ko pa siya ginagawa and it’s actually always been something that I’ve wanted to do.” When they showed me the proper way of holding a gun, natulog ako na hawak ko siyang ganito para masanay ako sa paghawak.” Ayaw rin ni Anne ng doubles. “No to doubles that’s why I’m putting in so much effort, kaya inaaral ko as much as I can. Kahit pasapasa na okay lang.” Kaba at excitement naman ang nararamdaman ni Brandon. “It’s my first project you know. I get to co-star in an amazing movie directed by Mr. Erik Matti and… the lead is Anne Curtis. I have some big shoes to fill mahirap ‘to but kaya ko.”

It is what it is what you see is what you get.” Can she say that their ‘hang out sessions’ means they are actually “dating?” “I don’t want to label it as anything kasi sometimes we go out in groups eh nagkakataon lang kami napi-picturan kasi kami ‘yun public figures pero we go out

sometimes. Yeah you could say that we go out and we are friends and we are getting close to each other but you know he knows I have a lot of things to do right now and he knows I am enjoying my life as it is.” According to Jessy she is focused now on her career and her love life might take the backseat.”Ang daming opportunities na dumarating na parang I don’t want to be derailed about it.” But does Luis have a chance if ever the actor decides to court her? “Ay oo naman. I am not denying anything. Ayoko namang maging sobrang pretentious na wala kasi I have as said Luis is a nice guy and any girl would be lucky to have him.” ARTISTA WINNIPEG JUly 2016 ISSUE

Ryan Agoncillo on being a father of three: ‘Iba na yung experience talaga’

A

t 37 years old, Ryan Agoncillo admitted that juggling his busy lifestyle as a daily noontime TV host, father, husband, and triathlete has become a challenge. “In my mid-20s, they started putting me on different vitamins already para lumakas and I’ve been a triathlete for the past three years. And when you train as a triathlete, you’re prone to many imbalances. Not just muscular imbalances but nerve imbalance. So for optimum performance they needed to put me on on vitamin B1, 6 and 12. So eksaktoI’ve been taking Neurobion for a long time na pala,” he shares at the Neurobion Helping True Heroes presscon held last June 27 in Serendra, Taguig city. An avid motorcyclist, Ryan said he wants to keep himself safe and healthy for the sake of his kids. “I’m sure naramdaman niyo na rin yung after a long day sa saddle ng motorsiklo, because I commute to work on a motorcycle. Alam mo yung the tingling sensations on the sides of your palm and your feet? That’s the start. It’s a nerve thing. Kaya ako nag-te-take ng supplement kasiyou don’t want that excuse para hindi mo makasama yung mga anak

mo. So as healthy as you can be sa muscles and bones even the nerves you got to take care of first,” he said. Despite his nerve issues, Ryan says it has not discouraged him from going for long drives on his motorcycle. “No, not at all. Even when I drive my cab in Cash Cab it does that too. Kahit magmaneho pa ako whole day on a road trip it happens also. That’s the most common times ko na nararamdaman. I guess anything you do that exposes you to an activity for a prolonged time, you’re bound to experience some of the symptoms. I’m a little older now but not that old but it’s been a long time that I’ve been experiencing these symptoms,” he added. With his wife Judy Ann Santos giving birth to their third child Luna last January, Ryan revealed how parenthood is different for them now. “Iba na yung experience talaga kasi when Yohan was growing up, we were such a young couple and siya yung unang napag-practice-san (laughs) so by the time Lucho came around it was a different experience and now again with Luna iba na naman. It also helps that we’re a lot older, a lot more mature. We don’t

half day of work and then I can do more work after or more work before. But also on days when I choose to spend more time with my kids, my schedule now affords me to really be a father. I wake up at the break of dawn and then I try as much as possible to be home by sunset. I’m happy that our kids grew up knowing that they could expect us at the dinner table or the next day they could talk to us at the breakfast table, ganun lang. So yun yung mga adjustments namin as parents. With Luna the adjustments continue as we go along,” he said.

