Possibility or Obstacle?

R

ight now, what do you see in front of you - possibilities, or obstacles? “When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” Alexander Graham Bell. Have any doors closed on you recently? Are there any open doors you may not have noticed? While the wave is there – ride it; when the wave breaks, another will come – be on the lookout for it. Think about this statement: “The real reason we aren’t living our dreams is inside ourselves; we only pretend it is people, things or situations outside ourselves that are to blame.” (A dream is something you want to achieve, or a place you want to get to, because of a strong desire in the very core of your being; it is realistic and achievable; it is consistent with your personality, your gifting, and your talent. It is your dream, not someone else’s. It will benefit people, not harm them. It is not a fantasy or an escape). In each country I have delivered seminars, I have been told that I may not really appreciate what their economy is

4

going through, and that sometimes it is situations outside us that are to blame. Allow me to challenge your perception of the things that are holding you back from pursuing your dreams. In 2007, when I started my company, the country I lived in (Zimbabwe) was facing enormous economic challenges. Hyperinflation was soaring, and reached 79 billion percent, banks weren’t giving loans (some had collapsed), money was scarce, and people were depressed. Not the sort of conditions that business advisors advocate when starting a new enterprise. In view of this, I ask people: Is it really impossible to pursue your dream? How much longer are you going to put it off? If you don’t pursue your dream, will you be able to live with the regret that will follow in the years to come? In one of my favorite movies, Braveheart, there is a scene that is seared into my memory. In it, a crowd of desperate Scotsmen have gathered at a place called Stirling to face a large and well equipped army, sent out against them by the dictator king of England, Edward Longshanks. The Scots have lived many long years under oppression, in

terrible conditions. As the Scots witness the massive enemy army arriving in well-organized ranks – hundreds of infantrymen, hundreds of archers, a large cavalry – they are tempted to run, rather than fight. But William Wallace rallies them with a rousing appeal about one day gaining their freedom, and they commit to fight. After a brutal battle, they win their first major victory over the English in centuries; within several years they go on to win their freedom as a nation. But what would have happened if they did not stand and fight? I think of that scene when I’m faced with big challenges and am tempted to run. In his stirring address, Wallace said, “Fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live…at least a while. And dying in your bed, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance – just one chance – to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom?” Are you willing to stand and fight for your dream? Is this a choice you made? Have you ever come across that person who claims to have made a decision or a choice because of someone else? It might have been from something as simple as what to eat to bigger things such as careers, friends or even life long relationships. So many people walk through this world making their day to day choices based on external influences. Life is all about choices and decisions you make, your present life is a sum of the choices you made in the past and your future depends on the choices you make today. What does this mean? You have full control of what type of life you want to live and the life you want your family to live in. Its knowns for a fact, the people we admire and follow all made a sum of choices that led them to where they are. So many of us fear making decisions and choices because of the fear of the unknown or the fear of hurting other

peoples emotions. As you are trying to justify your reasoning for not making decisions and choices to determine the type of life you want to live, you are automatically loosing control over your life, your personal identity and at worst the only emotions that you will hurt for rest of your life, will be yours. Just like you, When I was younger, I recall a number of decisions made for me by my parents’ (mostly out of care and love). These decisions were made out of experiences they had and what they thought is best for me. As you grow up, your life is your responsibility. your upbringing does not have to be a reflection of your true self, you have it within you to dictate and influence all the changes you want in your life. Don’t look at the decisions you make as being right or wrong, develop a mindset of looking at them simply as lessons and experiences you need to go through to be a better human being. Make a choice to

live a life that in your deep of hearts you know you truly deserve. Making a decision is an art, no need to seek perfection with it, deciding on something and not deciding are all decisions you can make, make a choice and live with it. There you go, kudos to the choice you have just made to read this issue, you have added new lessons in your life, keep making more of choices.

Have you Seen A Lazy Person Who Is Successful??

I

have done my research and noted that from school to work, business and life there is no any successful person who is lazy and procrastinate. Maybe I am living in a different community, if so help me to find one lazy person in your community who does nothing and always procrastinate and is very successful. You can look at teachers, entrepreneurs, doctors, artists, students and politicians. I believe your conclusion is NO. That should remind you that success has direct relationship with hard work. The harder you work the successful you become it, doesn’t matter in which aspect of life. If you are student you have to work hard to come on top, do the assignments, study on your extra time, go discussions, read different books and ask questions. I remember in school (primary and secondary) and University, people used to call me genius, what they didn’t know that I used to find at least four books on the same topic to get the idea of what the teachers and lecturers were talking about. And No one wanted to hear that, they were just impressed with the awesome As. If you are employed you have to come early

