Letter from the LTG Hello Division 19 South!!! First off I'd like to start with L-O-V-E I LOVE MY DIV!!! Thank you all for making this year's Fall Rally one of the best that we've ever been to. Never have I been more proud to serve such a beautiful and passionate Division. Although we weren't able to take home the spirit stick, you can all hold your head up high because we truly brought the heat. I hope that you made wonderful memories at Fall Rally and that it motivates you to strive more to serve the community! I'll be looking forward to seeing you all very soon! Sincerely, Papa Bun Chris Kao Lieutenant Governer

Editor's Message What's hopping D19S?! I hope you all have had a wonderful month! First things first, we recently had Fall Rally South 2017! Fall Rally is one of the biggest, most anticipated events of every term, and this year did not disappoint. We had roughly 370 beastie bunnies attend, and our division made it to the semi finals at the Spirit session! It was amazing to see so many key clubbers from all around the district gather at Six Flags and celebrate the amount we as Key Club funded for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Thank you to all who came out and supported, and let's continue to work towards our goals for PTP, club, fundraising, and service hours! It's already November, oh how time flies by! Please continue to BEE pro-active with your studies, extracurriculars, and especially service! HOP to see you around, beastie bunnies!

Torrance Community On October 15, Division 19 South participated in the annual AIDS Walk in Los Angeles. Being one of the biggest events of the year, many Key Clubbers attended the walk to show their support into the fight against HIV and AIDS. The walk was a 5-mile walk that went around the entire area of Downtown Los Angeles. Division 19 North also came out to the walk to join their sister division, 19 South. The walk started at 9:45am and ended around 2:00pm. The event was raised over $1.4 and was supported not only by Key Club, but also other foundations and programs that joined hand in hand to find a cure and fight against HIV and AIDs. - Andrew LoretoHistorian 10

“Attending AIDS Walk really amazed me on how many people joined together to help fight against HIV and AIDS." - Andrew Loreto 11

This month, Narbonne Key Club participated in an alley cleanup alongside Kiwins and the Habor City Neighborhood Council from 8 am to 12 pm near Panda Express. When they arrived, volunteers were provided with free coffee, donuts, and water. Afterwards, the volunteers were split into two groups to clean up three different alleys in two different areas. Each volunteer being given supplies such as brooms, gloves, trash bags, and giant shovels. The first group of volunteers cleaned up the long alley behind Panda Express. The second group of volunteers were driven by a member of the council to a nearby an area to clean two smaller alleys with Kiwins, taking approximately 3 hours. After the second group of volunteers finished cleaning, we decided to walk around the alley and we found this stray bulldog named Suzy, who we bet before we returned back to Panda Express. - Aliya Llanes Historian 13

HTPA KC

Harbor Teacher Prep KC has focused on fundraising this month. HTPA KC held two fundraisers: one at Yogurtland, and another involving selling Jamba Juice cards. Both fundraisers were successful, but the Jamba Juice fundraiser truly produced amazing results. The idea was to sell $10 Jamba Juice cards that would give the owner a buy one- get one bogo for 5 drinks. Under the jurisdiction of fundraising committee members Kenneth Dayrit and Arianna Aredondo, the cards made over $100! The huge effort Kenneth and Arianna, members for only one and a half years, put into the project did not go unnoticed, as Kenneth also won member of the month at the division's latest DCM! The fundraising scheme, in fact, accounted for “Nearly 20% of the D19S money contributed,” as said by HTPA Sergeant of Arms, and D19S Executive Assistant, Anne Tsai. Overall, it was a good month not only for HTPA fundraising, but for HTPA service-- with the current club hours, as of now, reaching double of what we’ve had in previous years! - Stephanie Castaneda Historian 15

Mira Costa key club had their own booth at the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair this month. We raised a lot of money, and it was great exposure for the club. It attracted Mira Costa students and there was an increase in members! Next was AIDS Walk in Downtown LA. Even though three Mira Costa members participated, they were able to experience the magic of the key club family as they walked through the streets of LA. Members were able to interact with kids and celebrate the Halloween festivities. Members such as David Ko, Taro Iyadomi, and Trace St. Bernard participated in the Key Club fun, constantly expressing their interest to improve the community and the club. This is only the beginning of the club’s growth. - Jennifer Swartz President 16

This month on October 24, North High Key Club volunteered on making candy goody bags for kids at the Torrance Memorial after school from 3-4 pm. Members worked to decorate the bags for the children that are sick and won’t be going Trick-or-Treating this year. One of our Board Lucy Duong, Communications says, “It’s always a nice feeling to have knowing the fact that you are able to make someone’s day. I and many others just simply packed candy, but we did it for the children at the hospital.” We believe that this event helped our members to be kind and think about their community. We definitely agree to participate in this event again to show that we care for the kids in the hospitals. - Erica Yanagida and Celina Tiqui Historians 19

"Fall Rally is an experience that you cannot experience anywhere else. Even though you meet strangers from different areas and places, you're all there for Key Club and the entire organization is one big family. The cheers and chants you yell echoes for one. I'm so glad to go to my second year. Reliving the memories were so fulfilling and so fun!" - Ashley Liang, PV Pen Historian

"Out of the two other Fall Rallys that I've been to in my Key Club life time I can say that Fall Rally 2017 has been my best. It was an amazing honor to serve the Division of 19 South and represent the Beastie Bunnies on stage. Though we did not bring back the spirit stick, hold your heads up high because 19 South would've made it into the top 3 had we more time. I hope you all make some amazing memories and that this inspires the key club passion deep in you as it did for me 2 years ago. Thank you everyone and I'll hop to see you soon!" - Chris Kao, Lieutenant Governer
