On the occasion of the Belgian Presidency of the European Union - international symbol of Europeʼs Capital – the Atomium will offer a world premiere: audio-guides in the 23 official languages of the Union. Visitors will have the occasion to enjoy the comments in 26 different languages because audio guides in Turkish, Russian and Chinese are also available. This service will officially be announced to the diplomats, Ministers and journalists on June 25th at 11.00 AM in the Atomium (room Ilya Prigogine).
Belgium will take over the EU Council Presidency for a period of 6 months as from July 1st. The Atomium, important monument of Brussels, headquarter of the European institutions, would like to take part of this presidency. We wish to welcome all the citizens of the European Union as good as possible as being the first European tourist monument that will offer audio guides in the 23 languages of the EU. On top of the Russian, Chinese and Turkish language, there will be audio guides available in the 23 official languages of the European Union: German, English, Bulgarian, Danish, Spanish, Estonian, Finnish, French, Italian, Irish/Celtic, Greek, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Swedish and Czech. This service, available as from July 1st , will be permanent even after the 6 months of the Belgian Presidency. The Atomium will put out the flag of Europe on the inauguration day, June 25th . After the presentation, the guests will have the chance to try the audio guide in the language of their choice. The Atomium, Futuristic and Universal since 1958, continues to strive for progress to improve the well-being of everybody.