8

to office, meet the deadlines, help others, dress presentable, solve problems and go extra mile. If you are an entrepreneur you know what has to be done. You will never make steps by being lazy, by just doing minor and interesting work and ignore the harder stuffs. You will never succeed if you procrastinate on your to do list or find excuses not to do them.

what is next or what should I do, let me answer that with the quote below “The best time to start something was yesterday, the next one is today”

All the people you are inspired and motivated by are putting in extra hours in everything they do. If they are artists they spend time in the studio, they meet people, they do practice and rehearsals for months just for a 10 minutes performance on stage. The famous business people are known for working 80 to 100 hours a week, to remind you the week has 168 hours and if you do 9 to 5 routine you usually work 40 hours a week or less. Let me remind you that it is not a matter of how cute, smart, tall, talented or connected you are, it is about how hard you work. Anyone who will work harder than you will win your seat and position. So now you know that working hard is very important and needed for your success then you might be asking yourself

ello everyone, l hold faith that you are doing fine and well. My prayers go out to everyone out there going through a tough moment in life, hold faith, you will be fine. Most of us have come across the word ACTION many times and here I am again talking about the same subject hoping you might finally make that choice to take an action in your life. The difference between people who have made it in life and those still wishing to, is ACTION. You will be surprised by how many people are having thoughts, beautiful dreams and visions but only few are actually willing to act on them. Everyday, life pushes us to our death and not our birth; every day we do not take an action introduces us to a new level of failure and not doing what we have always wanted to do. At the end of the day we wake up and we are already running in our 40s or 50s and this is the time people start to regret over the things they should have done but did not do. Why wait until you cannot do it anymore?

l know you might be asking yourself how you are going to start, but if you are willing, am sure you will find the means to do it. No one ever made it by only talking, but l know people who worked their way from impossibility to possibility. You can make that choice too. Make a choice to take an action, be the change you want to see. God bless you. Email or call us, and we will help you.

THE MAGICAL RESULTS OF RIGHT BOOKS

It is said, and rightly so,that knowledge is power but I strongly take sides with Napoleon Hill that the application of knowledge is power. And let me add more on Dr. Hill’s thought that the right application of the right knowledge leads to power. It is clearly evident from these statements of facts that right knowledge should be derived from right sources. There are many known sources of knowledge that time and space will not allow me to go into details in this one article. Therefore, I have decided to talk about one source and its magical-like life transformational results. I managed to coin a thought provoking statement that will keep you pondering for hours like it did for me. This statement is short and memorable and it can surely get you going. And this statement is ‘the magical results of right books’. It is a known fact that there are millions of books and these books cover all topics ever known to mankind. One person alone can never be able to read all these books in a short life span. On the contrary, magical results start with

18

AweSome 13

September 2016

a definite purpose in life where by an individual decides to specialize in one purpose after thorough reflection and personal analysis. This purpose may be a specific business, a definite skill, or even an investment niche. It is said that“specialized repetition is the mother of perfection”. This is very true and I have seen the magical results of this firsthand. We have seen the awesome and outstanding achievement of life long pioneers in every walk of life as a result of years of focus in one specific purpose. We are inspired by people like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Tony Robbins, Barack Obama, Diamond Platnumz and the like but we fail to comprehend a simple truth that these people specialized and are known for one definite individual purpose. Warren Buffet read 100 investment books by the time he was 11 years old and he now reads 8o% of his free time. Bill Gates reads up to 15 books a month and Barack Obama is in the office for hours perfecting his craft. Sometimes up to 2 a.m. The list may go on and on. One research revealed that an individual may become a master in an

area after 10,000 -15,000 hours of study and practice. The magical results of right books is when you decide to specialize in one definite purpose and read all the books you can get your hands on. Invest hours and hours of study and practical application in that area and see yourself becoming an expert. Become known for one thing and one thing only. People, companies and governments will pay you millions to extract from the wealth of practical knowledge that you have accumulated and demonstrated throughout the years. This is when you and I will see the real meaning of the right application of knowledge is power. My craft is Real Estate Investing and I am investing a large portion of my time and income into learning all I can on Real estate. What do you want to be known for? Take your time to decide, learn and apply all you can. Become the best you can be!. By Godlove M. Mlaki Real Estate Investor, Factum Group®

ANY MAN CAN BE A FATHER, ONLY FEW CAN MAKE IT TO DADs Eulogy for the Late Emmanuel Reuben Katuma

