ARTVIEW s’intéresse de manière originale à l’art contemporain et invite à de nouvelles formes de rencontres entre amateurs et créateurs d’art. Pour sa troisième édition, ARTVIEW s’intéresse aux créations contemporaines acquises par le Musée d’Ixelles et interroge les politiques publiques en terme d’achats d’œuvres d’art à travers l’exemple de cette institution bruxelloise. Ce rendez-vous de l’Atomium avec la création contemporaine mettra entre autre à l’honneur le travail de Jean-Luc Moerman, d’Edith De Kyndt ou encore de Ann Veronica Janssens.

Incarnation des notions de progrès et d’innovation qui étaient à la base de l’Expo’58 : l’Atomium relance perpétuellement la question de la modernité. Depuis sa rénovation en 2006, l’Atomium cherche à prolonger cette réflexion par la mise en place d’expositions temporaires. Les thèmes de société, l’architecture, le design [moderniste ou contemporain] et les arts plastiques sont mis en scène dans ce bâtiment qui, en plus d’être le plus visité de Belgique, s’impose de plus en plus comme un pôle culturel dans le Nord de la ville. L’approche, à la fois ludique et didactique, contentera tous les publics, qu’il soit novice ou averti, belge ou étranger. Nl

Futuristic & Universal, the Atomium has never stopped remembering the spirit of Expo 58 – when the building was erected – and its dual inspiration of progress and innovation. Themes such as architecture, design (modernist or contemporary) and modern society are covered by a number of temporary exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibitions are aimed at the general public, Belgian or foreigner, tourist and culture lover.

A travers une série de tableaux-installations, Orange Dreams dévoile les aspects les plus ludiques et les plus originaux du design plastique. Basée sur l’incontournable collection du Plasticarium, l’exposition permet de (re)découvrir cette matière symbole des Golden Sixties et de la société de consommation. De l’objet du quotidien à l’œuvre d’art : la couleur orange épouse des formes à la créativité debridée dans une remarquable mise en scène conçue pour l’Atomium.

Het futuristische & universele Atomium houdt vast aan het ideeëngoed van Expo 58, waarvoor het werd gebouwd. Het Atomium houdt, sinds de renovatie in 2006, deze gedachte levend met tijdelijke tentoonstellingen. Verschillende thema’s komen aan bod: design (modernistisch of hedendaags), architectuur, plastische kunsten en ook sociale thema’s. Het Atomium blijft het meest bezochte Belgische gebouw en profileert zich meer en meer als een plaats voor cultuur. De tentoonstellingen zijn geschikt voor een ruim publiek, Belg of buitenlander, cultuurliefhebber en toerist. En

Orange Dreams toont in haar installaties de leukste en origineelste aspecten van ontwerpen uit plastiek. De plastieken voorwerpen komen uit de rijke verzameling van het Plasticarium. De bezoeker (her)ontdekt dit symbolisch materiaal uit de Golden Sixties en uit de consumptiemaatschappij. Van dagelijkse gebruiksvoorwerpen tot kunstvoorwerpen, de kleur oranje is overal aanwezig. De tentoonstelling is speciaal voor het Atomium ontworpen. En

Orange Dreams shows through its installations the playful and most original aspects of plastic design. The plastic objects come from the extraordinary Plasticarium private collection. The public will (re)discover this symbolic material from the Golden Sixties and modern consumerism. From daily utility products to art creations, the colour orange is everywhere in this vibrant exhibit specifically designed and staged for the Atomium and its unique architecture.

Artview is an original concept presenting contemporary art. The first ambition of Artview is to look to both the contemporary art lovers as well as to the creators. For its third edition Artview is working together with the Museum of Elsene and its contemporary art. This meeting of the Atomium with the contemporary creation will amongst other celebrate the work of Jean-Luc Moerman, Edith De Kyndt and Ann Veronica Janssens.

ARTVIEW is een origineel concept rond hedendaagse kunst. De oorspronkelijke ambitie is om te kijken naar zowel de liefhebbers van hedendaagse kunst als naar de makers. De derde editie is een samenwerking met het Museum van Elsene met een aantal hedendaagse kunstwerken. Deze afspraak van het Atomium met de hedendaagse creatie zal onder meer het werk van Jean-Luc Moerman, Edith De Kyndt of nog Ann Veronica Janssens in het licht zetten.
