Synopsis Sinopsia

Rosa is a successful professional. The sudden death of the grandfather who raised her and the feeling of not having returned that love, bring her back to the home where she was raised.

Thanks to a series of letters and clues she discovers that her grandfather left her an important task that will help her make peace with herself and others, while she repairs her grandfather’s past mistakes.

Rosa profesional arrakastatsua da. Hazi zen aitonaren bat-bateko heriotza eta maitasun horri ez zegokiola sentitzea hazi zen etxera eraman zuten.

Gutun eta pista batzuei esker jakin du aitonak zeregin garrantzitsu bat utzi ziola, bere buruarekin eta besteekin adiskidetzen laguntzeko, aitonaren iraganeko akatsak konpontzen dituen bitartean.

My Grandfather’s Demons is an animation feature film that centres its narrative in Rosa, a young city woman who lives an agitated life pursuing the social gratification that money and the city seem to bring her.

With this film, I mean to create an identification with a way of life that so many times consumes us, makes us retreat form our most profound being and pushes us into automatic actions that distance us from the Other. Independence turned isolation and pushed away the need we have of living connected to a community.

Rosa’s search is directly connected with taking comfort form the Others embrace, to the need of friendship connections, to sharing and to mutual help. We all need the Other’s presence an the human bonds that grow beyond the pursuit of economic independence ant the illusion that it creates for us. This film also works on the clash between time lived in the city, where it never seems to be enough and where we end up just reacting, driven by the pressure of daily stress, and Time in the country life, where it seems to slow down, allowing us to think and contemplate.

Film honen bidez, gehiegitan kontsumitzen gaituen bizimoduarekin identifikazioa sortu nahi dut, gure izate intimoenetik urruntzen gaitu eta elkarrengandik urruntzen gaituzten ekintza mekanikoetara bultzatzen gaitu.
