Es war nicht vorgesehen, dass das Atomium nach der Weltausstellung 1958 fortbestehen sollte, aber die Popularität und der Erfolg ließen es bald zu einem wichtigen Bestandteil der Brüsseler und später auch der internationalen Landschaft werden.

Die Eintrittskarte gibt Ihnen die Möglichkeit fünf zugängliche Kugeln, mit insgesamt acht Niveaus, zu besichtigen. In der ersten Kugel, auf zwei Ebenen, befindet sich eine permanente Ausstellung die der Expo 58 gewidmet ist (1. und 2. Niveau). Auf drei weitere Ebenen befinden sich zeitweilige Austellungen mit verschiedene Themen (3., 4. und 5. Niveau) Die oberste Kugel bietet eine wunderschöne Aussicht von der Stadt Brüssel und Umgebung. Bei schönem Wetter trägt die Sicht bis Antwerpen.

Each ticket gives you access to the entire visitors track. This consists of 8 levels divided over 5 spheres.
A seminal totem in the Brussels skyline; neither tower, nor pyramid, a little bit cubic, a little bit spherical, half-way between sculpture and architecture, a relic of the past with a determinedly futuristic look, museum and exhibition centre; the Atomium is, at once, an object, a place, a space, a Utopia and the only symbol of its kind in the world, which eludes any kind of classification.
You can visit a permanent exhibition, dedicated to Expo 58 (levels 1 & 2). 3 other levels are reserved for temporary exhibitions with different themes (levels 3, 4 & 5). The upper sphere offers spectacular views of the city of Brussels. When the sky is clear, the view reaches till Antwerp.
The Atomium was not intended to survive beyond the 1958 World Fair but its popularity and success soon made it a key landmark, first of Brussels then internationally.
The restaurant, also situated at the top, is open every day till 11.00 p.m.
