SUCCESS IS THE BEST REVENGE
I
ts a good feeling for me to be able to write to you again my dear readers, l thank God who has kept you alive and l believe its for a reason. At the same time l would like to comfort all those going through hard times and challenges in life that this is just a season and every season has an expiry date especially most especially the bad seasons. At some point in life, everyone has got that sense or feeling of being better or achieving something meaningful in life, in my terms or definition l call it ambition or ego. Imagine a life without purpose, in todays modern world it is called a big tragedy. People wont fight you for nothing, but whats more surprising, is that people will tolerate you as long as you are at the same level with them but will fight you when you start making your way out. Its because of this, am here to say that success is the best revenge ever. Some people have taken it as far as exchanging mean words and sometimes
also fight because of these kind of scenarios, but what better does it do? we waste a lot of energy on things that wont benefit us in life or our careers and by the time we need our strength back, its gone. l challenge you now to start working on whatever you are blessed to do no matter how hard and no matter how many fingers point against you. While trusting God that everything will be alright and that there will be light at the end of every struggle keep moving on. Wishing you the best in everything you do. always yours. God bless you.

HOW TO BUILD
M
any people dream of leaving their employment to start their own businesses. As for me, like many other successful entrepreneurs, I had to keep my day time job until I reached a point in my business when it was feasible to quit. I had been employed by the Banking industry for more than 4 years and I had to work hard and smartly until my part time income exceeded that of the full time job. This transition time can be stressful and difficult, especially when you don’t enjoy your job; but it doesn’t have to be. While ambition is important, it is not always enough to move you forward. Maintaining your motivation and drive during your transition from employee to entrepreneur is crucial. It’s easy to be off the course and get discouraged during this transitional phase. Here are some actions you can start taking immediately while you’re still at your day job that will keep you on track and moving forward. ○ Be clear on your “WHY” Starting your Business. Connecting with your reason for starting a business is the most important first step you can take. Maybe you are motivated by being your own boss, financial independence, time freedom, creative expression, being home with your kids or helping others. Whatever your reason, knowing what motivates and drives you is what will keep you focused and committed to your dream when times get difficult. When Your “Why” is big enough, “How” does not matter.
A BUSINESS WHILE STILL EMPLOYED ○ Create a Personal Vision for Your Business. Think about what you want in your business a year from now and write it down. Be very specific and detailed. Describe in great detail in the present tense your ideal day, what activities you engage in, who are your customers/clients are, how many customers/clients you have and what your monthly income is. Read your vision aloud every morning and evening, focusing completely on the end result -- your vibrant, flourishing business. By keeping your focus on the result, you will be able to make the dayto-day choices to ignore any negative thoughts that may arise.
○ Change Friends. There is a saying which goes “Birds of the same feathers flock together”. Find friends who believe in entrepreneurship. Find people who are successful in business. Let these be your friends. You can move one step ahead and join a mastermind group -- a peer-to-peer mentoring group that meets regularly to support each other, brainstorm ideas and share advice and work through challenges together. A mastermind group can be excellent for helping you stay accountable and motivated.
○ Daily Goal Setting. Take small, measurable action steps each day towards your business, understanding there will be times when it seems like you are making no progress at all. Much of the work, in the beginning, will be tedious day-to-day tasks. Realize it is all part of building your business. By taking steps each day, which includes doing the mundane, you will start seeing results. The more progress you make, the more confidence and determination you have to keep moving forward. ○ Be Committed to Your Dream. Having the desire for something to work is one thing and committing to it is another thing. When you commit to your dream, you are making a binding obligation to see it through to success. It means you are “all in,” you find solutions when faced with obstacles and you don’t quit, no matter what. Make that pledge to yourself, and then tell the people in your life.

CHANGE YOUR CUSTOMERS TO RAVING FANS
A
re you a fan of any football team? What do we really need in our business to be sure of tomorrow? I bet the answer is loyal customers. In today’s competitive economy, for our businesses to survive, we don’t just need customers but Raving Fans. Fans that can use our products, talk about it, recommend it to their friends and families and never switch to competitors products. How do we change our customers to our Fans? Follow these 5 tips and your business will turn around
1
.The Power of Extra. We hear all the time “If you want to be extraordinary you must do something extra”. Something extra for your customers doesn’t mean something that costs money. Here is the list of cost free but yet powerful things we can give to our customers and make them our fans. SMILE EYE CONTACT ACTIVE LISTENING COMMENT SMALL RECOGNITION
2
.Responsibility Take 100% responsibility of your product or service. Whether you run a big store of a mini-supermarket, develop a system to collect feedback and complains about your product or service. Then resolve the matters as fast as possible. This will make you reliable and show that you care.
3
.Promise less Deliver more. It’s very easy to promise. As a consultant and trainer I always try not to promise if am not 100% sure that I can deliver and I advice my clients to do the same.Always deliver more than you promised
4
.Be Different Note; Prices don’t make you different it just makes you expensive, affordable or cheap. Be yourself, embrace what makes you unique. Know your strengths and use them to make yourself outstanding. Remember being different does not means being perfect
5
.Follow Up There is a saying that “the magic is in the follow up” If you want to double and retain your customers follow this formula. P.P.F. (Prospect, Present, Follow up) the most exiting part for making your customers raving fans is if you make them feel special and cared by following up. Don’t wait for them to call you, always call them whenever possible.

