Meet Kent’s 50 fastest growing businesses

It’s truly inspiring to celebrate the incredible success of Kent’s thriving businesses –especially in these challenging economic times.

As any business owner can attest the past few years have presented many obstacles to growth. We’ve navigated through Brexit, a pandemic, fluctuating interest rates, geopolitical tensions and the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Yet, despite these challenges many of Kent’s businesses have stayed resilient and achieved remarkable growth rates.

In late March, we had the pleasure of hosting Kent’s 50 fastest-growing, privately-owned businesses for a special breakfast at the Tudor Park Country Club. This event celebrated their outstanding achievements as part of the 2025 MegaGrowth 50.

Driven by determination, guided by sharp business acumen, and supported by incredible teams, these businesses have seen impressive growth in turnover over the past four years. It was truly rewarding to honour their hard work and commend them for their well-deserved success.

Such success has been achieved through various means, some earning their place on the list by excelling in niche markets and

some by embracing new product lines. A common theme amongst many of the businesses listed in the MegaGrowth 50 is that skilled and dedicated people are often the key to their success.

Now in its 21st year, the MegaGrowth 50 is proudly presented by accountants and business advisers Kreston Reeves, leading law firm Brachers, under the license of KM Media Group and in partnership with the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce.

James Bullock, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Brachers, said: “Once again, MegaGrowth 50 has offered an incredible platform to celebrate some of the county’s most impressive businesses. Through conversations with the leaders of these companies, it’s evident that success comes from a combination of a robust business model, innovative approaches, strategic vision, and the

ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Each MegaGrowth 50 firm exemplifies these qualities, and I commend them for their outstanding achievements.”

Nigel Fright, Managing Partner at Kreston Reeves, commented:

“Businesses across the UK continue to navigate extraordinary challenges. The lingering effects of Brexit, coupled with inflationary turbulence, have significantly complicated business operations. Additionally, the need to stay abreast of constantly evolving regulations, especially in business tax, presents a formidable task.”

and resilience in our clients, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Kent’s business community.”

He continued: “In this challenging environment, it’s truly inspiring to recognise the businesses that have earned a place in the MegaGrowth 50. These companies have not only survived but thrived, contributing to the region’s impressive growth. We see this same determination

Tudor Price, Chief Executive at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is the second year that the Chamber has supported MegaGrowth 50. It was a delight to meet some of the successful businesses at the awards presentation, which pleasingly included several of our members. The MegaGrowth 50 businesses are a great success story for our county, demonstrating that Kent remains a prime hotspot for doing business in the UK. The Chamber is always here to support and advise local businesses through the opportunities and challenges that come with a fast-growth journey. We hope, consequently, that many more of our members will earn a place in this prestigious ranking in the years to come.”

MegaGrowth 50 qualifying criteria

MegaGrowth 50 is an annual ranking of Kent’s fastest-growing businesses. The performance table is put together based on the average turnover growth of privately owned businesses that have a minimum turnover of £1 million, as stipulated in their full accounts registered at Companies House across the last four years. High performing companies who do not file full accounts, but meet the criteria, can also apply to be considered for inclusion.

Construction leads the way

The latest MegaGrowth 50 highlights the dynamic nature of Kent’s economy, with construction and building services businesses leading the way. This year, retail has surged to become the second most represented sector in the MegaGrowth 50, up from fifth in 2024.

The current construction landscape

The construction and building services sector continues to be a major contributor to the regional economy. Several companies have experienced significant growth and resilience, reflecting their drive and adaptability in the face of economic headwinds.

“It’s impressive to see that half of the top 10 businesses are in the construction and building services sector, with 25% of all featured companies operating in this segment of the economy,” comments Alex Cosgrove, Commercial Partner and Head of Construction at Brachers law firm

“Companies like Drakemoor Ltd, Lawtech Group Ltd, and Primech Building Services have shown remarkable growth, with increases of 483%, 464%, and 399% respectively.”

Alex continues, “This highlights the sector’s resilience and importance, especially considering the economic challenges of recent years. The construction sector remains a vital part of the South East’s economy, driving growth and innovation – a trend we can expect to continue in light of the new government’s focus on housebuilding and reforming the planning system.”

Building for the future

In 2025, Kent’s construction sector is expected to see continued growth, driven by a recovery in private housing, with project starts anticipated to increase due to mortgage and building costs stabilising.

Technological advances are also predicted, which are set to revolutionise construction practices, improving efficiency and project outcomes.

“A strong emphasis on sustainability will also continue to shape the industry, with more green building materials and energy-efficient designs becoming the norm,” comments Jennifer Williamson, Partner and Head of Real Estate at Kreston Reeves.

“It is wonderful to see so many construction companies in the MegaGrowth 50 this year who have sustainability at the heart of their operations, and a testament to those making these businesses a success”.

Jennifer continues, “In looking at what the future holds, the sector must address ongoing challenges such as labour shortages and material cost fluctuations to fully capitalise on the growth opportunities ahead. The resilience we have seen is something that must continue and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Kent construction.”