A

man who is kind, easily forgives and lets go. A man who gives a child a chance to learn and grow.A man who's playful and abides by "fun has no age" this man makes a best friend and wins closeness. A man who Loves to the extent of Sacrificing his own dreams and happiness for the sake of his kids; who fights and protects the dreams and ambitions of his kids; who understand feelings and emotions is a child's Super man. A man who keeps his children as a priority and does anything in his power to win a smile. This man holds a perfect definition of a dad. A dad is a daughter's first Love and a Son's Hero; A best friend, a motivator, inspiration and role model. Through him true Love is reflected and learned, trust and honesty through believing is attained. He plants Faith in his child by praying for them and with them; wishing to see his child stand tall and successful. Many men end up becoming fathers, busy having no time for their children

The Late Emmanuel Reuben Katuma considering it as time wastage, give no options or attention to their kids; hardly care about their kids dreams or ambitions. All they do is forcing their kids to live the dreams and desires they couldn't achieve in the name of market and opportunity. Personally being raised by a Dad made me aware of how exactly it felt to have a dad and that made me a proud daughter; it was a relationship envied by neighbors’ friends & relatives. Be a dad that every child wishes to have. Love and live a life worth living, for times short and no one knows when you'll be departing from your child. In the loving memory of our dad, Emmanuel Katuma Rona Emmanuel Proud daughter

Dear Sir, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT I refer to the recent death of the accountant at your office and hereby apply for the job as a replacement of the dead accountant. Each time I apply for employment, I get a reply that there is no vacancy but in this case, I have caught you red handed and you have no excuse because while I was in my hometown for holidays I heard the good news about his death so i quickly rushed back to attend the funeral to be sure that he was truly dead before applying. YOUR INNER IMAGE DETERMINES YOUR FUTURE.

L

et me start by giving you some facts of life. You will never be or have more than what you can picture from inside. Your outside world is the reflection of your inside world. And here is the thing; the images of your future are determined by the images playing inside you, about you. When I was 7 years old, I lived with my step mother for 6 years. I was tortured, humiliated and made to believe that I was meant for nothing. She said things to me that made me picture myself as a failure. I grew up with this image till I started my primary education. You cannot believe, this started affecting my grades and the way I carried myself. Thanks to God I met someone whom did not just tell me but showed me how I could create the picture of my future, put all the details I want and paint the colors I want. Am here today to show you exactly step by step how you can do the same. Step 1. Let go of the old picture: Remember you have to replace the picture. To do so you have to get rid of the old picture. It might start with forgiving whoever made you believe that you were not meant for anything great. For you, It might be a different scenario compared to mine, may be its your boss, your parents, your relatives, your lecturer, whoever that may or might be, let it go. You cannot step into the bright future with past baggage. Someone once said “If you want to fly higher you have to be light”. Step 2. Start imagining your ideal future. Remember it’s your image; you are the creator and editor. Imagine the life that you want to live, the stuffs you want

24

AweSome 13

September 2016

to have, the family you want to create, the friend you would like to hang around, the smile around your face, if everything was possible. If you could have everything you want, how will your picture look like? Here is the fact; it’s possible to live that life in a reality. Step 3. Believe, Believe, Believe: People have associated this word with religion but it really just means what it says, believe. Have assurance that you can live that pictured life regardless of the current situation. Believing isn’t religious it’s actually a way of sending signals to the universe that you are ready to work for and receive what you really want. Step 4. Say good things to yourself. Today’s world is full of people who can do short emotional research on you and tell you that you cannot do what you want to do. Sometimes they haven’t even heard what you want to do. Be aware of these people they can steal your future and your dreams. They can change your inner picture. One of my mentors, Brian Tracy advices us to say words like I like myself×5 I am the best ×5 and I can do it×5 every day. You can do the same or add some more words to make it more engaging and fancy. I have added words like Am good looking, am handsome, am loving etc. Every time I say these words I feel great. These simple sentences affect the way I think, talk, walk, dress and the way I do my business every day. My advice is don’t wait for people to say good things to you, say them to yourself they will later join you. Step 5. Surround yourself with positive people. They are so difficult to find nowadays but we still have few and you are now one of

them. I once heard Less Brown saying “your income is the average of your to top 5 friends incomes”. In this scenario your image is the average of your top 5 friend’s images. If you keep friends who feel bad about themselves, complain about the economy, the country, the president, the weather all the time, am pretty sure you will end up poor and miserable. Choose friends who will encourage you, tell you the truth, support you and enlarge the picture you have about yourself. If you see yourself as a successful person, you will be successful but if you have this picture of a failure, someone who can’t start and make anything work out you will always be a failure. Remember what Jim Rohn (late American business philosopher) said “success is not paused, it’s attracted by becoming an attractive person” To become an attractive person you must have and hold a positive image about yourself. Decide to change today; decide to create a positive, strong and colorful picture about yourself. Start to believe again that you were born for something bigger. You were created and provided with everything you need to prosper. You are great and you can do more than what you think you can. Why settle for anything less?