You Don’t Need Motivation, You Need Action
“
I came to realize that being motivated has no guarantee of putting in effort and work towards a dream. I was reading 4 books in a month on various topics but I didn’t realize or seen much changes in me. I have decided to read one book a month on real estate so as I can grow.” Those were the words of a close friend of mine Mr Godlove Manase, sales executive at Kilmanjaro, Hyatt Hotel Dar Es Salaam. I couldn’t add anything on that self realization in life. Months before hearing that I came into the same conclusion on matters of motivation and growth. To start pursuing your dream you have to be motivated, the motivation can come from your poor life situation, not living to your potential or feeling unsatisfied with the current job or situation. But after
starting, motivation is just a reminder of what matters not the fuel to push things. The Internet has turned everyone in the world a philosopher. Each one among us feels they are hustling, pushing the limits, going an extra mile, being entrepreneurs and game changers. The reality is we are motivated but we haven’t started doing what it takes to be living examples of the philosophers. Do you remember that friend of yours with a dream of owning a mansion at Masaki? Or that guy with a picture of Rolls Royce on his phone wallpaper. These guys are still working for 8 hours a day, thank God for every Friday and complain on every Monday. So these guys are motivated that things are possible and can happen but are not doing what it takes to reach there.
After reading more than 300 motivational books, listening to more than 1000 motivational audios and watching more than 2000 motivational videos I came to realize that motivation is just 20% of the equation, consistent acting after being motivated balances the equation. Always remember that being motivated and working hard is not enough, you have to do what it takes to make it even if it is some distance after hard working. AND PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, STOP BEING MOTIVATED AND START ACTING ON THE MOTIVATION.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER GRADUATION CEREMONY
T
he first graduation ceremony for Music Mayday sound of tomorrow project was indeed a night to remember. The event took place on 12th March 2016 at the Goethe Institute. Our students gave a performance that moved the crowd and many could not believe that they were trained for only two years. It was a special night for their families and friends but most of all for the school. Goethe Institut was filled to capacity and the atmosphere was great. The Assistant Director of the Department of Culture from the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Ms Leah Kihimbi, on behalf of Minister Nape Nnauye was the guest of honor. Leah Kihimbi said that the minister was happy to know that a centre like Music Mayday which gives professional training for talented young people in music exists and she promised that the Ministry will work closely with the project in the future to make sure that more youths benefit from this project. Hilda Kiel, one of the founders of the school explained how difficult it was to get the school started and how strict the program is for the students. She said the project started 3 years ago with the aim of developing a sustainable music school so as to strengthen the creative industry
in Tanzania with the focus on music. 40 out of 60 students managed to graduate and this is a good start for what she hopes will be a long lasting project. The main challenge is how the project will be funded in the future as we have come to an end of the main support from the EU. Another important guest for the night was the Norwegian Ambassador HanneMarie Kaarstad as the school has received
and is continuing to receive support from the Royal Norwegian Embassy. In her speech she said they will continue to support the project at the same capacity as she recognizes the importance of music education in job creation. She praised the whole team of students, teachers and management for the great work done for two years and urged them to work even harder to make sure the project prospers. Students were the super stars of the night
as they presented an array of beautiful songs including a special version of Malaika which got a lot of applause from the happy crowd. The guest of honor gave special certificates and awards to students with outstanding performance in their exams and other school activities. Jaffary Nassoro was awarded for being the only student to complete the course on time, Elias Alfred for being the best student in Sound Engineering, Abdallah Membe and Balamu Charles for being all time outstanding students and last but not list Shaibu Ramadhani for being the student who scored highest points in the final exams. Shaibu got straight As in all subjects. Teachers Elidady Msangi and Kauzeni Lyamba did a great job in producing the whole event as well as taking part in performance. The Project Manager Carola Kinasha was the host and she surprised the crowd when she led her students on a song Hapo Zamani. The MC Evans Bukuku was a great addition to the formidable team. This was indeed a night to remember for everybody who attended. What is next? Check out this space for updates. By Carola Kinasha

Doing what it takes &
I
should say I am moved by the amount of motivation going on around, now everyone seems to have dreams, aspirations, goals and you name it all. But what is motivation without action?
Never quitting
We can all be inspired and moved for various reasons which will make us determined to achieve something out of it. This being said and done, your ability to doing ALL that it takes is the one thing that will make a difference.
Forget the stories, the philosophies, the quotes, the videos and audios, taking action on your goals and dreams is what will matter at the end. “If you quit, quitting will become easier and easier for the rest of your life” – Osman Minkara In doing what it takes, give it your all, although it might get to a point where nothing seems to be working out. At this point its very easy for that voice in the back of your head to whisper to you, “just quit”. Given that situation, I would ask you to run away from that voice because what it is saying to you might just make you dig your own grave. When you choose to quit on something, you are simply letting yourself sink in your self- created belief in failure. You look at any person who has succeeded in their passion, persistence and endurance have always been a part of them. If just like me, you are on a journey in pursuit of your passion DO all that it takes to make it worth it and NEVER quit. By Rumisho E. Shikonyi