get easily surprised as when Yohan was growing up. It also helps that Lucho and Yohan are ready to be ate and kuya so we can concentrate on raising our bunso very well,” he explained. Being seen daily on TV is also not a problem for Ryan when it comes to spending time with his family. “Since we got married, ako siyempre gusto ko to provide for my family. But it was also a conscious effort na hindi naman limitahan pero piliin ba yung sitwasyon o yung mga trabaho na papasukan ko. When I got married, the same year I joined Eat Bulaga because they presented to me a very favorable schedule. Monday to Saturday it’s basically just

iray Celis is headlining the comedy-horror movie I Love You To Death with Enchong Dee. The actress said that her new movie has made her push her acting skills even more. She added that her new film is different from her previous ones. “This time sa I Love You To Death parang lahat nagawa ko. Makikita niyo ako first time umiyak na hindi niyo nakita sa Love is Blind (previous movie), na seryosong umiyak talaga, hindi kayo matatawa sa akin; na matatakot at first time kong magpakilig. Iba pala ‘yun. Kaya sabi ko first ko ring feeling ko may ka-love team ako dahil very sweet ako sa movie na ‘to. This time ibang iba siya,” she said. How does she feel that she is now an in demand “leading lady” in movies. “Totoo

ba? Hindi pwedeng naka-work lang? Wala… baka lumaki ulo ko so hindi kp pinapasok sa isip ko, iniisip ko lang puro work, work para ganon,” she stated. Who does she want to work with in the future if given the opportunity? “Sam Milby kasi since Goin’ Bulilit siya talaga ‘yung crush ko, seven pa ako,” she shared. Kiray was also asked

whether or not she is now ready to engage in a relationship. She responded, “Wala akong panahon mas gusto kong magtrabaho pa. Oo naman pero hindi ako interesado pa. Hindi ko type, hindi ko trip. Mas priority ko po ‘yung family ko kahit seryoso [yung nanliligaw] hayaan mo muna sila, pera-pera muna bago love life.” When does she think is the right time? “Kapag mayaman na ako,” she quipped.

Gerald Anderson takes pride in being a Lieutenant by: Maureen Marie Belmonte

G

erald Anderson finally fulfilled his lifelong dream of being part of the military when he was inducted by the Philippine Coast Guard as a squadron lieutenant on Monday afternoon, July 4. Aside from Gerald, his father Gerald Anderson Sr. and brother Ken Anderson were also inducted as a captain and a lieutenant, respectively. The How To Be Yours actors’ newly-established Gerald Anderson Foundation signed a partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard to support the K-9 Search and Rescue units in the country. “Medyo malaking responsibility pero we’re happy kasi it’s a good partnership na nagtutulungan kami,” Gerald said in an exclusive interview with Push.com. ph. Gerald’s foundation currently has five trained dogs, which according to him will be included in the Coast Guard’s 16 teams of dogs to be used for future emergencies. “Sa Japan, they have 250 teams and we have 16 for the whole Philippines. So kapag may nangyaring mas malaki and with just 16 teams so parang wow,” blurted Gerald. “Ang kinakatakutan natin ngayon eh ang The Big One. Di ba nag-shake drill tayo? So what if that happens ‘di ba?” The actor underscored that great improvements have already happened to his foundation ever since he launched it last March. For starters, several donations have been made for their dogs including a lot in Subic where they were able to put up a kennel. Their dogs also graduated from a water search and rescue training two months ago. Then there was the Philippine Coast Guard tapping them

to be part of the K-9 search and rescue team of the country. According to Gerald, they are far from stopping as they are also set to open the first-ever pet hospital inside the Philippine Coast Guard base in Taguig this Friday. “I’m throwing all my energy into something positive. It inspires me to live and to work,” said Gerald about his relatively new endeavor. “We’re very thankful, sobrang surreal rin ng experience ko kanina kasi pangarap ko talaga pumasok sa military. Parang kanina natupad ang pangarap na ‘yun. Nakakatuwa,” he added. The goal, Gerald said, is to increase the number of K-9 units to at least 30 or 50 before the year ends. Aside from that, his organization will also be teaming up with the Coast Guard in

mounting environmental awareness events involving the youth. What does being a lieutenant mean? “Ako ang in charge sa search and deployment at sa lahat ng equipment. Practically lahat because this is my baby eh so malaki ang responsibility because they look up to me for leadership,” he explained. Gerald pointed out that he is taking part in the organization as a volunteer and not merely as a celebrity. “Medyo madugo siya pero ang foundation parang may pamilya ka eh. Na everyday may bagong nangyari. But just like a family may purpose eh and fulfillment and kahit pagod kana,” he ended.

