LETTER FROM THE GO TEAM OFFICE

A

utumn is an amazing time of year, with the cold air while you’re on the field playing your heart out and making sure that you don’t leave anything out on the field – like a shoe, or egad – something worse... Especially you seniors, for a lot of you this season will be your last. Casey McCoy Make the best of it; if it’s your senior year Promotions Coordinator get involved with everything. I suggest cheerleading for the guys. It’s a great experience and it’s a great thing to do to amp up school spirit. When I was a cheerleader at Bosse we had a blast during basketball season; it was always a bunch of us who played football together and didn’t play basketball but wanted to do something during the winter. Make sure you go camping this fall – it is the best time to go and enjoy the scenery before the winter comes and you are cooped up inside. Here at Go Team we are working hard on improving the website and photo purchasing experience for you. We are not only updating www.GoTeamMagazine.com but we are also updating the online photo store to make your search for all of our photos from the past two years easier. We’re still getting the kinks worked out but in the end it will be an awesome experience for you. We will be introducing some

picture packages and some other great picture gifts for the Holidays. Holiday cards will be available this year less than fifty cents per card and it includes free envelopes to send a card to all of your friends and family with your star athlete on them. With that said, no matter how many pictures you see in the magazine make sure you check out www. GoTeamMagazine.com for thousands and thousands more photos than we have space for in the magazine you hold in your (maybe by now) gloved hands. That awesome chill in the air does come with some apparel-related consequences, after all!

What do you do mentally and physically to prepare for a game or competitions? I stretch out and go over my game plan.

Core Value of the Month: INDIVIDUALITY INDIVIDUALITY:

Discovering who you are meant to be so you can make a difference. Why is individuality important? Because individuality builds confidence. A child who is encouraged in his or her efforts will confidently explore and learn to use his or her talents. Individuality emphasizes a child’s uniqueness. By realizing how they are special, children are able to accept others as individuals. Individuality develops the foundation of healthy self-esteem. We can encourage children by giving praise for successes, and gently instructing when failures come.

same mold. There are no carbon copies, no clones, no duplicates. Allow discovery. The process of recognizing one’s individuality thrives when we are permitted to work through situations or problems. Children need to see why they succeed or fail. Personalizing that knowledge is the key to their realization of individuality. Kids need freedom to fail as well as freedom to succeed in order to best discover who they are meant to be.

HERE ARE THREE WAYS YOU GIVE YOUR CHILD THE CHANCE TO DISCOVER THEIR INDIVIDUALITY.

Speak words that encourage. Learning what makes us an individual involves many emotional ups and downs. Knowing a child’s temperament will help you choose what kind of guidance to give. Praise can be given simply for their effort. You may give an explanation of why you believe they failed. Failure doesn’t have to mean defeat. Giving encouraging insight will help your child discover how his or her approach to a problem can be improved.

Acknowledge each child’s uniqueness. Part of the joy and wonder of watching each child develop into an individual is to observe how he or she meets daily challenges. It requires a deliberate exploration of their physical talents and personality traits. We don’t want to force every child into the