Let’s support the local movie industry by reporting illegal links of the film.” Yap via his Instagram account @ imrichardyap08, added “Help us stop piracy. Stop the spread or please report or email links to report@abs-cbn.com. Maraming salamat for your support.” Veneracion explained in his Instagram account @ianveneracion1 that if the piracy continues, the effects can be longterm not just for them but for the entire in-

Meantime to further address the issue, Elisha Lawrence, Head of Global Anti-Piracy for ABS-CBN, is currently working with tech investigators and Facebook to identify the source of the leakage of the movie and when uncovered, plans to have them arrested and criminally prosecuted, like the other pirates she has uncov-

ered over the last three years. To end, Jadaone thanked TFC@ theMovies and Star Cinema for bringing the movie overseas but left a strong message on her social media account: “Tama pa rin pala. Pilipino ang papatay sa kapwa Pilipino. Tayo ang pumapatay sa sarili nating industriya. Napakahusay natin humingi ng pagbabago e mga sarili natin, di natin mabago.” (It is true. Andi Eigenmann still refuses to name new love interest by: Maureen Marie Belmonte

ndi Eigenmann is set to return to TV soon enough.

Andi is one of the stars that are part of the upcoming soap The Greatest Love, whose teaser was released a few days ago. Joining Andi on the drama are Dimples Romana, Matt Evans, Arron Villaflor and seasoned star Sylvia Sanchez. The young actress’ soap is her much-awaited TV comeback after two years of not appearing in a teleserye. It may be recalled that Andi was last seen on the 2014 fantaserye Dyesebel as the

antagonist Betty Reyes together with Anne Curtis. She revealed to ABS-CBN News that the soap is set to become an afternoon soap, which talks “about a mother’s love for her children and vice versa.” “I’m going to be mabait this time,” she joked. She added, “Sobrang good girl iyon character ko which is a new challenge for me and I’m really excited to hone my craft.” Despite her revelations, Andi did not disclose when their soap is airing.

K

ristine Hermosa, one of the industry’s best dramatic actresses, is making a TV comeback after taking time off to attend to her growing family. But this time, Kristine finds herself doing comedy as she joins the wacky cast of GMA Network’s newest sitcom, Hay, Bahay!, topbilled by Philippine showbiz’ biggest names in comedy Vic Sotto and Ai Ai delas Alas. She confesses that aside from her yearning to become a hands-on mom, she has always wanted to do a comedy show. “Napagod na ako. Taon-taon dati na parang in a year, nakakailang drama ako. Sa movie, drama rin. Na-burn out na rin siguro. Isa pa, if I do drama again, pag-uwi ko sa bahay, ano pang lakas ang mabibigay ko sa mga anak ko? Gusto ko talaga na hands-on pa rin ako sa mga bata kahit na I have work e. Tsaka gusto ko naman na talaga mag-comedy since then e. Kahit nung nagda-drama pa lang ako [I got tired. Before, I would do so many dramas series in a year. In movies, it would also be a drama. I guess I got burnt out. Another reason is, if I do drama again, when I get home, what other strength would I be able to give for my kids? I really want to be hands-on with them even if I have work. And I’ve always wanted to do comedy ever since. Even when I was still doing dramas],” shares Kristine, who is currently pregnant with her fourth child. In order to support the cost of the necessary renovations, they decide to rent out the two extra rooms. rong na-pick up. I think my experiences in the past would be a great help. I think that’s one of the inspirations that could guide me,” kuwento pa niya. “I think you really have to stick up kung sino ang gusto mong pakasalan. So I chose to go who I wanted to marry. “Of course, there’s pressure on doing this kasi ako ang maging sentro ng character ng movie. Gusto ko rin naman kasing magtuluy-tuloy

ang success ng franchise ng Mano Po. There’s a little pressure so I will just do my best and hope that God will take care of the rest,” katwiran niya. Baka ma-affect ‘yung movie. I will just do my best and tingnan natin kung ano ang magiging come out nito. ‘Wag muna nating isipin ‘yon,” sagot ng actor. Nang tanungin naming kung ano ang nag-convince sa kanya para pumirma sa Regal at tanggapin ang Mano Po 7, ang sabi niya, “I think it’s a combination of everything. Regal Films naman ‘yan. Pioneer in this movie industry. I think it’s also a good story for me.”

I think we need to do a lot of things. Hindi puwedeng mag-stick lang tayo sa rom-com. Magsasawa rin ang mga tao if you keep on doing the same thing over and over again! You have to show your versatility also. “I think mas may… I have more experience now. Puwede na nating subukan. Hindi na ako ganoon kakaba as compared to dati! May highs and lows naman ang buhay ko,” sabi pa ni Richard, Sa China magsusyuting ang cast ng Mano Po 7 at makakasama rin sa pelikula sina Jean Garcia at Janella Salvador.

It’s a boy for Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano

O

n Tonight with Boy Abunda, the director of the upcoming film Dukot Paul Soriano talked about how life is with pregnant wife Toni Gonzaga. “She’s always looking for me. It’s me that she craves, I guess. Whenever I go out, she always wants me to come back home. Or if she’s out somewhere, she always wants me to meet her—but it’s good! It’s a good thing. I like that. Better than me going away, right?”

The father-to-be added, “She bites; the arm especially. I don’t know, she just gets really gigil at times and she just likes to bite my arms. I let her do it even if it hurts. I have no choice—she’s pregnant. She’s the boss right now.” The couple celebrated their first year anniversary as husband and wife last June 12. Paul shared, “Well June 12, on our anniversary, we just had a simple dinner at home and she cooked. She loves to cook now. We had

our families over. And a week after that we went to Hawaii. “It’s one of my favorite places. It’s my third time to be there already, and I shared an experience with her last November in Hawaii. We went for a film festival. This time we went with our parents and my crazy sister-in-law, Alex, and of course Mommy Pinty and Daddy Bonoy. It was fun! It was a good bonding time we were all in one hotel room so we really got to know each other. And they got to know me even more because they’ve been a family to me for a long time.” Toni, who later joined her husband in his interview, is due to give birth, “end of September, first week of October, somewhere there.” Together they ended the speculation as to their unborn child’s gender. “We’re having a boy, it’s a boy! It’s going to be a mini Paul.” “She wanted a boy,” Paul said after declaring the baby’s gender. “I just wanted girl or boy [for the baby to be] healthy.” On their baby’s name, the director said, “We’re working on it. We’re debating now on names – well of course, one is Paul.” Meanwhile Toni added, “hindi ko pa masabi talaga kung ano yungfinal kasi it still changes everyday. Basta it’s a boy.” ARTISTA WINNIPEG JUly 2016 ISSUE

Daniel Padilla as Lastikman?

een King Daniel Padilla has already tried various roles throughout his showbiz career but he never had a superhero role yet. Director Frasco Mortiz shared with ABS-CBN News that he was eyeing Daniel to playLastikman, a fictional hero created by Mars Ravelo. “Kung papayag si DJ na magsuperhero, why not? Pinu-pushko kasi siya nung una, Lastikman siya eh. Hindi ko lang alam kung papayag siya ngayon. Pero feeling ko naman depende sa concept,” he said. After Princess and I in 2013, director Frasco was supposed to pitch the story to ABS-CBN’s TV production. “Nung time na ‘yon teen na teen pa siya. Eh ngayon nag-iba na, nagmature na siya. Gagawa siya ng movie with Inang (Olive Lamasan) so mag-iiba ang landscape, mag-iiba ang kuwento. Sohindi ko lang alam kung pwede pa din ‘yung ganoong kuwento na medyo maloko,” he shared. According to him, of all Mars Ravelo superheroes, Lastikman’s story is the only one that can be distorted a little. Now that Daniel has matured a lot, the director is not sure if he’d accept the offer. “Hindi ko alam, matagal na kasi ‘yon. Hindi ko lang din alam kung game

pa din siya if ever na io-offer sa kanya. Siguro depende sa offer. Alam mo naman si DJ kung feeling niya bagay sa kanya ay gagawin niya ‘yon. Siyempre iniingatan niya din ang image niya.” Daniel has been working on a movie with Kathryn Bernardo that is directed by Olivia M. Lamasan and partly shot in Spain.
